- Super Blue Moon August 2023: The biggest and the brightest Moon of the year is coming, and you should not miss this opportunity. Sky-gazers will be treated to a rare astronomical event when a Super Blue Moon rises with Saturn on August 30-31.
A Super Blue Moon is a celestial event that combines two interesting lunar phenomena: the "supermoon" and the "blue moon." But what makes the super blue moon of 2023 so special is that it’s going to take place on the day around which Saturn will be at its closest distance to Earth and appear just a few degrees away from the Moon in the sky.

I think my mother screwed me up like this 🤣. As a natural dreamer, I would always be swept away with whomever/whatever and dive into things. But my mom always had a hearty, "Oh brother," and an eyeroll for those who would bask in happiness while perhaps abandoning a bit of concern for those less fortunate.)

Remember a night in august I was walking outside and the moon light up the area, it was so bright blue light you can see so clear in the darkness of the night.

My sister was a nurse for 42 years, she worked nights and weekends and said without a doubt the full moon had an effect on the weirdos that showed up at the hospital.

I've seen a Pink moon, the sun was setting so it looked pink. It was also a Supermoon & blue moon. Pretty cool

The thing is that "Blue moon" doesn't mean sh!+. Just a coincidental alignment of the lunar cycle with our made up calendar. The "Super Moon" is just as bad. The moon is only 6.9% bigger than average. You wouldn't be able to notice if no-one told you it was coming. Don't bother looking for it. What you will see is pretty much the same as every other full moon.

I want a full blood moon it was very creepy and very ominous it was so close and so red I actually got scared it was about 8 years ago it was beautiful and scary at the same time

I saw it last year,not only me but dad, sister,nephew, neighbours,and friends we phone called miles away, it wasn't on a NASA "blood moon" date, we witnessed it for 2 consecutive nights, it was very eerie and ominous looking, there's no way it was caused by pollution or forest fire because we live in a rural area, and also this year, we saw the same exact phenomenon too.. two days before the "actual blood moon" date. It's strange. We belong to a tribal community and also Christians, I am convinced it is a sign for "war and bloodshed" in the East and Dad believes " it's a sign of changing times".

It's on 31.08.23, called Balaram Purnima, Krsna elder brother's appearance day, so of course it's a super blue moon, blue is the colour of Dau Balaram.....this day is also celebrated as Raksha Bandhan. Balaram Dau is the older brother who always protects us. Joi Balaram Deva 🙏🎂

Well who would have thought that college elective Physical Science would have ever amounted to much? It was a combination of astronomy, geology, meteorology, and oceanography.
Ever since I was a kid I looked up to the sky because I was fascinated by the clouds and the weather. But never had any interests for the stars or the other two sciences until after taking that class. I actually remember and understood some of the references. Now I know what is meant by a Blue Moon.

The original blue moon WAS blue due to forest fires.The 1940s was when 2 full moons in a month was first mentioned.
Permit me to doubt. Two full moons in one month were mentioned the first time there were two full moons in one month. Many, many centuries ago. You really think no one noticed until the 1940s?

But two full moons in one calendar month, which is what I specified in my op, was no doubt noticed, mentioned, extensively discussed and argued over for many centuries previously when months started having more than 28 days and virtually every adult on the planet kept track of the progress of celestial bodies through the sky; For millenia before the advent of large urban, non-agrarian populations in areas with extensive electrical lighting.
