Chris Stapleton is one of those people who is just blessed. He was a 4 season varsity high school athlete, salutatorian of his graduating class, went to Vanderbilt for engineering, before he dropped out to pursue music. On top of all that he is a genuinely good and decent person.

Chris Stapleton has had my ears in his clutch, musically, since I heard "Tennessee Whiskey." All of his songs are filled with pure heart and soul, but if you ever just want to be in your feelings on any given night, just put "Cold" on repeat and ride that blissful wave.

I adore Chris Stapleton, but there was this moment, when I closed my eyes, I heard Chris Cornell singing. Made me cry. Sometimes singers just.....touch your soul.
stapleton is a bit more fine tuned and very soulful, even tho yeah cornell was too. Got to see audioslave once and cornell put on such an energetic performance, what a stage presence

A genius I’ve followed for years since he was in the Steeldrivers and if you can see him LIVE, you must. It’s life changing. Notice, you’ll never see her (Morgane, his wife and backup vocal on every track!) take his eyes off of him when they perform together. Make sure you listen to all of his solo work and her version of You Are My Sunshine. You’ll cry. He is a master of music and a living legend. I’m so glad he’s getting all of the recognition he deserves. He’s a humble, kind, and true person. One of a kind.

Never really liked country music but I ran across Chris’s NPR tiny desk and was blown away. I’m now a fan.
Check out some older Steeldrivers albums. That’s where I got hooked on Chris. Not a huge country fan but love bluegrass instrumentals.

Like any genre, you just have to dig past the garbage that's popular on the radio to find the gold. Check out The Dead South, Sturgil Simpson, Tyler Childers, Jason Isbell, The Civil Wars or Colter Wall. All great country acts (and I'm saying this as a metal head).

I had the CMAs on the night he did “Fire Away”, but I had my back to the TV doing something else. The moment he started singing I spun around to watch, and I have been a fan since that night. Everyone else in his overlapping genres is playing for second place. He is a true generational talent.

Combination of country and rock! Cool!
Southern rock is a trip, if you like it you'll probably like many of his other songs, especially Cold. Others doing similar stuff in recent times include Whiskey Myers (I'd recommend "Stone," it's a gospel-infused Southern rock sound, or "Gasoline," a more straightforward country rock song), and Turnpike Troubadours ("Gin, Smoke, Lies," is probably their most popular rock-oriented track). There are lots of more punk rock inspired country-adjacent acts from Texas too, like Koe Wetzel (check out "Fuss & Fight," "Forever," or "Creeps") and Treaty Oak Revival ("See you in Court")
Definitely check out his southern rock album for The Jompson Brothers! Every song is a banger
Listen to Lynnerd Skynnerd, the Allman Brothers, the Band etc. if your digging that sound 👍

This is my second time hearing him. First time was with Stevie Wonder on an awards show. His soulful gospel singing style, his music tones are perfection. Plus he plays rock. He is in his own lane. 🎤

I first heard Chris when he performed “Parachute” on SNL many years back. I’ve been a fan ever since. He hasn’t lost a step. Incredible talent.

Starts out with excellent-sounding music. Great singing. Wife had fifth kid in 2019 & is beautiful. This band is one of those things in life I regret not having discovered earlier. I'd heard Blake Shelton mention Chris Stapleton on The Voice, but I never followed up on checkin' out his music. I'm a new fan.

Love that even the greats are human and sometimes make a flub. If you’re a musician you heard them. If you’re not when he shakes his head with a little smile, is when they happened. And I absolutely LOVE that they’re there!!! Those tiny imperfections make it even better. Too many performances are over produced with tracks and just come across sterile. This was just straight from the barrel goodness!!
