My octopus stopper arrived in the mail today! haha. I've never seen any videos discussing surface lines for tying to fixed buoys or to the buoys of other divers. There's also the whole mess of etiquette and setting up your own fixed buoys. Not everyone has a boat and can drift dive.

Thanks for the video ....but what about the bottom plate? Do you not use that?

No, it is important for competition (they put tags on it), but not nessasary for the training sessions

Thank you so much for this! I wanted to ask about the float bottom weight. When travelling to remote places, we don't have the luxury of taking on 10kg of weight for the buoy alone, do you have any hack for this? What to do if you don't have weights on you?

Good question! Almost everywhere you can find a dive center, which for a small fee can rent you a few weights for the bottom weight!

@@KAIZENFREEDIVING Thanks for the answer, believe it or not, I've been to several smaller places where the dive centre either refused to lend it or the island did not have one in the first place. I think it's interesting to think about a solution. Filling a big water bottle with sand?

I never thought about it...but yeah, probably something filled with send/stones will do the job.
