      I watched some random tv reporter interview Larry yesterday after that drama went down (he was so upset), and this lady totally sensationalized it for effect and then asked him to respond and I wanted to smack her so hard! No sensitivity for the man who looked like he was about to cry. Just wanted to get her big moment 🙄. So now I’m back here with Nate! 🙏

      It was a great interview, and I want to say thank you to Laura for sitting down and doing this for us. I've always wanted to be on a jury, but I think it's because I'm a true crime buff. I always wonder what is going on in someone's mind that makes them do whatever crime in a show I'm watching. For example, in this case, what is wrong with these people? How could Lori allow her own flesh and blood to die in such a horrific way? How could she allow JJ to die because, well, I can't even think why, there are no reasons other than she didn't want her children anymore. Was this Chad's idea, and why weren't his children even considered dark? Maybe because they believed him so much, I don't know and probably never will understand them. I saw a local news channel doing the news about this case. Chad's daughter Emma pulls up and is making faces as the reporter is doing her thing, and I'm like, WTF? Does she think this is a joke? Even if she really believes Chad was set up, 2 children were buried in the backyard. Like that is NO joke! That is not something to be taken lightly. Then her own mother was suffocated, and who did it? Was it Chad or both Chad and Garth? Or did Alex sneak over and do it? Answers we will never have! I don't understand why this had to happen, why Lori just couldn't have dropped JJ off to his grandparents and said, "I'm done, you raise him." Why she couldn't have sent Tylee to her brother and said, "I'm done, I want my freedom." I'm guessing she didn't want anyone to know she was unwilling to be a mother anymore. Those 2 children would feel abandoned. As a mother of 3 and grandmother of 9, I just do not understand their thinking.

    • @Soffity
      @Soffity Před 21 dnem +9

      @@lisas8244 I can picture Chad standing next to Alex giving him instructions. God told me we have to do this Jesus wants us to tape JJ up to keep the zombie in, that sort of thing. Alex was doing the dirty work and Chad was being the supreme being and overseeing and ordering it all. I bet he felt as high as a kite on adrenaline and loved giving his orders. That could be why there is no Chad DNA on the bodies. A supreme being doesn’t get his hands dirty. As others have suggested I’m sure he also wore gloves. He didn’t care if Alex took the fall but there was no way he was going to. Chad was the important one who saw behind the veil, Alex was just the lackey who would do whatever Chad told him without question.

    Excellent interview, Nate! And thank you Laura, I am glad you decided to do the interview. The insights helped fill in some of the questions and gaps I had, particularly about Lori’s behavior because I still cannot wrap my mind around this as a mother. It’s a little easier to see in Chad’s case because we can actually see him, in Lori’s we just had the written word and sketches. I also hope the court takes note and provides actual contacts of therapy providers for the jurors 🙏🏽

You are so brave to share your story. I can't even imagine how hard this must have been for you. I can't believe that the court only covers 6 sessions of therapy. I'm so glad to know you did that work for your mental health. I'm so sorry knowing you'll never be the same after serving on the jury.

    I’m not sure if this had been brought up before, but there is a reason that Audrey’s admission, of Lori threatening her life, didn’t come up until redirect.
    It had been decided by the judge before the trial that it was not allowed in her testimony. The defense had filed a motion to have it excluded and they won. However, in the cross examination, Mr Archibald asked her some questions about her and Lori’s friendship ending and why it ended permanently after that visit to Rexburg.
    That opened the door for the prosecution to now come back on their redirect and ask Audrey what had happened that ended their friendship on that visit. That is the reason why she was then able to tell that story.
    It had nothing to do with her choosing to wait til redirect or the prosecution waiting til redirect. Their hands were tied until that point when Mr Archibald accidentally opened that door.
    That’s another reason why Mr Archibald was so pissed. He knew that originally going into Audrey being in the stand, that the prosecution wasn’t allowed to ask about the death threat. He did not realize his own line of questioning had opened that door and when he objected and it was denied, he was not happy.

      Thank you for taking the time to type this all out. I remembered there was good reason, but couldn’t remember to this degree of detail and I was disappointed to hear that Audrey seemed less believable because of it. I do understand why, and even her demeanor on the stand could have contributed to that, but when one takes into account that it was happening in real time for her (thinking she wasn’t going to be able to testify to it, but then getting the nudge from prosecution that she could… I mean it’s nerve wracking in and of itself, not to mention it’s a literal death threat you’re talking about, and the perp is right across from you? Not everyone can be strong on the stand. I absolutely think it’s within Lori’s character to do such a thing just as Audrey described it. And having the whole story of how the testimony played out does, at least for me, give a greater understanding of and compassion for the way Audrey came across.

    Thank you for your service Laura! I've been a juror on two trials (although civil, not criminal). But I really appreciated two things you said; that you think jury service is important and something we should all do and not fight, and that if you were in trouble you would hope you had a jury like yours. I could not agree more and feel the same way; I tell friends and family that they should not fight jury service and they should do their service for society. I'm 63 years old and have only served on two juries (although one lasted 3 months). It's a small price to pay for the justice system we have which although not perfect, is the best one out there, Also, until we fix the justice system, with regard to the death penalty, we should not have it. To much black skin on that rope. Thank you again!
