Back in the 1970’s, I used to watch the weekly Waltons show. Today I watch the Hollars . Both families loving one another, but in this case, the Hollars are a real family , living life, and loving one another, not a movie family. It’s such a joy to watch them interact as a family.❤️ They are great role models.

Every Saturday when the kids were busy watching cartoons..my husband and I would watch cooking shows. We would channel surf till we found something good. He’d take notes. We’d get ready and go shopping. Our rule was. We had to follow the recipe the first time. Then it became ours. He was my helper and we would spend the weekend together in the kitchen. Loved it. Miss it. Kids would ask. Why is dad here in the kitchen? Because he loves me was my answer. It was our time. ❤

For your mosquitoes, equal parts of beeswax Shea butter and coconut oil add citronella oil. They will set up into a bar. And you just rub them on you where you need mosquito protection. You will not sweat it off because of the beeswax.

I just finished watching this video and I enjoyed the Buggie Bustle……here there back and forth like she’s doing it with you. I have a grd daughter that turned 18 and was running a coffee cafe but started working with her uncle building cupboards, furniture and remodels….she now works full time with him because she loves the challenges and working with wood creating. He does beautiful work and has high end jobs all the time. He told me she is the best worker he has ever had over any guys. On time, never complains and stays till the job is done everyday. Does clean up fast and thinks ahead on what he’ll need. She loves her job and I can see maybe down the road her having her own business. Since he doesn’t have children she is the daughter he would have wished for. Girls are getting into building a lot now. I have a few foreign vlogs I watch whereas woman are creating beautiful works by themselves…so you go girl and learn those useful traits…🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Here's a tip from a bred, born and raised southern grandmother. I've noticed that those of you who migrated from the dry arid areas and have put down roots in the southern hot and humid areas really suffer in the humidity and heat. All the old timers wore loose cotton kayaky pants. They wore loose LONG SLEEVED cotton kayaky shirts and kept their shirt tales tucked in. They also wore white loose cotton linen t shirts and cotton linen boxers. They also wore wide brimmed straw hats. When you dress like that, and you sweat, your undergarments actually keep you cool. Because the pants and shirts were loose, air circulation was what kept you cooler. And when you get a breeze, boy it really felt good cause your undergarments were damp from your sweat so it'd really cool you down. Another thing to remember is no bidy had air conditioners till the 70's to 80's. To better acclimate yourselves, start using fans at night and keep all your windows open. During the days, if it's below 80, use fans in house. Keep the windows closed on the sunny side of the house, and open on the shady side. And folks, contrary to msm, it ain't no hotter this generation than it was in the 50's or 60's or 70's. See, we're all spoiled and used to air conditioners. And if you look at many of the historical southern homes, and many of homes in the south east bow, there's trees all around the homes for shade. People planted trees to help keep their homes cooler. Usually on the south and south west side. And in many homes they used attic fans. Huge fans inserted in the ceiling. Reversible air flow. And man you talking keeping cool, those fans would keep your house so cool and breezy! But anyway, just passing on some old time tips on how to stay cooler in the hot and humid south southeast. 103° but only 14% humidity. The sun is so hot, 2500' elevation. My last home was 500' and at the normal 110 to 121° summer days were much cooler. Made myself sick working outside for 3 hours early this morning Blessings, julie
When I cook a full meal for 1 like that. I try to cut the portions down, but still end up eating the same meal 3 or 4 days in a row. So I usually make the meals I love, and tastes better every time you heat it up. I can't wait for cold weather, because I love my homemade chili. It's tastes better each time I make a bowl. It's been a learning curve, as I cooked for over 20 years for between 5-7 people, not counting Holidays.

I recently discovered, by accident, storing mushrooms in paper bag in fridge will dry them and keep them edible. Stores for weeks in my fridge, months... but I'm one person and my fridge doesn't get a family workout. (And it's blessed)

They have a store with produce and homemade peach ice cream, peach enchiladas (OMG), a restaurant , and a museum full of many old cars, tractors, and other antiques. Lots of rocking chairs where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream. Such a cool place!

Horseradish is grown in alsace culturally, we grate it otherwise it is too strong, you guys had me in stitches! I thought it was common knowledge that horseradish is fiery? 😅 Horseradish is also excellent with beef like beef tongue, with a creamy horseradish gravy, or any beef leftovers, I make them one day with rice, any leftovers with pasta. 😋

Here in the south, our athletes drink pickle juice if they vomit, or get leg cramps from the heat and humidity. It works wonders.
