@pianoly many thanks for the video, I really enjoy playing the piano, iam mostly self taught, I taught myself to play piano at the age of 15yrs, iam 53 next week, so 38yrs, I love playing fur elise and Beethoven and Mozart sonatas, ragtime pieces by Scot Joplin like the Entertainer and maple leaf rag, 🍁 and various other pieces, I think I also will try pachebel Cannon and Bachs Prelude, expand my repertoire to other composers, greetings from wales uk.
May I know how did u practice and which piece
@@dgptelugu7946 the most simple pieces.. I am getting ready to test them ALL out... I never did such kind like that it is fun!
Thank you my teacher.
Thanks. I am a self taught pianist....in my 60s now (2023).
I have heard this music (Fur Elise) and wanted to learn to play it.
Thanks for your wonderful lesson. 👍👍👍
Lovely "music box" music as well. That should inspire anyone as they age.
Thank you for this great teaching.
I think it is so cute how you refer to classical pieces as 'riffs';..I love your videos
Thanks so much for your videos!
Kaitlyn, Thank you for this great tutorial. This is by far one of my favorites. Love how you can simplify those classical pieces that I wanted to learn but always afraid to learn. And great idea on providing one fun fact for each musician. Keep up with great work:)
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much!!!!🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Thank you Ms Kaithlyn, really appreciate your guidance is absolutely gteat👍🏻🥰🙏🏻
Brilliant, cant wait to get started. Bill
Great intro to the world of classical music! Bach's Prelude in G Major has always been a favorite, especially on cello.
Mine too! Thanks for watching!
I've seen beginners try things like this; but, never pursued the full measure. Hope They see this !
🎉still in the learning mode 😮
Damn. You make it easier ❤. Thank you.
Thank you, Kaitlyn. The introduction to classical music is really nice. Pachebel strikes a chord in me. I love it and will add to my schedule. I did not know what was the title and the composer behind this classic; now I know. 😊
Cheers and best wishes!
You're so welcome!
Great 👍
Thank you ma'am for the tutorial 🙏
My pleasure 😊
So beautiful, my favorites are canon in D and ones I play are Ode to Joy and moonlight Sonata.. Thank You for these lovely you tubes.
You are so welcome!
Hello Kaitlyn. First off you make it so easy to follow and get motivated. Thank you for that. I started playing the keyboard a couple years ago. I'm 74 yrs old and really no time left to learn sheet music. I started watching your videos and wow. I learned cords first and doing better than before. I have a question please. In one of your videos you made reference to a site where you can see songs written down and the cords right on top of the words. Is there any way you can get that site for me again? Thank you again for your great videos. Thank you in advance for the site. God Bless. Have a great day.
Thank you Sir .
Most welcome
Thank you Kaitlyn for another video
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!
I follow you and learn to play alone you are amazing
Great video again
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video Ma'am❤
My pleasure 😊
I found a very easy arrangement of "Dance of the blessed spirits" (CW Gluck) and learn it now. I'm following your method to analyze the piece first for familiar cords, scales etc and it helps a lot.

