  • This time lapse video, shows my experience from the total solar eclipse happening last November. You can see from the begging of the trip and the initial observing location at Port Douglas where clouds we persistent, up to the final location close to Palmer River Roadhouse. It was a wonderful experience beeing there under the pitch dark skies of Australian outback waiting for the eclipse to happen!

I'm not sure why these people are dissing your video. I found it to be a nice composition that incorporated a lot of the different aspects and phenomena that create an eclipse experience. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

This would have been the *_perfect_* video representation of a solar eclipse, if you had simply included an uncut , REAL-TIME video clip that started about 30 seconds _before_ and 30 seconds _after_ the moment of total obscurity. That is exactly what I expected to see by the very end, whatwith all the time spent editing video and the decent backing music. This gets a whopping, singular thumbs-nwoD from me for that *_stupendous_* oversight...

Fair enough Betty, I d say its subjective for each individual. In the video I show my initial scouting for an observing locatio., later on the equipment setup and the night sky before the totality. Later on you can see the actual event both on a wide field lens and through the telescope used for imaging. I had to stay with no sleep for more than 40 hours to be able and prepare everything and capture the event.

Hi Great clip. Do you still have the full length wide time laps shot with out any edits during the eclipse? I noticed something odd in your other clip and I'm wondering if you see something similar in the main wide shot from this footage but it cuts away to a close up. Dont get me wrong, this is a great video but I would really like to see the wide shot. Please please please publish the unedited wide footage in full. Or just look for your self and see if you notice anything interesting in the sky as the light changes. Many thanks. Nathan Oakley

  • @constantineemmanouilidi5334

I saw many good and bad comments from people who knows about astronomical observations and also for people who doesn't. For the second group of non-observers, I can say that my description notes that this video is about my experience of observing and imaging a total solar eclipse and this is exactly what one can see from the days before up until the actual event. Actually during the solar eclipse frames there is a high resolution image that was made by professor Miloslav Druckmuller from the images that was used in the video and shows many great details of the solar corona. I'm very sorry if the video editing isn't very professional but I'm not an experienced editor. There is nothing artificial and everything is as close to the reality it can be.
Here is a real time video of the totality from my iPhone:
    czcams.com/video/KZ2npH7zZ4A/video.html
And here is the link to the high resolution corona image:
    www.zam.fme.vutbr.cz/~druck/Eclipse/Ecl2012a/Tse2012a_816mm_ce/0-info.htm
Hope this helps to give you a better view of the event.
