You can learn on this video a quick way to make your own bottom weight for Open Water Freediving. A bottom weight is an essential piece of Freediving equipment for the open water session. You connect it to your freediving line and make it vertical and tight. Usually, I prefer to use 7-8 kg for my bottom weight

Great video! Really helpful! Thank you Sergey ❤️🙏🏻
You are welcome mate👍
Thank you for the video, very helpful
Love these videos. Thank you.
Thank you!
Great explaination and how to video. But why make bottom weight like this? I just use a cast iron kettle bell and I tie a knot under the bottom plate to make a loop. Then I use a bull hitch, it looks similar to a double half hitch but you go around an extra time. When bull hitch is tightened down it doesn't slide around. Kettle bell is easy to carry around it has a handle built into it. I am sure this method works well but for me I like the kettle bell better. I have two kettle bells one is 25 lbs for free imersion and one is 10 lbs for bifins or no fins. Thanks for videos just sharing what works best for me.
Maybe I am missing an advantage of this style?
Hi Chris. Sure, kettle bell can be used, no problem :) Our option a bit cheaper and also can be easily adjusted if needed.
Are those 2kg weights or 1kg weights?
We have 0.8 or 1.2/1.3 here at Crystal. So in total I like to have about 7 kg for the bottom weight
@@KAIZENFREEDIVING Cool, thanks for the response. I hate a light weight for FIM. It's true some beginners pull too hard, but if they pull really slowly, they also might never get anywhere.
For what is it use?
When we freedive in the sea, we need weighted line, so use "bottom weight" for it
