Sometimes in farm areas like that, those levees and ditches are mowed for hay contracts that farmers bid on. It will lead to seemingly overgrown situations like you had. They don't want the hay rained on after it is cut, so if there are frequent storms, it will take a while to get cut. -former hay farm kid
Just in time to the hotel before the storm! Tators, thank you for showing what a resupply looks like and for what it looks like for two people and for a three day period. That was very helpful to learn that. Safe travels to you both!🙏🙏♥️♥️
Fireflies are really great to see! Much enjoying the give and take between you two--a fascinating balancing act as you alternate roles of optimism and pessimism, enjoyment and misery. Keeps the whole dynamic in balance! Hike on! Tortoise
When using those red well faucets, make sure to let it run for a minute before filling your containers. It siphons out the water once you turn it off. And can suck. Just a little bit of groundwater back in when you start it up. So you should let it run for about 30 seconds before filling your containers.
So disappointed that this video wasn’t entitled, “Sunny with a chance of Nachos”. I grew up in rural Illinois and fondly remember being able to see the night sky, Milky Way and all of the fireflys. Thunderstorms were the best part of the day because we had no indoor AC until I left for college.
__ It's nice to see that the American Discovery Trail shows you so much of the history of our great land including statues of important characters from history like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln and Popeye.

It's funny how Ai doesn't make human mistakes like unevenly buttoning up a shirt, or forgetting to zip up a fly; but makes backpacks without sternum straps and hip belt pockets that can hold 2L's.
The thing about that guy who got sprayed in slurry is, there was apparently an actual campsite 400 yards away in one direction and 600 in the other. Not that I condone spraying someone in slurry, but it's hard to discern the bigger idiot in that situation.
As much as I loved the Pacific crest Trail I really don’t think I could do it in the current highly crowded environment. And there are just so many other trails out there I want to do and such limited time.

Wow, that photo of the fireflies and the stars was absolutely gorgeous!
I just wish I’d had my nice camera so I could’ve captured just how many there were

You can get a GR3 and it is extremely light

That bike packer in the UK broke one of the golden rules. Brake camp at dawn.Great show Guys.Much respect.

Despite the talk of rain, I notice that that guy took his Chevy to the levee but the levee was dry.
Thanks, great going taters. ✌🏻👊🏼
Some beautiful shots, albeit dangerous ones !
The Editing at 7:15 was top notch, I lol'd irl.
true, the "surprise you" and then boom the truck
chester Illinois is the home of Popeye!
History comes alive!

Thank goodness there were all those semi trucks to provide you with a breeze.

I think on the river the steering committees are called rudder committees.
Maybe the rain will cool off the temperature a bit. Praying for safe travels for both of you.
If you need trail magic when you get close to the Katy Trail start at Machens, I can help.
Nice resupply! Where’s the Hiker wine?
Considering the struggles with water (dehydration, gallon water carry’s) on this trail wine sadly hasn’t been as appealing
nice editing
Hey Y'all. Yeah, if I was setting out for a 20+ mile walk in a thunderstorm, I'd sleep in till at least 8:30.
I don’t know who is in that thumbnail but it’s fantastic!
It is suprisngly difficult to make the meta generator show a guy being happy
The one thumbnail looked like Forrest Gump.
It's funny how Ai doesn't make human mistakes like unevenly buttoning up a shirt, or forgetting to zip up a fly; but makes backpacks without sternum straps and hip belt pockets that can hold 2L's.
I am always highly entertained by all of the little nonsensical details it throws in

They should have a statue of Sally Hemings next to one of Popeye to really flesh out some history.

What would have made Matt so happy in that porch-guy encounter? If Taters hung out with some guy?
Um, lol.
That looks like a Taters stand in double for the front thumb clip

Per the Tater soliloquy on getting away from roads, the ancient David Thor proverb says:
All roams lead to roads.

For our Chinese listeners, the phrase "alarm goes off" means "alarm goes on." Hopefully that helps.
I thought all Walmarts had a produce section.
Day 82. “We stopped for nachos.” As there is 4-5 barley pops on the table.
Hydration is important!
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes I agree! And applaud your efforts to stave off scurvy with limes.

Home.
The string cheese and pepperoni won't go bad without cooling?
There is so much salt and sausage and pepperoni it will last for a good while. The cheese gets a bit iffy after a few days in the heat
Matt are you ever going to do the PCT again and record it
As much as I loved the Pacific crest Trail I really don’t think I could do it in the current highly crowded environment. And there are just so many other trails out there I want to do and such limited time.
Yeah just do it again quick. Should be easy cuz you already practiced it once.
The picture of you two appears to be imposters....?
They're not real imposters. They're fake imposters.

My joke on jokes is if I say something controversial people ask me if I'm trying to be funny and I say "nah, it comes easy."
Those roads suck. Very dangerous with all the morons out there 😣
Is blondie hiking with Forrest?
This is why I should read the comments after the video, not before.
Why does Matt look like Charles Manson in the thumbnail? (Or a Beatle, perhaps I should have gone with that analogy instead)
AI is just creepy, that’s why..
Matt went home with Taters a couple of months ago. The rest of the trip has been AI generated.

In French, levee means get up early and have a meeting in bed. Seriously.
I like this channel a lot but I'm absolutely begging you stop with the AI images
Allen Iverson?
Your AI thumbnail sucks please do not use another
I watch your video for the realism not fakeism
Unless that part is real and the walking parts are fake.
