This actually happened to my family once. We were all leaving Target and we all got into a van that was exactly the same as ours. Same model, same color, they even had the same car seat in the same spot. My dad even unlocked it using our key. We all just sat there for a moment trying to figure out what was off. It was clean. Too clean. And there were clear foot mats in the back seat. We all collectively just went, "Umm.. This isn't our car..." And we got out. Looked down the parking lot and saw our car. Got in ours and pretended like we never touched someone elses lol. Most surreal moment of my life. Till this day I still wonder if that other family were like doppelgangers of us or something.

I accidentally got into the wrong Honda Odyssey at a show I went to because our’s and theirs were parked next to each other smh
I just had a flashback to highschool. My mom was picking me up from an after school activity, and a gray Honda Odyssey pulls up. I go to open up the back door to throw my backpack in, and I pull the handle and the door starts sliding open automatically. I think to myself, "Wait, mom's car doesn't have that feature", as the door is opening to some lady in the front seat staring at me.

manufacturers only have a couple dozen to a hundred different keys, so it really isnt that unlikely to be able to unlock a different car from the same model (especially for stuff like the Panther platform its pretty common)
