Here are some reasons: 1. Never had a 100 RBI season 2. Never had 200 hits in a season 3. Never hit over 30 HRs in a season 4. Never won a World Series 5. 2 career total game winning hits in 15 years 6. Absolutely non existent in the playoffs 7. Zero big moment career defining clutch hits 8. No where near 3000 hits 9. .270 average last 5 years of career 10. (1) post season RBI 11. Ate up entire small market payroll with no deferred money while staying silent in the locker room for 15 years
@@ITGUYONTHEFLY gold glove catcher, three batting titles. 2nd best hitting catcher ever. only mike piazza was better. in the history of baseball. career cut short by five years, plus the last five years of his career were bad due to cuncussions. batted 368, with 28 home runs, and 98 rbi's, his best year.
@@sethhillyer4443 Good info except you missed: Zero 100 rbi seasons Zero 30 HR season(for a guy 6’5) Zero playoff series wins Zero 200 hit seasons Zero playoff moments(meaning did nothing when in the playoffs) Hit over 13 Home Runs 1 time in his career(stunning) No where near 3000 hits(2100) .270 hitter last 5 years and wasn’t even the catcher for those years(killed the team not catching, concussion I get it) He was absolutely awful the last 5 years for his standards, and it was hard to watch. 1 playoff RBI!! Yes just 1 in 10 games 1 walk off game winning hit in his career. Most of his hits throughout his career were meaningless because he couldn’t carry a team and it rubbed off, he was not the locker room presence that was needed for a small market team spending a $150 million multiple times looking for a captain . He didn’t say a damn word in that locker room and I have talked to many players from those years. One of my good friends over the last 25 years is second-basemen Mickey scales from Little Big League movie and it’s a great circle to be in for twins information and feedback. A 3rd of his career was definitely forgettable. I get my info from great sources. Twins had no chance to win anything with Mauers play and his contract hampering the team all those years… Oh yah, I forgot his career highlight had nothing to do with winning and was simply a catch behind the netting at home plate.LOL 🤣🤣 Look he’s a great human being and great father and family man; I’ve met him multiple times, great person. Not a single bad thing to say about him outside of statistics and results, but the results speak for themselves and baseball is a results oriented business and a team sport. Again, he’s a great person and very good baseball player, that absolutely did not have the clutch gene in him unfortunately for the die hard fans.
@@sethhillyer4443 jealous? Of what? I was responding to you making the totally nonsensical claim that this team makes the playoffs regularly. That would only be true if you were born within the last 2 or 3 years. You clearly know nothing about the twins, and quite frankly who YOU are talking to. But I don't need to flash my clear superiority as a person because being right, which I always am, speaks for itself.
Hall of Famer.

One of the very few points of relevance for this franchise
relevant every year for me. make the playoffs regularly, two championships.
