I have some personnal tips :
Followers :
The Attack speed from the Enchantress is additive with other AS increases. It isn't that strong on build with a lot of AS from the stuff or skills. Going from 80 to 83% isn't a big deal unless it let you reach breakpoints. If the AS from the enchantress doesn't help you reach those breakpoints, it's just wasted. And by AS i mean Global Attack speed, not skill Attack speed from legendary items like the HotA barb's bracers and the firebat WD's weapon.
The Armor bonus from the enchantress is also additive with other Armor increases. Witch doctors have 100% increased armor from soul harvest, crusaders have 150% from Akkarat, Archon wiz have 150+X archon charge %, and Leap bard have 525% from the 4p bonus. The ranged damage reduction is way stronger in that case. Also, as only a small number of monsters can hit you on melee range, while 50+ monsters can snipe you from afar, ranged damage reduction is always a good choice. (and fire chains count has ranged damage, like many elite affixes)
Potions :
Don't forget the potion that gives 25% more Healing from all sources, it might be better than LoH potion in some builds.
My DH has 2.33 Attacks per second with gogok only. I have 70480 LoH and 27893 life regen.
With the LoH potion, I have 2.33 * (70480+20000) + 27893 = 238 711 effective Healing per second.
With the 25% Healing potion, I have ( 2.33 * 70480 + 27893 ) * 1.25 = 240 139 effective Healing per second
The results are almost the same in my case, and LoH potion become stronger in big groups due to the Attack speed gem. But the 25% increased Healing potion is a viable option, especialy in builds running the Life regen gem (like Necromancers).
The armor potion gives additive armor bunus, so it's not that good on builds with high armor bonus.
Last useless tip :
exp bonus from secondary stats on your followers do apply to you a bit, and scales with Tourment and GR level. Who wants to miss the OP-OP + 33xp per kill ?
You can put on followers Azurewrath sword and roll on it Lightning Damage, that way the sword will freeze enemies and lightning damage will proc Wyrdward ring to stun them as well :).

Although it's hard to get a cooldown/attack speed Azurewrath that you can then roll the damage type. Azurewrath is also important if the follower needs to wear unity so you cant rely on Wyrdward ring as you can take the Occulus Ring too.
I was going to say the same thing for Sultan of the Blinding Sand sword. A 40% chance to blind is huge and works great with the RG. Re-roll the holy damage to lightning, so you can blind and stun enemies. In addition to Wyrdward, I also like to use the Dovu energy trap for longer stuns on the RG. Since I main a Jade Doc, I find the Ess of Johan interferes too much with my Piranhado.
Wish I could pledge more, really admire how hard you work at your channel and your stream.
I just stumbled upon this Channel today since I'm a returning player and need to refresh a few things and bro I've been binge watching the channel like crazy. You earned a sub.
A few things to add:
- Enchantress does not benefit from cdr, only att spd. Templar and Scoundrel do benefit from both cdr and att spd.
- Don't pick any of the Templar's 3rd skills, he will use his other healing abilities more often.
How do you know that the Enchantress doesn't benefit from CDR?

If you DO like Charm, the Enchantress becomes a charm machine with a Tormentor. I use it with my console Twister Wiz.
One thing I'd like to add for the templar specifically is +Chance to Block stats. His relic can roll +16% chance to block and the shield itself can roll an additional +11% chance to block. Something to consider if you're going for absolute min/max on the utility.
great guide helped me a lot . i did play fear potion on vyr wizard in s12 and helped me a lot when got stuck in the middle of monsters :D

Fun facts: In italian the potion is called "Coca-Kulle" referring to "Coca-Cola" meaning "Coke".
Also, the word "kulle" in our language is very close to the other word "culo", that can be translated as "ass" or "butt", we have dozens hilarious achievements.

