- Every June the Queen of England celebrates her official birthday with a military parade. A unit from the Household Guard and all five of its massed bands perform the celebration in her honor. In 2017 she is 91 years old and looks grand. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty.
Patriotism, loyalty, discipline all shown here so beautifully. God bless them all.

Hi thank you for your service I was wondering do you spend a certain amount of time doing ceremonial duties and then move into more operational duties and more training I am interested as I want to join the welsh guards but I want to do ceremonial and operational duties as well
I heard you do 2 years on and 2 years off is that true
Thank you
Good man Andrew!! 👍🏼💪🏼🇬🇧
I'm Welsh from the coal mining village glyncorrwg glamorgan we are so proud of you all serving in welsh guards thank you sir.

I thought you were an American revolutionary who fought against the brits
I attended this trooping the colour and watched my friend pass the colour. This is a day that will forever be in my heart God Save The Queen
YOUR HEART FILLED WITH PATRIOTISM
Who does this better than the Brits? No one! Cheers from Canada
Ever heard of a country known as the ussr but sadly it desolved😭😭😭😭???
@@draco3012 they were never better
@@scallywag6768 excuse u
@Oliver O'Donovan nope m8 they had the best anthem and went against all the superpowers at the time however because of a system that was ahead of its time and a leader who went against everything that his predesesors believed in caused the dissolvement of the ussr i think.
I WILL BE BACK
-USSR
@Max Smith thought the same reading that... I think I lost a few too many brain cells... just because the Internet makes the soviet Union look cool and amazing doesn't mean it was, i had relatives who lived in Poland under soviet rule and I can tell you now, the Polish way of like is better off without the red menace! Read a book!

I have nothing but admiration for those soldiers. Trooping the Colour is just amazing.

267 years of tradition. Older than many countries !!
Okra CRPF and your point is ??
Okra CRPF i don't understand your comment. Do you ?
Okra CRPF explain to me what your comments have to do with my first comment.
Do you know how hard this is? fainting is no fault of the person. Its hot, wearing very thick, hot uniforms, all the while doing DRILL! The density of your comment confounds me. People all have different thresholds. One cannot stop oneself from fainting. Have you ever done anything like this before? Probably never, and just a 12 year old kid behind the keyboard. You would most likely faint too. If they could, they would try and stop themselves from fainting. Wouldn't anyone? Its a feat to complete this whole ceremony without fainting, with everything they're doing. Keep in mind, most are combat veterans of Afghanistan or Iraq. So shut your piehole, and use your thing between your ears, if you still possess one.
Okra CRPF this was one of the hottest days of the year
Happy Birthday Your Majesty! Semper Fi from a US Marine! Thank You for your Service, Maam!

A beautiful, moving sight, wonderful!
I could watch this all day.. I have never seen such precision , especially when the spin wheel turns on the " double tap" of the base drum.. but then again we have the best and most disciplined Army in the world..

I'm a U. S. Military member and I have respect for our "cousins" over there in Britain and the Commonwealth. The United States, Britain and the Commonwealth, ALWAYS fighting together, sharing a common culture and language. The English speaking world have saved this planet many of times from tyranny over the years. God save the Queen. Happy Birthday.
Well done Brits, your are really wonderful with your traditions.

RIP Queen Elizabeth II
This royal orchestra is very much captivating
C’est de toute beauté!
Long live her majesty the queen
She is actually the Queen of the United Kingdom and also of Canada, Australia and New Zealand, etc.
On a 18th or 19th century battlefield, with masses of black powder smoke in the air, the Colours of a battalion, each unit having slightly different Colours - generally two flags - marked its centre and the men needed to know what they looked like. Hence the Colours were, from time to time paraded, or Trooped, before the men.
Colours were, and are, blessed by a churchman and had a semi mystical status, they represented the Regiment now and going back in time. To lose a Colour in battle, captured by the enemy, was a huge disgrace to a regiment, felt by every officer and man in the unit and soldiers would perform almost any feat of courage to save them.
This year it is the Irish Guards, created as a result of the gallantry of the Irish Regiments of the British Army in the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 and traditionally including many Irish and Catholic soldiers.
Great Britain forever.
Not sure why but in the US the colors are not trooped. BUT often times the BAND WILL TROOP THE LINE, playing a march to entertain the crowd. For Example click here --> czcams.com/video/Vg7layOxQR0/video.html
What a rare find...someone like you...:)
Lots of information I didn't know about the colours. Thanks 99IronDuke!
Indeed each regiment would Troop their colour through the ranks of their regiment before every battle. Effectively: this is what it looks like, this what you rally around, this is what you protect!
I want to be her majesty the queen guard when i grow up
Great to hear!
Bloody marvellous, my frigate was escort to the Royal Yacht in South Africa.
Belated happy birthday, Majesty. May you have many many more.
The life guard officer Major James Harbord was in the sandhurst documentary that followed his time at the college alongside the other officer cadets
Oh damn I remember him now wasnt he a confirmed cadet?
God Bless All of You
No-One Drills like THE GUARDS.
The passionate menage-a-trois between the Crown, the Military and the People is both heartwarming and reassuring. It is an undeniable, inarguable, and irrefutable fact of life and nature that God is an Englishman, and according to Prince Otto von Bismarck, He holds a Special Providence for drunks, little children, and the United States of America. May God Save Her Majesty, and may God Bless The USA!
I love 💖 the queens gaurd
Love you as philip is saying above watching over you lillibet.god bless you both.there is only one great queen but you have aNOTHER good one to come. KATE
Whoever the guy is that is announcing “escort to the color” and leading the grenadiers has the most commanding voice of all time.. this is the best vid to watch of all the trooping the color..
If you go to 25:31, the Captain of Number 5 Guard (Scots Guards) is Major Ogilvy, who was the Ensign in 2011 when the 1st Battalion Scots Guards Trooped their Colour.
Wow, Ensign to Major in 6 years. Usually at least 10-11 isn’t it?

Any idea if Proud Heritage at 24:30 has been played in any other ceremony? They mentioned it was an “original composition” but this was so good they’ve definitely used it again right??
Can someone please tell me the name of the piece of music at 42:20?
EDIT: Never mind, I found it myself; it's called "Mick's March," if anyone's interested.
I’m irish but I must say that shit looks class
lucky me! My dad was an Irish Guards officer, and he teaches me drill!
That’s sweet. Reminds me of when I was a kid on an Army post in the USA. We all learned to drill in Boy Scouts. 😊
Well it is called the 3 point turn when you step ahead and brim. When you walk as if you swim while on foot it is called a hoxle.
I was on this parade as part of the escort. Absolutely scorching day. Mounted queens guard straight after it and I was on my last legs, my hands were sweating so much that the rifle was slipping out of my hands 😂 good to look back on tho
One of the best
What's the tune playing in the neutral march in march past in quick time

The orchestra played one of the most famous Russian marches, march of the life guards Preobrazhensky regiment (from 46 min). Surprising
