The toilet seat covers should get a life sentence
😂😂😂the most horrible and ridiculous thing
I just bought one! Now I’m so ashamed
OMG, those awful "sofas" with built-in cup holders and phone chargers should be banished to the bowels of the Earth. I want whoever created those to be charged AND convicted for crimes against humanity. Sentence: LIFE. Ugggh! 🤬
Men seem to love them especially when’ll with leather lol
I find it a bit horrifying to imagine that toilet lid covers and surround rugs might make a comeback.😒
The final word art example has me slack-jawed…. I always joked that if you have ‘Eat, Enjoy’ on your dining room wall, and ‘Sleep, Dream’ in the bedroom, shouldn’t you have ‘Piss, Poop’ in the bathroom? I guess someone didn’t get the joke!
That made me laugh! Good one.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
There used to be a show on bbc ‘how clean is your house’, and one of the hosts used to take samples of filth from a house and analyze them, and what she collected on the toilet seat covers and rugs was absolutely disgusting.
I can only imagine the nightmare of growth!
Faux plants blended with real ones are great! The real plants make the faux ones look real and disguise the real ones you’re killing. It helps keep costs and maintenance down but helps fill out a space. It works indoors and out.
I do this! I can’t keep a fiddle leaf fig or Triostar alive so I mix high quality fakes with my real easy-care plants!
I can't stand the Hermés throw blanket people get.
This is another really polarizing one!
I have had my Hermes blankets since the 90's. It has now become so 'trendy" which have me allocating them to the bedrooms lol .
It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't on display - but I know that's the point. The other problem is you know half of them are fake. No way some of these people spent $1800 on a throw.
I'm poor and even I find that cringe.
Hallelujah!! I’m so glad word art is over. I had the unpopular opinion for so long and now, influencers agree with me. Thank you.
LOL, "....this is giving Pompeii"
I’m glad someone got it 🤣🤣🤣
I rarely agree with everything that designers say, but I agree 100% with you on this one!
You are right on with all of them. Particularly the large leather/cloth sofa with the cup holder. Throw away the key if they have them in the formal family room. you can give them a break if the in the basement.
Agreed, i can let it slide in a basement tv room, but the size of them always throw off the scale of an entire room!
Faux plans are convenient if mase well. They are clean and easy to keep, but 1 or 2 is enough if needed. My main house is done in British Colonial Chinoiserie with genuine 18th/early 19th Century antiques and Baker reproductions., and 1 0r 2 tropical plants would be necessary. Also, another room is done in art deco, and a mirrored piece is almost a necessity - just one. Everything should be judged in its context and entirety, IMO.
Another plastic item that will end up, soon or later, in a landfill. At least, dead real plants end up in compost.
But I'm jealous about your Art Déco room.
Will not end up in a landfill. These are high end faux plants with real tree trunks. you cannot tell them from real even upon touching them. @@nathalie_desrosiers
Too funny!!!! I loved the Rae Dunn segment....I could not agree more; it drives me insane! Let's not forget to label every room in the house with it's intended use like: Bathroom, Pantry, Kitchen, Eat etc. LOL
You forgot "Gather" 😂😂😂
Also blessed, thankful, faith, home in huge letters
I know what Rae Dunn was thinking: we're gonna sell a shit-ton of this shit and make a ton of money. And they were correct. I worked for TJMaxx for a few months and we could not keep it on the shelves.
I live in a ground level apartment, and some parts are dark...a mix of live and faux plants does the trick (to my eye at least).
The toilet seat covers should equate to LIFE in prison w/no chance of parole!!!
I'm with you on the instructional kitchenware. Toilet seat covers! Why? Unless you change it every 4 hours?😂
Real plants get dust too, of course. You just wash them, which ever you have selected, raal or fake.
I love my fake plants. 1.) I don’t have a green thumb. 2.) I have cats.
I have real, but 2 fake because you ça not have it in room with no light 😅😆, a cat and many are toxic
A lot of real plants are toxic to cats and dogs, particularly some of the nicer ones. A good quality faux plant, although sometimes more expensive than the real version, can be a good alternative.
Emphasis on “good quality”
This is a must think for anyone getting real plants. I have two cats and a dog and I love real plants. I will not buy a new plant without checking online whether it's safe. So easy to do these days.
For sure I’ve mostly gone plantless because my kitties want to eat any and all.. and sooo so many are so toxic
@@selah7702 , that is for sure the most careful way to deal with it.
So is it OK that my ex fiancé gave me a fake diamond ring? I mean it was not cheap and was pretty…so why is it not OK….maybe just being fake is wrong
I agree with all. They’re maybe some nicer faux greenery but usually very expensive. Most I’ve seen in homes is the plastic-y ones.
I remember years ago in the 90’s, we took my parents to a restaurant . When the drinks came in Mason Jars, my father took my mother and left the restaurant 😮
hahaahah!