I'm pretty sure if you have the follower legendary item that gives them access to all abilities, you can just put it on, and then put back the "can not die" thing, and it will completely reset their skills, and you don't need to make a new character to fix that problem!
Great advice. Also, use the Enchantress for pet builds and the Templar for non-pet builds (they get in his way, plus you don't need another blocker). Use the Archer only if you have a high attack speed melee build like Gen monk or WW barb.
Not sure if someone else has mentioned this, but you actually can change follower skills. You can't "unclick" a skill, but if you click the other skill, say Heal after having chosen Intervene for the Templar, your new choice will be recorded.

For Impale Demon Hunter I think I'm using life on kill since that boosts life per hit with the Shadows set. Unless I'm misremembering.
You can switch the follower's abilities on the fly
Kormac is my party member ;). I've never used the other followers even once since D3 launch. I dont notice his knockback at all tbh. More than anything I hate it when the amulet procs and he pulls an entire crowd out of my star pact meteor.
My wife uses Enchantress and she always goes for The Tormenter staff for extra charming CC essentially.
Templar

Freeze shield
Ess of Johan
Unity
Occulus ring/wyrdward (depends)
Sometimes I roll enchantress on melee toons. And Templar with my wd etc.
For the Templar Freeze of Deflection follower build, you can get extra block chance on the Templar token and on the shield itself.
heh I use the templar even on my non-seasonal normal characters all of the time. Cormac is my favorite
His heals and resource regeneration can be nice, but using Kormac when you have pets makes him less useful, because then you don't really need him as a meant shield and he often can't hit single targets with pets in the way like the ranged followers do, so the utility from his items can be wasted.
On my WW Barb I bring the Enchantress for her buffs and because I don't need the tanking from the Templar.
On anything else the [WD/Crusader] the Templar.
Potions I use Diamond for my Crusader and Amplification for my Barb :)
Gave my Enchantress Maloths Focus, Pandemonium Loop, and Endless Walk. Tried using ancients and LoD with another (without set). Seemed to make them more useful at lower levels
For your Xbox fans - Enchantress
Thunderfury + Wyrdward + overwhelming desire + Charm + Disorient + Mass Control = best support.
If one is charmed then crowd will momentarily focus on charmed monsters then grouped enemies easier for her to disorient and turn to chickens all the while the cluster of enemies are frequently stunned for 2 seconds from Thunderfury +. Wyrnward combo.
Bluddshed does Haunt of Vaxo proc on followers too? some orange buffs aren't available for followers.
Hey Bludd, I recently saw this guide, and I was wondering about one thing: up until now, I always "learned" from other people that procs can't proc other procs. In other words: the legendary ability of Thunderfury cannot proc the legendary property of Wyrdward, Wyrdward can only be procced by your own skills, not by item abilities. I don't know if this is actually correct, if it's complete bovine-poop or maybe if it has been changed in a patch and I just don't know about it :) Hope you can shed some light :)
Loved the Enchantress description but what happened to the same on the Templar? Did I blink and miss it?
I always pronounce Wyrdward as "Weird-ward". There's a D in there that I think you missed. Or perhaps it's a silent D and I am mistaken. Who's to say?

I like the fear potion best (depending in the build, of course). It's a pretty good "Oh, sh-t!" potion. When I'm about to die, it's nice to get that boost to health AND scare away attackers for a few seconds. But when pushing higher GRs, I lean towards the life per hit potion or the resistance potion. It all sort of depends on my build.
One last thing. Since nobody seriously uses the scoundrel as a follower, Blizzard aughta think about giving him healing skills. I'd love a range/healer when I'm playing my barbarian. Am I wrong?
I really would’ve liked to have seen the BiS Templar setup for hardcore with unity. Does the amount of toughness he has affect how much damage he passes onto you through unity? Would be really interested to see your follower setup on HC. I wish more people made specific guides to HC because there are literally none out there as of recent.

Impale should use LPK potion for 2 reasons. First, it gives you more LPH than the LPH potion because Shadow Power gives 50% of your LPK as LPH. Second, if you pop the LPK pot and then hit Shadow Power, your LPH will snapshot to the higher value until you zone, die, use Shadow Power, or use the pot again.

