Australia’s Wild Northeast | Wildlife Documentary 4K | Queensland Animals and Landscapes
Embark on a captivating journey through the diverse landscapes of Queensland, Australia's northeastern state. From the ancient rainforests of Daintree, home to the Southern Cassowary and Saltwater Crocodiles, to the sand dunes of the Simpson Desert. From the rainforests of Atherton Tableland, home to the Lumholtz Tree Kangaroo and the Platypus, to the geological wonders found deep in the Gulf Savannah. We explore the open woodlands of Magnetic Island where we find Koalas and Allied Rock Wallabies. We watch Green Turtles nesting on the beaches of Central Queensland before travelling to Southeast Queensland’s Border Ranges where we see Lamington Spiny Crayfish and Antarctic Beech Trees, both relics from ancient times. Join us on this unforgettable expedition as we uncover the natural wonders of Queensland.

It's Fraser Island (K'gari)
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed the documentary. Cheers Phil
Beautiful survey of an amazing corner of the Earth. The most entrancing details possible here are often oddly ignored. The platypus, for example, is not truly blind when it's submerged for hunting--it purposefully closes its eyes in order to concentrate on a superior sense for that task--electroreception, as in sharks--allowing it to find prey that otherwise would remain hidden visually under sand or river silt. A science documentary like this, with the resources to provide breathtaking photography, would provide an even more intellectually rich service with such narrative details. The audience of today should be quite sufficiently literate to appreciate the evolutionary beauty and wealth of endowment in electroreception's premier heterotrophic strategy. Also, the haunting vocal background is readily identifiable as Catholic liturgical chant, re-scored for this video. That's beautiful, of course, but takes the place of originally composed music, which again would give viewers a more generative, evocative experience, as well as keep today's contemporary music composers the much-needed and well-deserved assignments that sustain them--as well as animating the contemporary arts with interesting, new material.
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed the documentary. Cheers Phil