@@robertakerman3570 you totally got this!
Nice ! I will try.@@pianoly
Good teach love it easiest way❤
Kaitlyn do you also teach piano lessons for advanced students
You are the best piano teacher in CZcams here.
Thanks for watching and for your kind words :)
Wow am able to play keyboard in two weeks, this teacher is awesome
Rock on!
Thank you so very much Kaitlyn for your wonderful tutorials. I would love to take your free piano course but cannot find the "link below" that you mention. You are the very best instructor! You explain everything so clearly and don't talk quickly, giving everyone a chance to process and understand what you are teaching. ❤
Thanks for your kind words! The free training is here: try.piano.ly/seperate-webinar-opt-in-page1681745490800?_gl=1*1496hp4*_ga*NzEyMjQxOTIwLjE2OTYxNjg4MDM.*_ga_4H08H4LQ9P*MTcwMTY0MTkzNy43Ni4wLjE3MDE2NDE5MzcuMC4wLjA.
Good mam
If you could give some tips on playing Schubert's Serenade (Standchen). The left hand looks complicated.
Can you please make the video on bread and butter by mozart
Sadly I've failed the sustain pedal task as I only have one of those switchy pedals that a guitarist might use. 😢. However, I do have a Yamaha MX88 with their excellent graded weighed keyboard. So not all bad.
Hi, I'm a total beginner and short on money. I was wondering if you could tell me what is the essential equipment I should buy to start playing piano efficiently and how much would it cost me (approximately). Thanks
Hi Kaitlyn is there a reason why some classical music uses the key in its title where modern music doesn't
Am having challenges to move in thirds please. Am asking for a chart
I would like to order the sheet music of these three pieces but can’t find the link!
12 of the most beautiful piano pieces . Ballade No . 1 ; Chopin . Les Adieux ; Beethoven . Italian Concerto ; Bach . Liebestrum ; Liszt . Fantasies in F minor ; Chopin . Moment Musicaux no . 4 ; Rachmaninoff Claire de lune ; Debussy . Moonlight Sonata ; Beethoven .
Yes, the first 31 measures of Fur Elise are recognizable and are fairly easy to learn and play. But beginning in measure 32 (and through 36) there are 32nd notes, which are very difficult to learn and keep the correct tempo. And again, measures 61 to the end are 16th notes in a somewhat repeating pattern, but difficult for a beginner to learn while keeping the tempo and melody in the right hand. Other than that, yes, Fur Elise is a good beginner piece.
Sure, but playing the main riff is great for beginners, so I still encourage this because that brings them a lot of joy. :)
I learned piano through classical music. before that i played guitar and only pop music.
I'm glad that you're finally giving people a taste for classical music. I recommend everyone who wants to get serious about playing the piano to deal with it. Classical music in particular is so rich in wonderful pieces of all levels of difficulty.
However my teacher always drummed it into me, use original or Urtext versions. No arrangements. The composer has something in mind with every note.
And especially Bach's Prelude totally loses its character with this arrangement.
I am from Vienna in Austria, 70 years old.
how do i start
Indonesia
help me with. In church of Tchaikovsky from the Album for the young. i play cello and violin round 70 years.
Hi Kaitlyn Davidson
Für Elisa there are only 12 measures? on what you show there is a whole sheet
Hi! As I said in the video, I was only teaching excerpts. The full sheet music is in the description of the video. :)
I'm dying to learn Debussy's two arabesques.
Thank you!
I thought I can’t play the Classic because I was too old. But you make it so easy for us old fart! (An old Navy term for beginning an old sailor or someone really old)
Thank you.
🙏🙏🙏
Question how does one memorize a whole classical piece of music without looking at the sheet music?
Do they keep practicing it until they can do it by memory?
And can we still do it if we are over the hill at 75 but still young at heart at 25?
Jack Benny once said:
“Age is all about mind over matter, if you don’t mind it doesn’t matter.”
Who is Jack Benny? Look it up.
Take Care and God Blessings to you.
🙏🙏🙏
Oh, I know what an "old fart" is 🤪
Yes, they keep practicing until they can do it by memory. I am a classical pianist - It's normal for a professional to spend many months on an advanced classical piece... learning it and then memorizing it.
@@pianoly WOW!
Time to start practicing and memorizing. I don’t have much time.
My brain cell keep leaking out each day.
Cotton balls stuffed in the ears doesn’t help.
Another question:
I am trying to find this piece of music called:
“The Butterfly Lover”
It is base on a Chinese love story that my mom use to hum it went she happy. She passed over to the other side a couple of months ago and I wanted to learn the piano piece so I can play it every time I think of her.
It has becoming popular in the Western Orchestra.
If you can direct me in find this piano piece of music I will be most grateful.
Thank you and God Bless. 🙏🙏🙏

In that case what
Yuma Wang did in playing all three Rachmaninov
“Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini” is remarkable. Is she that good? Thanks and take care and be safe.
🙏🙏🙏
It helps you memorize a piece if you have a knowledge of the Circle of Fifths, which moves harmony counterclock wise, or backwards.
around the Circle. A "straight run" of harmony spells out BEAD,G,C.,F
(think a necklace of musical beads, for a prompt. As you play thru the "flats" or left side of the Circle, simply add the flat: i.e., Bflat, Eflat, Aflat,Dflat, Gflat. That progression, in any key, is 7,3,6-2,5,1 (ex. in CMajor that would be B,E,A-D,G,C.
There's more theory in understanding the Circle (much more! I call it a devine miracle, God's amazing gift of perfect musical structure!

Thank you for explaining it to me.
I just have to figure out the terminology terms that you just presented it to me. I am still working on “ Every, Good, Boy, Does, Fine, and F.A.C.E.😅😅😅
But I thank you for the information.
🙏🙏🙏
By the way I just brought a piano keyboard:
Donner DDR-80
88 key weighted keyboards
Full size
Triple pedal
Sheets music Stand
Plus I ordered a piano bench. Tired of using my iPad to play. It was temporary.
Also ordered the sheet music for:
“The Fight of the Bumblebee.”
It will be one of my first piece I’m going to work on. I just hope my fingers are fast enough so that the bumblebee can take off. 😂
Anyway, it is my hope to be able to play this piece.
Take Care and Be Safe
and God Bless
🙏🙏🙏
