Interstellar was fcking amazing. In fact, at the time there were no images of a black hole, only mathematical evidence of its existence, so it was a prediction of what one would look like. It was so scientifically accurate that each frame of the black hole took ~100 hours to render.

And since we're all hurting across the universe at 500+ million miles an hour, if you went back in time only a day you'd still pop into a patch of empty space that the earth was passing thru 24 hours ago, bc your location relative to the universe didn't change. Imagine there are dozens of flash frozen corpses drifting along the path of Earth's orbit out there in the dark void of space. -His favorite baseball team is still playing in a similar looking field
-His daughter is alive & famous, surrounded by loved ones
-He fulfills his promise to his daughter, who still loves him
-The woman he loves is still alive, and they go travel into the white light/ the great unknown together.
And viewed that way it makes sense why he just leaves without talking to any of his grandkids. They aren't real, it's a fantasy.

  • @yourlocalfurrylandsknechtowo

I think a lot of people are misinterpreting the lady laughing. Its one of those moments where emotions are nuanced. Imagine someone close to you dying, and they rip a joke to lighten the mood while you're crying. Something along the lines of "Damn man. I knew going to Blake's place was a bad idea!". I get the same feeling as that. She's being respectful knowing he is one of the pivotal individuals of humanity. She's just trying to get as much joy from the situation. Smiling knowing he judt came back from a suicide mission, and laughing from the misunderstanding. She also knows that its named after his Daughter, which she, and I, imagine is something that he would be extremely proud of.

I never understood why the women laughs. The daughter named the station after her surname which belongs to her father, so it technically was named after the dad. Not only that but none of this wouldn’t have been possible if Cooper didn’t explore the other planets and fall into the black hole.

HE was the one who threw himself into a blackhole and sent back the data to murph. they’re laughing like any of that would would’ve happened without him

Murphy's mum was named Adeline and she had a condition where she did not age but her Dad, was always away at NASA and came back to raise the kids when the mum left to run away from the government. Mr.Cooper took the kids and raised them on a farm until he went away on a space mission. Murphy met her mum again and told her she was leaving to stay in a nursing home. Years go by and she receives word that her Dad has returned. Murphy Cooper gets to meet her Dad again before she passed on and he gets to meet his grand,Great grand and great great grand children.