Mason jars as decor? No. But they are extremely useful for storage, they can be used with your blender or for canning.
@@mygoldennotebook2191 that’s right! Use them only for what they are made for. Storage and Canning! Not decor or as drinking glasses!
😂
Side note: my best friend’s family growing up only drank from mason jars. We used them at home for canning only. I could never understand why they drank from them. I assumed they were too poor for regular glasses. I was little so it was the only theory I could come up with. Ha.
This is hilarious 😂
I am a Mom. I hate Dunn dishware. Let's not include Mom's in bad decor pa'lease😂
What I hate the most is an etched glass door that says pantry. Expensive to change. I’ve not bought a house because of this. There were other things not liked, but this was the turning point.
I haven’t see this recently in any home but I respect your decision. I like a person who stands on principal 😂
Agreed! I hate the words on everything.
You are spot on. Nearly all of today's pop culture DIY's are tomorrow's trash. You can DIY, but only if you really know what you are doing. And Ray Dunn...OMFG. I'm sure she's a terrific person. But, Lord, save me from that cult. And I have (rarely, thank the Universe) been to parties where the toilet is encased in fabrics. I immediately leave. Seriously. And "Word Art" in a Kitchen that has a marble-topped autopsy table-sized island gives me the creeps. I feel like the owner is desperately trying to scream that they are "normal" despite their penchant for sadism.
hahahahha so true
😂 😂😂😂
Phew - I made it through without any infringements !!!
I'm not the most fashion conscious of people, so nice to know the house isn't too ickky.
I worry that I don't have any strands of wooden beads artistically draped around the place - is it too late ?
absolutely dragged me to hell over the mason jars 😭 a painfully accurate roast, and you're right, it's cuz they're cheap!
I can't stand Rae Dunn stuff, but I will admit - I bought two dog bowls at Marshalls because they were big and heavy - and yes - cheap. One says "Drink Up" the other says "Dinner". I really don't care about it. I only bought them because they were big and heavy and my dog won't push them across the floor while eating. But I realized - why the hell did they put words on the bowl describing what's in there? Dogs can't read.
Same shopping trip - I unknowingly bought a laundry basket and realized it was also Rae Dunn after I brought it home. I liked the white exterior and the blue striped interior. I didn't even see the word"Laundry" on it. Again - I'm looking the other way because that thing stays in the closet.
lol ilovedthe dog reading comment
My parents and sister-in-law have some of these and love them. The one I sort of have is mason jars and other recycled jars but they're holding art supplies and materials and not used as decor.
Then you're using mason jars the right way
Toilet seat covers are trying to make a comeback?? I had no idea! As a child of the 80’s … Don’t do it 😂😂 Great video! No hate, these are all right on! ❤❤
I laughed so hard. Agree with you on all. Some of which I’m guilty of. 😂 Keep them coming. Now you have to tell us what real plants to get that won’t die in my hands.
I got you, Snake plants, Pothos, and Corn trees, Stay away from ferns, cactus and succulents even if they appear to be easy. and fancy plants. Those two still require light and water but will survive with a lil care and a bit of sun
Phoenix! First, you are wonderful! Your sense of humor is hysterical! Second, Your knowledge of trends are great! Third, you just get real! I want you write a book!
I have many real house plants and sorry I love them but they are still dust collectors! Only worse because if you don't keep them clean they struggle to thrive through that dust!
When you said "If you have a learning disability" for the Rae Dunn set... 🤣🤣🤣 it sent me!
I have to say that the shirt should immediately be relegated to GoodWill.
NO! Nobody should wear that. LOL! But it could be repurposed as a produce bag: cut off the sleeves from the bodice, sew the neck hole together, sew handles at the bottom of the shirt and you can sew back the cut off sleeves to make pockets. It could also be used as a fishnet to collect the fish on a fishing trip. It could be used for gardening, to support heavy fruits like cantelopes from trellis.
Agree with all, but faux plants are my only possibility for greenery. My cats are killing every plant. They have even chewed a kactus.. I have given up.
I have a house full of faux plants. I hate it to take care of plants. I clean them once and a while with a watering can or in the shower. Even on my balcony I have faux plants. Everything gets dusty in your house. When that is the reason you will not have it... Well, then your house is empty.
There are nicer faux plants- If your friends can’t tell if the plants are fake then they’re good- keep ‘em and dust them often!
My last home had fantastic lighting and huge windows so I had all real plants. Guess what. They needed dusting. Corn plants, Silver Queens, pathos, etc. all need to be dusted. And in the south they get bugs and cats love to dig in the dirt. But wait... there's more! The moisture will ruin your furniture. I put plates, thick pads, and other things under the plant but the moisture still ruined my cherry wood table. If you find quality faux plants (yes, they cost a lot of money) then buy them especially if you don't have a lot of natural light in those rooms or corners. You also don't have to repot them or feed them or water them.
