Sorry second
Darn
Some of you wanted to see the glass smash, and so did I. So I actually went to the desert and damage tested these things to the point of breaking. Epic! Editing that video today, and will have it up next week. (The purpose of this experiment was to see if it would implode on its own under normal working conditions)
Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" nice you should do old pc computer hacks
hey where is the giveaway link??
thanks we love u grant thompson thanks for giving us such a wonderdull videos thanks man !

I came here to see a vacuum chamber implode I feel deceived.
Well we got to see a bottle in a vacuum chamber explode... Kinda backwards, but at least something got broken..!
Clicked on the vid and got a heart attack. I miss that guy

How does liquid nitrogen react in a vacuum chamber. Let's see. I mean, if water boils down because of such low pressure, how will nitrogen react?
LIKE if you'd see it!
so cool idea
Umbra Games as my opinion maybe the vacuum chamber will keep on sucking the gas of liquid nitrogen which is boiled and vaporized.
Umbra Games I think cody's lab did that, but I'm don't know for sure.
Umbra Games a
Umbra Games that's a bad idea. It evaporates and thus will raise the pressure inside the jar. You'll just get it to evaporate away quicker and freeze his air pump as it pumps super cooled nitrogen
Throw a piece of dry ice in lava.
Fr3akymet4l he can't get lava that easily!!

If your worried about shrapnel and such. just cut a peice of that acryllic tube and have it around the glass incase it does go boom it will be contained.
Hey, are those batarangs?
Grant Thompson - "The King of Random"
Yup
A buddy bought them for me in florida. O only have two of the four left but i also make a lot of things like knives, swords, ninja stars, and so on. Amateur blacksmith.
Aaron Mackay is it possible to make the acrylic tube into a vacuum? Well I guess one of the sides aren't sealed 🤔

I said this in your SILICONE VACUUM CHAMBER video, but as long as you have a SIMPLE grasp on the SECOND LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS, you would know what would've happened!
what happens if you put oobleck in a vacuum chamber? Will it stay liquid or will it turn solid?
willl it make a trypophobia reaction?
???
The Lego Mewtwo
love this idea he should do this
Depending on the pressure, if it's high enough to make the water boil, then it would boil away.
The Lego Mewtwo that's a great idea
Put a wireless mic in the vaccum chamber and maybe it makes some kind of a sound because of the different atmosfere level.
MarkoTheGamer sound doesn't travel through a vacuum
It does travel though solids though.. the mic will probably be touching some surface inside the chamber.
M3TR01DFANBOY I knew that but for some reason I thought it would work, maybe it might because the pressure is getting lower slowly?
M3TR01DFANBOY sound doesn't but some stuff that makes a sound would, like an explosion.
MarkoTheGamer your not very smart are you
I recently made a vacuum chamber using an identical cookie jar. Was very concerned that it would implode. Now that I've seen your videos, I'm more confident that it will not. Nevertheless, I built a Plexiglas cover to surround it because I'll be doing demos for small kids. Thanks for the videos! ! !
The bottle popped because atmospheric pressure is actually around 15psi, which counteracts the 50psi in the bottle. Remove the atmospheric pressure and the pressure inside the bottle will have less force holding it in technically, along with the water within the bottle boiling raising the interior pressure. Love the videos man!
Grant Thompson - "The King Of Random" What happens when you put molten aluminum in liquid nitrogen?
DizzyEmperor0 it would get slightly colder
DizzyEmperor0 check out The Backyard Scientist he's done that experiment
I know it's a bit cruel but... a fly in a vacuum chamber
GFluXX he's put scorpions in a vacuum chamber
Julian Zamora when?
no i mean its a request
Julian Zamora Really? can you link me the video?
I think it would be neat to add small tidbits like "the reason the bottle expands is because of Boyle's law, which is an inverse relationship between volume and pressure". Although I knew this, some of your subscribers may not and I don't feel that it would take away from the entertainment aspect of the video as long as the explanation portion was short and sweet. thanks for all of the awesome videos!
can't wait to see what you do with the glass vaccums!!! :D
I miss the old Grant.
Don't we all...
ChaosBelow same he used to upload different useful content like life hacks and what would happen when, now he just does the same thing
he needs to upload frequently because of CZcams's new algorithms
Grant's single life hack was more entertaining than all of these...
Am I only one who knows that this all started with LEGO Gummy Candies?
Yep
Thanks for linking the cookie jars.

