      Thanks for watching. Whilst I'm no authority on this they seem to occur on a regular basis - almost annually. The following website provides some details on when future Blood Moons will occur www.space.com/39471-what-is-a-blood-moon.html

    Beautiful video, but did you notice what you captured here? Has anyone else noticed the waxing and waning of the moon every night? An individual by the name of Angry Catfish Briggs here on CZcams has noticed since around 2012, or earlier, that the moon's shadow seems to tilt instead of staying stationary these days and your video here clearly demonstrates what he's talking about. I just recently started going out at night and trying to watch the moon rise and pay attention to it's position. Then observe it's position while it's in the middle of the sky, and then while it's setting. Right now is the perfect time to see this in the sky as the moon is in the in between phase of the new and full moon, making the shadow cut perfectly down the middle of the moon from top to bottom. But as it was setting yesterday morning, that straight up and down shadow line was tilted clockwise, making it go from the 3 o'clock position to more like a 4-5 o'clock position. I didn't catch it rise the night before and then it was cloudy last night so I couldn't see it, but I bet if I catch it tonight, the flat side will be in the 2-3 o'clock position. Look Up and check out the Moon Tonight!!!!

      I actually hadn't noticed that before. This was filmed as a time lapse over a number of hours from a tripod. Over the period of a couple of hours the moon began low on the horizon roughly 30 degrees by the end of the time lapse the camera lens was pointing almost vertically and had also translated around 90 degrees on the horizontal axis. I wonder whether this has anything to do with this waxing and waning?

      @THEGLASSMANSWORLD Před 2 lety +1

      @@IntotheWildFilms It is very possible that your camera angle may change the angle of shadow, but the moon itself looks stationary to me throughout your video. The clouds came in last night with a lot of wind, so I couldn't observe it. And it's still cloudy now but it should be setting about now.

    Hi, great video! I’ve also filmed the moon around 10 years ago, not blood moon, only full moon. In my footage the moon was getting into my frame and in around 15 minutes was out of the frame as you can see in the footage. How did you guys got the moon still all the way ?

    • @IntotheWildFilms
      @IntotheWildFilms  Před 2 lety +2

      HI, thanks for watching. I filmed the sequence in 30 second clips spaced around 10 mins apart if I recall correctly. So I'd frame up the moon in the centre of the frame, film for 30 seconds then wait for 10 mins, re-frame the moon back to the centre then film for 30 secs again over and over for the the 3 hour event. When I edited it together I centered all the shots to the middle of the frames and then used a dissolve transition between shots. Hope this helps :)

    Ok wonderful. That’s how I should have done it. Instead I ended up with the lense of my camera fogging over from the dew and gave it away about 9 O’clock!

    • @IntotheWildFilms
      @IntotheWildFilms  Před 3 lety

      I sat out in the cold for 4 hours, cloud threatened to ruin it at one point but quickly cleared. Pity about the lens fog on your camera, it just needed time to acclimatise, I had a similar issue when I got home after 11 pm, when I brought my camera in from the cold it was suddenly covered in condensation. Thanks again for watching, stay safe, cheers Phil