The only good faux plant is a bouquet style because you can get dried, real flower versions, or amazing looking fake ones that won't die after a week. So I use those with nice vases, but fake house plants never look real.
Agree!! 100% agree!! I especially hate the Rae Dunn crap. Tell me you’re emotionally stunted without telling me you’re emotionally stunted.
I know you’re talking about decor trends, but there’s a sub-text to your picks. And, I’m here for it.
Keep it coming.
I completely agree😊 thanks for the sense of humour, too
I even have fake snake plants!!😂
Mix in faux with real here and there - faux Boston Fern Is the only way to go...a quick shake once in awhile releases any dust!
I have three Rae Dunn cat bowls that I bought at Goodwill. They say “MEOW” and my cat Zoey loves them. 🤣
I’ll alway this for pets 🤍
I could never understand the "live, love, laugh" signs. Hated them from the start. I'm a new subscriber, everything you commented on are my thoughts too!
Also eat pray love
Hahaha! I had mirrored nightstands and dressers. Spray painted then black just a few weeks ago. What can I say. 🤷♀️
I give myself probation for being reformed and regretting my life choices
You'll still have that charge on your criminal record though.😄
I think the multi color LV logo wallpaper is cute for a teen girl room. I have mirrored nest tables in my guest room. Sorry NOT sorry. I wipe them off once a week for dust. They make a small room feel bigger. If a decor piece is from a actual design style i.e. Bauhaus, French provincial, mid century modern and is good quality, it’s timeless. I have a “modern organic/mid century modern” home but our dinning room furniture is Duncan Phyfe from my grandmother.
Solid, amazing quality and still beautiful after 65yrs. ❤
Much better to have a high quality faux plant than to kill a live one. It's not just a matter of watering it every once in a while, at least for most plants. It's giving the right amount of water and sunlight (probably turning it around every once in a while), dealing with dropping leaves, trimming when it starts to get too big, treating for potential bugs and diseases, replacing the soil that gets thrown all over the floor by the pets, etc. And real plants can get just as dusty as fake ones if they're not cleaned. My mom is a plant connoisseur and can grow anything, including a collection of gorgeous orchids. Unfortunately I did not inherit that from her: I could kill a cactus. I do not want to kill any plants, because I like plants, so I will stick with the best quality faux plants I can find.
Awesome ! I feel the same about all the stuff thst u discussed over. Basically this kind of designing overwhelm some people and they try to folloe them insanely without realizing the cost they r paying for such idioticity. Thanks u r loved 😇
Again, it’s like you were plucking all of these out of my head! Especially word art!
You are so funny.. AND SO RIGHT! Toilet seat covers?! Good grief 🤢
You will take my faux plants out of my cold, dead, black-thumbed hands! Never ever am I submitting any green thing to my death-emitting paws.
Love you. You are one of the absolute best!!
Awe thank you so much 😊
I love your eyeglasses frames!!
Thanks. I didn't even now about most of these. And I agree with you about the ones I did. Except maybe the blinds that are practical and available.
I agree with all of these. However, I don't agree with your shirt!!! 🤣🤣🤣
The only acceptable mirrored furniture is a vintage 1940s 50s glam vanity. Eva Peron famously had one..
You are kind and fun to listen to.❤
Arvin said it best..."We are DONE with Rae Dunn!". Amen.
I couldn’t agree more!
Love these series. Useful too as I'm moving to a new house
I do have those vertical blinds and they are practical to me. But I also have curtains (pair of white see-thru over windows, and pair of solid cream ones on the sides). During summer, I put them down on “let light in mode”, and thanks to that my apartment is nice and cold without AC (we don’t have them in my country).
And my friend has a lot of word art. But she has calygraphy as her hobby, and all of it is hand-made, and quite luxury looking.
Love your videos!!
Thank you so so much 🥰
This is giving… Pompei 😂
We bought a 1900 farmhouse and the bathroom has Mason jar vanity lights and raw reclaimed barnwood walls. (We're ripping it out down to the studs and starting over.)
Recovering Rae Dunn addict here… it was cute, now it’s over produced junk. Hobby Lobby farmhouse and all the signs that come with it is beyond over!
That Rae Dunn stuff reminds me of the "word signs" that say Eat, Pray, Love or Home, or Eat! HORRIBLE, Horrible, horrible. OMG, the toilet seat covers are the WORST! I remember when my folks carpeted their bathroom and KITCHEN!!!
Ray Dunn font gives me horror movie vibes. I don’t see why people think it’s warm and whimsical.
I'm so glad im not the only one that feels this way!