Imagine a vacuum chamber running inside a vacuum chamber.
What happens if you put silicone in liquid nitrogen?
Aravindhan Tulsi it freezes lmao

Aravindhan Tulsi It will heat up the silicone.
Aravindhan Tulsi I wrote that first
Correct!
Hello Mr.Grant Tompson i have a request can you do ''Touch Powder'' in vaccum chamer please because you said is very sensitive that even a feather can iginte it what about preassure
Please do it
nitrogen triiodide does it react to glass?
I have not very knowledge at science guys but i hope Mr.Grant thompson will try it
No it doesn't react witch glass. It probably wouldn't even explode in a vacuum, maybe it becomes even more stable...
Hi Grant, I am loving your vacuum videos, you need to put an ice cube inside the vacuum to see how it reacts, I am curious to see if it sublimes.
Grant, you really need to do some experiments that involve the Slow Mo Guys!
You should wrap a layer or two of clear tape around the outside. Press it down neatly so no air bubbles get in to make a clear almost invisible layer.
That way if it implodes there is a little bit of structure left (obviously the tape wont shatter) to hold it together and not send glass flying everywhere. Kind of like how car windshields work. Obviously you would lose the airtight seal but I figure it would reduce the amount of glass that flies around the room.
Dry ice in a vacuum chamber.

Grant no matter what anyone tells you about if your channel is crappy keep doing what you're doing you bring a smile to my face with the constant uploads l love you
My anxiety rises as the bottle rises
Could you please put dry ice in it?
Kevin Mordt it'll just disapear
+mohammed albawardi it will liquidity under pressure.
Kevin Mordt are you sure? Because i can't see that happening
+mohammed albawardi The king of random did a video before, but it was very unprofessional, so I want to see him do it again, this time with a vacuum chamber.
Kevin Mordt imma watch it •-•
Contact the Slow Mo Guys for a slow motion video on the implosion.
Dukefazon yes pls
Dukefazon or…he could buy his own
Grant you can also build a vacuum chamber without having to buy a expensive pump. If you reverse the check valve on a bicycle pump when it pumps, instead of pumping out air, it's sucks it in creating a vacuum. I don't know if this helps you but it may help others who want to build one and are on a budget
can this thing fix pingpong balls ?
I'm way too late but I'm still gonna answer, nope.
Unless you find a way to keep the pressure on your ball while playing with it

