He was a bartender at the Hoxton when I first saw him. I just though he was a dope dude and started following him on Instagram. The more I grow up the more I look to his post for inspiration because I see myself not going the way I would like to sometime, and knowing his story sometimes helps me. He’s an unmentioned mentor to random dude he doesn’t know. But he inspires me and sometimes the tiniest bit of inspiration can go long way to people you don’t know from the words and Attitude of the speaker

I keep wanting to comment and I keep erasing. But the gist is that I have big feelings about setting up cool-people meeting within AA. One of the reasons why I've left AA, is that I didn't want to and/or couldn't keep up with the cool kids (Love & Tolerance, PPG during my time, etc.) and all the AA cliques and the whole idea of god/ HP saving one person but not another... The whole premise of AA is that we're all the same and yet, we are not, not in practice, not in Toronto AA at least. Why do we do this to each other? Recovery is so fcking hard as it is. You say those people really "needed to be there?" I say, everyone who struggled -- and especially during the pandemic -- "needed to be there" and in my opinion it was a luxury that those 15 people got to be there. They really needed that connection? Jesus. Everyone has a need for connection. You probably won't get what I'm trying to say. At least not yet. Anyway. I don't know you personally, I know your dad via writers' circles. Feel free to delete my comment as it's sort of negative, I'm not an Internet troll and even though I'm addressing you directly I don't mean it to be personal. I saw your dad post a link to this on FB and I wanted to comment there but he has nothing to do with what I think so that's why I'm here.