Just terrible ugly clutter
Great video as always! Where did you get your shirt? Love it
This one is from asos ❤
The toilet seat covers...😂 Honey...my grandmother made them in felt when I was a small child. She had a Santa face that had mittens over his eyes when you raised the lid.
The wall decals strike me as very "tween" girl...
I just found you and I’m here to stay.
I agree with everything even though I am an offender lol
My husband wouldn’t care if I decorated my home in pink tulle everything(I wouldn’t ) but he asked for a lazy boy and it will never leave.
I also move around very often so faux plants it is for me.
Love your channel!
I live in a barn and love mason jars.
You are hilarious... and completely correct about all these design offenses... I had no idea the toilet seat cover thing is being actively brought back, thank you for the warning.... I am now your new subscriber...
Thank you so much! And welcome 🤍
You are funny as hell.love watching you!!
Love your videos!!
If you think you are bad with plants.....
I have a restraining order just so I stay clear of Vincent van Gogh's sunflower painting....
Baby, I. kill. plants.
I kill weeds. People hired to stand in their yards as human weed killer. On the plus, I’m safe for pets and children…mostly
I agree with you especially signs that day something
Oh I hate those big recliners with the built in cup holders
I love my mirrored furniture. It looks very chic and GLAM. I have a mix of real and faux tropical plants in my sunroom. YOU can't tell the difference just looking at them. As long as everything's tastefully done, it's all good !
I agree, I love my mirrored nightstands
@@c.gaynor1001 as DD said: to each their own.
Never had the on seat covers but my mom had the one for the top of the seat and the one in front of the toilet.
Hello I am a new subscriber, your critique on Rae Dunn was so on point I knew instantly, I found my people. Thank you for saying what I have thinking, Thank you.
Me staring at your faux plant, thinking you just blaming Brody and you forgot to hide it 🤣. I kid. I'm not into judging people's home decor( though recently I've been listening to a few youtuber/decorator, like yourself, giving their opinions, quite funny. I'm also not a "trend" follower . With that said , I will not use any bathroom with carpet on toilet and I would never purchase any Rae Dunn, never will be my taste. I do respect other people's idea of decor though and leave it at that. You on the other hand made a career out of decorating and giving tips and what not to do, so you get a pass judging decor .eheheh.
My first time watching your channel & I love it 😀 ❤ I'm happy to say I have none of these items & it's hard to pick the worst 😂
Pwahahaha!! I have kept every single glass jam jar and coffee jar and mason jar for the past 20 years! All my pantry stuff gets stored in them - you’d absolutely hate it!
Yes, I know, there is no hope for me 😂😂😂😂
Must confess I do have two night stands in a mirrored finish. because the alcove where the bed lives is quite dark the mirrored finish works. The top is a dark marble and the nightstands have proved to be useful and rather unobtrusive. They go with the Gustavian style that I have going on in that space. So i’m sticking with them but I do get your point.
I have mirrored nest tables in my guest suite and I’m not sorry. It’s a small room and they disappear so the room looks bigger. #mirror4life 😂
Ooh, I love the Gustavian style. I bet that room is gorgeous.
Your comments are on point and humorous. Now let's dive into the perils of mesh shirts as statement pieces.
I agree. Didn't even know some were a thing
Nice points, except for the 1st one... anything with those premium bran's logos, instantly makes me feel like puking... be it on t-shirt or belt buckle or a bag which cost you a fortune... and for the rest of the points... you were just spot on... those were my first thoughts when I saw those plaster and mirrored furnitures - "WHO DO YOU THINK WILL CLEAN THOSE FURNITURE EVERY HOUR??"... my gosh this tiktok trends is getting out of hand
😂😂😂😅Laughed so hard. Just love this.
I hate any kind of paneling, open shelving, barn doors in the house, matching wooden furniture.
Foam Furniture should be consider as Federal Crime!!
I’m so glad I’m not the only one that feels this way lol
A thousand times thank you!!!
The only piece of Rae Dun that I ever want is a jar that had "Urn" on it. Obsessed with it. I'm spooky so a lot of my decor is going to be odd things, and Halloween decorations lol.
Just got a new subscriber. I love your content
Thank you so much 🤍🤍
You made me laugh so many times on this video. And I so much agree with you. You have to wonder what people are thinking. 😊
Thanks for watching! So glad I could bring a good laugh to your day 🥰🤍
😂😂 Loved it! Subscribed! 😂😂
Thank you so much 🤍 have lots more to come
SUCH A QUEEN
Yay! I have zero offenses, not lying- I was so scared to have one offense from design daddy.
I have to dust my real fig and orchid leaves also for good light absorption.
I HATE those UGLY sofas. 😂😂 My husband is all about them!😂😂
First video I've seen you yours. I agree with everything, so now I'm a new subscriber.
I agree with everything you spoke about.
I really hate the big lazy sofa with built-in cup holders.
🥰🥰 thanks for watching