I use the same items, mostly templars only with everything. Never bothered to roll items to be honest, but selected only the 85% Oculus rings (didn't even check the Wyrward rings secondary either). I don't play too much solo, specially not pushing, usually do some speed GRs for low gems, or just some "mandatory" things like 70 solo in season or things like that.
I use All resist potion for Dex and Strength characters and Armor potion for Intelligence characters. (since they benefit more from armor)

I usually run templar on all my chars. Cheat death token with block %, oculus with ias, wyrdward with ias, thunderfury with ias, and freeze of deflection with block%. I have been trying for the longest time to sort out if toxin gem is worth it to put on socketed follower jewelry. It seems to proc a ton, but I haven't been able to fully confirm this. If templar attacks, the green aura from gem looks like it spreads far and fast. If anyone can confirm or deny this, it'd help me out a ton. ;)

scoundrel + wind force + oculus + overwhelming desire/ ess of johan + any other ring... it's the best choice
His Multishot skill works really well with Windforce and the Overwhelming Desire ammy--triples the procs! My Windforce has lightning damage, so I also use Wyrdward for stuns; however, a Pandemonium Loop with a 15% chance to fear and useful legendary effect is nice if the damage type is something else.
I wish they make the followers more relevant, make use of legendary gems like poison gem and mirane gem, let the follower use them, boost damage for both you and follower!
Too bad the scoundrel is really not useful, he's my favorite companion!
Oh it is useful if you need the freeze and do not have it on your belt. It's very difficult to get freeze on the belt and a good roll. Also need the burizo kazo as his weapon for that.
@@herrwahnsinn4229: the Buriza-Do Kyanon only has a 7.5 to 10% chance to freeze, and the arrows only pierce for Demon Hunters now, so I don't find that weapon particularly useful, especially since his level 5 and level 15 skills require a bow. That weapon used to be the BIS for a Scoundrel when the arrows pieced for him.
@@mobus1603 Yes but even the belt with a 1-5% chance will still freeze, it really is a bonus attribute for the property, it's really a misleading stat.
@@herrwahnsinn4229: of course freeze on a belt is a great stat, but we're talking about a BIS weapon for a Scoundrel, and I'm saying that there are better options.
fairly easy way i have found to compleetly respec a folower... toss a access to all skills relic on them...when you restart ... pull it off ... you have the option to reselect there skills

I have seen in other videos that when you pick your follower spells you can't change that top one , I have found you can by swapping the relic I believe the one that gives them access to all spells is the one that resets them don't hold me to it being that exact relic but I accidentally stumbled on to that happening a few seasons back . Keep up the good work sir I've seen others talk about this subject that let's just say I don't waste time viewing anymore due to their info being pretty much trash. Just wanted to clarify when I say don't hold me to that I'm questioning which relic made it reset not that it can be done .
The only way to reset or unlearn skills of your followers, is by making a new character sadly. It's the only thing that vanilla D3 did better than RoS. In vanilla there was an option to "unlearn skills on your follower". What you describe by putting a "all skill" relic on your follower, to reset/unlearn skills, does not work.
No, you can only change your followers' skill while in town. You do not need to remake a toon to do it.
I am talking about UNlearning skills, so that your follower doesn't know any skill of a particular row, so that the follower will use other skills of other rows more often. Through this method you can for example prevent that the Enchantress will use knockback attacks as her basic attack, or prevent the Templar from using any of his stun abilities in the 3rd row, thus making him using his healing abilities more often.

Funny, I had the exact same setup before watching this video. Only I had to use Odyn Son since I didn't have a thunderfury. It doesn't work as well with the lower attack speed but it's good enough I guess.

Roll lightning damage onto the Eun-Jang-Do and pair with the Wyrdward ring. I always use the Templar with:

Wyrdward/Unity
Oculus Ring

I don't use a follower at all (often because I forget about them) and it does add to the challenge of the game. Is there any particular reason the life on kill pot isn't good to use? I'm currently using it on my seasonal necro and just started pushing T6 with the Innarius set (pretty sure spelled that wrong sorry).

it appears I have several primal ancients without the primal tag. I played last in 2017 and just stashed every ancient piece I found. I haven't gone thru my stash in 2 years and I can't wait until I log back in to see what I got. I had to stop playing because my wizard kept lagging out so I forgot about the game for a while. but I see all these videos saying how rare things are (which didn't seem that rare at the time when I played) I want to start a demon hunter because I already have the barb and wizard

Only in vanilla D3, this feature was removed in RoS. Blizzard should put this feature back in a future patch.
I think that you can double click on the skill to deselect it. I know there's a way to do it in RoS, but I can't think of how to do it off the top of my head.