Hi Grant Thompson, now that you have transparent vacuum chambers, what will happen if you put LIQUID NITROGEN in the vacuum chamber?
It's a cool idea and I think it's s cool to watch too
you would get solid nitrogen, if you really want to see it now, here is a video of just that: watch?v=c0rK2bLTimQ
Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" can you put dry ice in vacum chamber to maybe make dry water?
cool
actually cold
Abdullah Arif *Dry Water*?
... How would that work water is wet
.....is that even possible
It would be possible - CO2 sublimes. This means it turns directly from a solid to a gas and visa versa. There is no in between.
A video on about 100 bath bombs in a pool would be super cool
Collab with the Slow-Mo Guys!
you should make something with supercooled magnets, like a hoverboard or something
Awesome as always!
I love that this video came out today because i learned and did a lab in Chem today about this about Boyle's Law
Grant, you have an awesome vacuum chamber. You should try to achieve and film the triple point of different substances!
Freeze something in liquid nitrogen then put it in a microwave
Justin Advils yes plz
Justin Advils the on,y thing would happen is that it would barely crack. If you ever put a frozen dinner inside of the microwave, that is what's going to happen.
When the bottle inflates say, "BOING!"
you should put various foods in the vacuum chamber such as twinkies, burgers, fries, and popcorn
What happens if you put baking soda with vinegar into the vacuum chamber?
Imagine what that can do to a human body 💀💀🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊🙊
Basically ur head will grow bigger, ur blood will boil and then usually ur head pops.
prebenkul
your head wont grow bigger, your blood would bubble and you would suffocate.
Omar the spit will boil off your tongue and the water from your eyes, imagine how that feels
+Micah Boarts It won't feel hot or even burn tho. You'll probably feel some kind of pressure or lack of pressure and suffocate. Also blood will boil so imagine what that would do to your heart and brain.
Sexy Pineapple the idea of boiling blood sounds sick i dont know why
"Thanks for watching?" Thanks for sharing!
The difference between atmospheric pressure and a perfect vacuum is 14.7PSI. Pulling a vacuum around the bottle only increases the pressure inside the bottle by 14.7 PSI.
Put a water ballon (fully filled) in the vacuum chamber
Water is not compressible so you shouldn't see any change!
was the fluid realy boiling? can you make pasta in it?
David Stedile for pasta you need heat. boiling just a changing state of matter from liquid to air.
Yeah, the boiling doesn't cook things, the heat does. That's why you have to use a pressure cooker if you're climbing on a high mountains.
it is literally getting colder look up codey's video
as pressure decreases the boiling point does also so if your pressure gets low enough the water can boil but be cold as ice. so no cooking noodles.
+travis yeah man exactly grant actually said that in the video so if david payed more attention he would knew
Okay, so we have seen you make a vacuum chamber. Now lets see you make a high pressure chamber!
You still have to be careful. At the minimum you should wrap the vessel with clear packing tape to both protect the glass from sharp objects and to give it a little shock resistance and to protect you if the glass should implode; The tape will hold the glass together a bit on implosion. The best method is to make a shield of hardware cloth. The glass is a projectile on implosion and can do some big damage to the human body. BE CAREFUL.
what would happen if you used the hho generator and filled up a ball with hydrogen and oxygen gas? then light it:)
Big Boom! Is that a request?
Try silicon in liquid
Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" The bigger the boom, the better
Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" I hope so ☺
Big boom!
If you lower the boiling point of Liquid Nitrogen by decreasing the Atmospheric Pressure in the vacuum chamber, how will it boil?
I feel like the number of vacuum chamber videos is about to increase. :)
Rest in peace , King
You should do a video with the vacuum chamber to see what happens to a dry and wet sponge.
can you burn a sugar rocket in that vacuum
Unless you have something that's self-oxidizing. black powder would burn in a vacuum.
Zach Coleman it's not showing me any of your replies, I only see them in the email notification.
but anyway, I never said the sugar rocket would burn, I don't know the chemistry of it. but anything reaction that is self-oxidizing, meaning it generates oxygen, should work under a vacuum. heat black powder with, say, a light to the point of ignition, and it should burn.
Zach Coleman it says "unless you have something self-oxidizing." that's not saying it [sugar rocket] will burn. it's saying it will IF the reaction is self-oxidizing, which I don't know.
read it again. There's a period in there, and no "the." it's two sentences.
"Unless you have something self oxidizing."
[as an example]: "black powder would burn under vacuum"
12799MaDeuce it does have potassium nitrate so maybe
Hey Grant, try adding to this experiment by using the water that was "boiling" in the vacuum chamber to cook something.
Great video. What material you use for the top. And what is the thickness? Also, i have trouble to find the right metal connector for the top.
pink is the new red 😀
Nope
2v1l no it is
no
Dario Faletar yes
I dont get it
Will a firework still light if it was put in liquid nitration?
Yes. There's oxidizer so it will burn just fine.
theLuigiFan0007 i think if you light the green stuff on the firework, the bombs will be louder. But blackpowder needs to be, not freezed,.
HackedByTurkey
Yeah, solid explosives and fuels will burn fine, but not granulated ones like black powder.
here's an idea: put ninja turtle slime In a pressurized plastic bottle, and put that in the vacuum. I would love to see that happen, or maybe you can come up with something better?
There was a crack forming right as you said "Maybe it's not gonna explode," then it happened and i still jumped 😂
Can you use this system while attempting to pull oxygen from your liquid aluminium? The kind from your casting plant pot [: Im curious to see what the pressure and heat will do inside the glass jar. Youre great keep the hype!
You should make an aluminum chicken
RIP bro love you
You should wrap see-through tape around the glas jar. It would provide some protection from the glas in the case that it were to explode
I always wonder! Is the water "boiling" warm or is it room tempature?
UniBuilds the water is at normal temperature. Because the pressure is gone, the water can move much more easier.
Yougo okay, thank you. Finaly i understand!;)
UniBuilds room
I'd like to see you make droplets of really flammable liquids with liquid nitrogen, and then try to ignite them.
George Sheaff that'd look neat
This thing is new to me. How the plastic bottle crushes back after removing the vacuum was amazing. I still don't understand the reason though.
you should keep drawing a vacuum with water in an open dish and a thermometer in the water in the chamber. after it starts boiling you'll see it's temperature start dropping followed by it freezing. this demonstrates the principle used in refrigeration.
It doesn't. Don't watch the vid.
Well someone doesn't get the point of this channel at all. XD
No the point of the channel is to show the stuff, not to talk about it.
fair enough to the not putting a hammer next to the thumbnail.

King of random, great video. We'd like to see you pull a vacuum on an electrical plasma. We've done similar on a smaller scale, but never this scale.
Man, I sure do wonder, if hit a glass vacuum chamber with a hammer will it break. ITS A COMPLETE MYSTERY!
What happens if you put oobleck into the vacuum chamber?
What would happen if the glass container broke?
Home Style i mean as it would have have built up pressure
are you able to extract energy from compression and decompressing of air and air pressure or atmospheric pressure changing
