A Super Moon is an impressive sight in the night sky - glowing larger and brighter than a typical full moon, it can be a spectacular show for stargazers. Super Moons occur when the moon is at the closest point in its orbit to Earth and its gravitational pull is strongest, making it appear larger than normal.
The various types of Super Moons all have different names, and each is special in its own way. In this video, we will go through what are some of the most common types of Super Moons and what makes them so remarkable.
First, what exactly is a Super Moon?
A Blood Moon is a type of Super Moons. This makes for a spectacularly large and bright moon in the night sky. During a Blood Moon, the Moon can appear to be a vivid red or orange color, hence its name, making for some truly stunning visuals.
Another type is the Blue Moon.
We’ve all used the expression “once every blue moon” to describe something that happens rarely, like going to the gym for example
A Harvest Moon occurs when the full moon is closest to the autumnal equinox, that is, the first day of autumn. Equinox is like a special day that happens twice a year. On the day of the Equinox, the sun is right in the middle of the earth, so it's like the sun is giving us a big hug!
And finally, there is the Pink Moon.
Just like the Harvest Moon rises in time for Autumn, this type of Super Moon occurs when the full moon is closest to the spring equinox.

I was on a date, end of October, 30 years ago, and we were walking around downtown, and stopped at a park near the wharf to rest a bit, and watch the waves, and look at the stars.
Suddenly the most spectacular thing occurred.
A Harvest Supermoon rose slowly out of the harbor. It was absolutely huge! It totally filled the sky.
We were so enthralled by the magnificence and beauty of this lovely yellow moon, that we just stared at it, happily awestruck.
Since we were playing 'Be a Tourist in Your Own Town', we had our cameras with us, but we were so excited, just watching, we didn't think to snap any photos of the wonderful sky show.
Ah, but, that's what memories are for. Little snapshots and movie clips, frozen moments in time that we can play in our heads whenever we want.
A breathtaking, wonderful, truly memorable sight.

I saw it today and it was orange
When me and my family were at the beach at night there was an event at Tg. Balau at night when i went to the beach i saw a harvest supermoon there were no clouds in the sky after a few minutes it turned into a normal 🌙

Did you seriously think that just because someone lives south of the equator, that the moon wouldn't be visible as it is above the equator?

When I was very little I remember when I saw the moon but it was only a ring. I can't tell if this was a dream but it was definitely real. I think it was some kind of supermoon because it was really close but it didn't shine that much light and the only thing I can see was. The outliner of the moon meaning that I can see where the moon was and I have no idea. If that was even the moon but can anybody ever tell me if this was real because I think It happened. Like? About 3,4,5,6 Years ago I don't know.

2:30 Elliptical orbits are the most common type, A perfectly circular orbit is only possible when very specific criteria are met (correct velocity at correct distance), and those are very difficult to attain randomly. In other words, the Moon is not in an elliptical orbit because the Sun, and other planets pull it into that orbit as implied by your video. 👎