Hey bluddshed. I was looking at the leaderboards yesterday and came across you on dhs. I'm running the same build as you but on your weapon I noticed you have arcane damage, you might wanna reroll that into lightning.
Why equip rubies on an enchantress, wouldn't it be better to equip topaz ? Or was that just the gear for your templar ?
The proc of thunderfury does NOT proc wyrdward but the thunder damage off the weapon itself does. (Procs can't proc other procs. )
Re-roll Sultan to have lightning damage and use Wyrdward so it has a chance to stun and blind :)

As of season 16, templar hands down.
Heals alone make it worth your while gearing him up.

Templar likes to charge, pop Ess of Johan, barely even seen Thunder procs.
If you choose to matching unity, it is a different game.
Enchantress, meh. As an aesthetic choice maybe, low rifts.
And honestly if you need the scoundrel, you should probably get better gear for yourself instead.
ps: you might have a hard time gearing an str/dex follower as a int class
i find it easier to level an alt of the appropriate class and pass gear over to my main.
Been using the Azurwrath for follower weapon on my Templar. Any reason that this would be a bad choice? Freezes the rift guardians anytime , better than the other freeze weapon ( can’t spell it lol) I think anyways.

The scoundrel and enchantress are mostly useless
The Enchantress isn't useless at all. Totally depends on the class and build. I'm playing a LoN DOD Carnevil WD, which has15 fetishes and relies heavily on attack speed, so the Enchantress is much better for me, because I don't need the follower as a meat shield and she can shoot over my pets, whereas the Templar just stands there sometimes when he's blocked. Her blinding sword works great against the RG.
I thought I'd add you can change the followers skill by clicking the follower potrait and hitting the skill you want(this however only seems to work in town) There is no need to start a new character for follower skills when its so easy to change them.

I guess these are really noob questions. Only just managed to put my Crusader over paragon 500 and don't understand sh*t yet, just knows that when he picks up speed he looks like a freekin windmill or something. Well to the question, I'm using the Templar as follower. If I put a legendary gem into his jewelry, does that only affect the Templar or would my Crusader also benefit from it? Question two, I got a token on the Templar saying he can't die, can I use that ring that spreads damage I take over the whole team (can't remember it's name) and the Templar takes alot of the damage but as he can't die the damage is just rolled out into thin air. Question three, what would be a normal rift level to run with a Crusader on paragon 500-550? Might also say I'm playing on Ps4 if that makes a difference. Cheers

Well apparently the computer version has better items in it than the console version, I play on ps3 and I have no cube and no really cool weapons that you and others have mentioned in your videos. Unless I haven't found whatever yet . I can play on expert lvl fairly easily and I still don't have the best stuff yet ? I've tried dropping down in difficulty to get better stuff but doesn't seem to matter . I'm at the point of getting bored because never finding anything cool sux.

Unity worn or in cube for you, follower with unity + can not die mod = they take a full 50% of the damage you would.

You can change your followers abilities. You must have them dismissed. Go up to them and select Inventory and Items, and you'll be able to swap abilities. This only works if they are not following you.

did the fix for your follower guide happen? the skills can be easily chosen without deleting or power leveling alts by just clicking on the skill you want even if its grey cos there is no restriction on that
Am I the only one that uses the Two Handed weapon that spawns a chained monster on the Enchantress? A lot of damage, extra damage from the chain/monster. Then defensivesk rings/amulets?

followers don't do any damage, unless you're in normal difficulty, seriously tho i guess they could kill a trash in one full day in t13.. maybe?, anyway damage is irrelevant on followers.
