    Love the video! All these markets are intertwined. Housing, automobiles, boats, yachts. Interest rates affect them, the overall economy, fuel prices, major conflicts in the global world. We saw the major crash and 07 and 08. The coronavirus also put a major disruption of supplies and distribution. I would not be surprised to see another major correction like in 07-08. Love your videos and info!

    I am a young captain of a 30ft peterson chaser racer/cruiser and its funny how you mentioned solo sailing and couples sailing 30ft-35ft when i first started sailing i thought a 25ft boat was huge and needed a crew. Main point i like your attitude and your knowledge and advice on sailboats got me to subscribe. I have a feeling the newer generation of sailors and captains will be more exciting!

    Good boats sell on the same day here in Australia. Some are sold unseen by the buyers and trucked interstate. Even caravans are sold for double what they are worth.

  • @eliinthewolverinestate6729

    It's spring time here. Boats are cheaper in spring because winter storage fees. I see cheap boats around great lakes all the time. Most have never seen salt water, but have seen many winters. Then see ads for boats in the south at almost double the price. Plus it's still cold so most aren't in the water yet. Our first boat was a cheap c&c 43 landfall. Biggest boat for least amount of money. Not something I would take out on Lake Superior or cross oceans on. Our next boat we hope it will fit down Erie canal and be sea worthy enough for sail to Isle Royal National Park.

  • @badgersupdate
    @badgersupdate Před 2 lety +3

    Fuel, food and just about everything is going up in price. Salaries are not. The first thing to go is the holiday, then the boat. That along with the Marina fees and Bring On Another Thousand is having a direct effect on boats. Last year there were no boat slips available. I got offered 3 different places last week. Prices in the UK are rapidly falling 5-10% . Hold on to your wallets. There’s some bargains coming.

    There's a SO 43 DS for sale in Southhampton UK for £105K, I viewed it the day it came onto the market. Whoever is selling it has jumped onto the skyrocketing yacht prices. As an ex-school yacht, it is about £40- 45K overpriced, the present owner has DIYed lots of it when in reality someone should have taken his tools away. As a project yacht, it could be a belter but not for £105K

    • @jaredflurry937
      @jaredflurry937 Před 2 lety +1

      I think it’s effectively a sabbatical for many. They take a couple years off to sail on a shoestring budget. Go back to shore and work when the money’s short and other needs in life start to call.
      Others hope to strike it big on CZcams to fund their cruise, others telework.
      That said, it’s not really that hard to straight-up retire around 40 if both partners are committed to the dream, earn solid salaries, and don’t mind frugality.
      A $1-2M nest egg is effectively guaranteed after 15-20 years of saving $50-100k (e.g. saving one partner’s whole salary). That size portfolio will easily return $25-75k a year.

      @@ChasingLatitudes Look at the ad online, and maybe mention it as a boat worth looking at to your audience, If you like it that is?

      @Dean Koch people offer me cash to mention there boats my dude, or they are at least a producer on the channel, I have never mentioned anyone vessel to date and not something I'll probably ever do, not really my thing 🙃 don't mean to sound like a jerk at all but I really dislike brokers and I don't ever want to be seen as anything resembling one

      @@ChasingLatitudes No problem. I like your channel so I thought I would ask. Not trying to pull one over on anyone. I paid $22,000 for it and have solar and battery bank and 3 more fuel tanks to give the boat over 2,000 mile range. But I decided to stop this shit and get an RV where it is safer.

    Why would you think that a boat selling for 65K is a good deal when similar models sell for 125K? 1/2 price is an exception and may be a total piece of junk. Why is it 1/2 price? a 2002 vintage boat, are the electronics and sails that old? have the seacock ever been changed? what does the hull look like? and many many more issues. Its foolish to talk about the boat but not the potential problems. novices will think that you are recommending this boat, do you really want that to be the message of your channel?

      You clearly haven't watched the channel nor even this video as I specifically stated you need to find out why, I've don't over 100 videos specifically going into finding out issues with vessels, getting the correct surveyor, replacement costs of sails, running rigging, standing rigging and so on. Because you watch one minute of one video attempting to point out things I've already covered dozens and dozens of times. What's with the thoughts behind that type of behavior?

      Are you off your meds today? I'm not here to sell you vessels, I'm simply showing the current market conditions, I'm not here to break down the entire vessel someone else is selling

    Halfway into this video, and not only you did not say a. Ything of value, but nothing compatible by your title. Total humbug sales pitch. Wasteful.
