    Highlights:
1:52 - Karta Polaka - document confirming belonging to the Polish nation. 85% of all applicants were residents of either Belarus or Ukraine (but this is an old data).
2:53 - That Eastern country - probably Russia?
4:31 - Red and white - opposition groups have continued to use the flag with this colors, though its display in Belarus has been restricted by the government of Belarus under Alexander Lukashenko, which claims it is linked with Nazi collaboration due to its use by Belarusian collaborators during World War II. The white-red-white flag has been used in protests against the government, most recently the 2020-2021 Belarusian protests, and by the Belarusian diaspora.

"Karta Polaka" - I'd add also quite a lot of residents of Kazakhstan, but it is true that many of them already moved to Poland in the last 2 decades and lately it is more popular in Belarus and Ukraine, and even in some parts of Russia (in places where people were forcibly sent from Polish lands that Russia had conquered in the last two centuries, like Syberia). This document may be the basis for the repatriation process, which is acquiring citizenship and assistance in settling in Poland, if a person with this document decide to start it.
Recently, Lukashenko said that he will require people employed in state-owned enterprises and state offices to renounce this document, otherwise it would make employment opportunities for holders of this document much more difficult - so he announced repressions.

@@nexor7809 It's not for anyone. Any person who claims to be Polish or has Polish roots has to prove it. Ivan Ivanovich Ivanov can get it if one of his grand parents was Polish or both great grandies was. Moreover, he must demonstrate at least basic knowledge of Polish culture, history and geography.
Karta Polaka doesn't do much. It's easier to get a visa, easier to extend your stay in Poland, easier to obtain citizenship. There are also discounts on museum tickets. There's nothing to tear your clothes about.

Very interesting video, thank you very much!
It is positively surprising that the perception of the actual situation in their country differs significantly from that of the people in Russia, as the answers of Oleg and others show.
It is also pleasing for me as a European to see that they feel more connected to the people in Ukraine and other Eastern European countries, i.e. they see themselves as Europeans. That speaks in favour of a different perception than the one that seems to exist (no longer) in Russia! Very interesting video, thank you for that!

Oleg brought up an interesting point about the relationship between a dictator and an alcoholic. There some good articles/videos online about the history of vodka and the interplay with Russian society over the past 4 centuries or so. Tolstoy said alcohol is a poison and it just always seems like whoever can control the vodka controls the people. Sad and fascinating at the same time.

@@godneptune2214 You are right, I wasn't trying to compare who drinks more. What I was saying is that the history of modern-day Russia has had some interesting connections to how various rulers and government types have all regulated and controlled vodka in different ways. The drinkers in society get drunk on the vodka. The people making it and controlling it get drunk on money and power. Other countries have their own issues too.

As a Belarusian if I was asked these type of questions I would refuse to answer... As for Oleg I wish him all the best, because he told enough to be accused of libeling the President of Belarus and it's a crime in our country. Article 368 of the criminal code of the Republic of Belarus - punishment is up to 4 years of prison service. And, unfortunately, hundreads of our citizens were accused of it and now are imprisoned due to this acticle.
As for our future I'm convinced that without changes in Russia it's impossible to change the way of our country. But we have no other choice but to be a bridge between East and West and I believe that sooner or later we will be.
