    What happened to your last video about the V8 and towing? I watched it and went to comment and it had been taken down already. I was able to watch it once. It was a good video but you removed it.

      Didn't want any beef. Worknplay did a great job doing the video, did us all a favor and I didn't want any negativity sent his way. Now that worknplay and I spoke and we are one the same page, most likely that video is going back up or a revised version will be posted soon

    The rams have a sealed system to keep from getting condensation in the system. I only have a lowly 2014 Laramie 2500 but I got it with the air suspension and it still works great. I only have about 100k on it but there are no springs to help it so it is always using the airbags. I tow a 5th wheel regularly and haul relatively heavy load, (~2K lbs), a few times a month- never any issues.

    I got my 2018 Ram 3500 dually with the factory airbag system and love it. I Hot Shot with a PJ 35' + 5' and it rides like a Cadillac compared to the previous truck I owned.

    That’s because it’s Nitrogen and is a closed system!! That nipple is for adding nitrogen. The system does not pump outside air into the air bags. It pumps compressed nitrogen from that tank to the air bags and vice versa.

    I put a 7.5 gallon tank on my 3rd gen just because I felt like it. The system originally came with a 1 gallon, and I did that specifically for being able to run air accessories, like bags, fill tires, blow radiator out, filters, etc if I ever get in a pinch.

    Thank you for the information brother! I have a 2015 with factory air leveling system but my badge are in the rear coils so there just suspicious assist I believe. Do you know if you can add the Firestone bag system on top of the factory system or is it one or the other. I’d like to utilize the system that’s there and just add bage but I’m guessing that’s a no go.

  • @theantiqueactionfigure

    Thinking about adding aftermarket airbags to the rear of fourth gen 2500 which came with the auto leveling rear air suspension. I'm getting some porpusing still while hauling my 1200 lb tongue weight travel trailer but concerned about putting too much more tension on my Equalizer E4 bars. Thoughts from anyone with making mods to the factory auto leveling rear would sure be appreciated. Thank God for the back up camera by the way when I see the precious one's hanging out on the sidewalk!!!!

Nice while it worked but it’s not something i can services. I was surprise about your research your factory set.

    Got a 2020 ram 5500 rides super rough. I thought it would be smoother when im loaded but still super rough, every bump i hit i feel it in my back. My back is killing me bc of it. Also had a 17 ram 3500 was alot smoother, i tried putting firestone airbags in my 3500 just to c if i can get even a smoother ride it was worse with them on so i took them off. And no it wasnt bc i had to much air in them i tried from 70 psi to 20 it was still crazy ruff couldnt wait to take them off. Its just my 5500 has so many leaf springs that idn if airbags would help. If i could get my 5500 to ride like my 3500 i would be happy. Has anyone had the factory airbags on a 5500? If anyone had this issue lmk!

    So, I'm jumping on a '21 1500 Limited once available - which come with air bags. Anyone know of a hack to override the factory height to level the truck using the air bags, and even stop the truck from lowering at higher speed?

    • @bradtoepfer289
      @bradtoepfer289 Před 3 lety +1

      I have a 17, to remove the aero mode, you do it thru the uconnect. It's under suspension and a checkbox to override it doing it. To level it, you need to buy links. You pop off the factory links and install them and adjust a nut to level. It deceives the sensor.

    • @Subi_doo
      @Subi_doo Před rokem

      You don’t want to use the bags to do a leveling. You want to use a spacer and rear block. The bag is a secondary and shouldn’t be used as a lifting method. Skipping a rear block and and bag spacer, and using the bag itself as the lifting method, will result in a jarring ride.

    • @pddieselpower
      @pddieselpower  Před 4 lety +2

      Yep. Once the new trucks get updated they still use a little more then the 4th gens. But before you update the new ones they use twice as much def as the 4th gens.

    Are the factory air bags automatic, or, do you have to engage the on dash towing button.

    • @bradtoepfer289
      @bradtoepfer289 Před 3 lety

      Not sure on the 2500s. On my 1500, the load leveling is automatic. Then you can raise manually with the dash button for off-road mode. But it only raises to 2 predetermined heights.

    I put the Firestone Air bags with compressor and remote on my 3500 dually. The remote control function is a joke. It’s extremely finicky and only works after several tries.
    Not to mention Firestone customer service is a joke. Anyone looking for airbags do yourself a favor and avoid this setup.
