Just imagine your kids telling you that, your perfect in their eyes. You could almost see Rhaenyra almost wanted to cry until she let out a sigh, hugged him and kissed him.
He really didn’t deserve what he got
fr. what gets me even more is that at this point luke very much knows that he is harwin's kid and not laenor's. but not about the agreement laenor and nyra had. this imply horrible things about rhaenyra. but despite this he can't see her as anything but perfect. he hears all the horrible things people say about his mother but it's impossible for him to believe them. no matter what she will brighter than any star to him.
Jace is her pride but Luke is her joy.
With this sadness she will run the show

I love how you referenced King George VI here, that's how he described Elizabeth and Margaret.
Great. Thanks. Now I’m crying 😢
Beautifully said.

Despite not being of corlys blood. You can tell that Lucaerys is a great admirer of the sea snake and sea snake has been treating him well
Right
It’s no surprise. Luke grew up with Corlys being his grandfather (by blood or not). One of his grandfathers was a king & the other one of the greatest sailors in history.
Lucerys*****
OMG and in episode 7, Corlys is telling Luke that one day Driftmark will be his, he tells Corlys he doesn't want it because that would mean everyone was dead. Which took Corlys aback.
@@daydreamcomedianneI think that was the moment Corlys no longer cared about blood, only names. That boy was his grandson son, but at that moment he no longer cared about any rumors.
I love Rhaenyra's relationship with her sons. Even after she had sons through Daemon, a man she loved, she treated her sons with Harwin with so much love and importance, more than her father did for Aegon, Helaena, and Aemond.
In the books viserays loved haelena and also rhaenyra also loved harwin and that's why she loved her first borns
@@ellaj.659 I am sure she loved him in the show as well, but we never got to explore their relationship here. What I’m saying, though is that no matter how much she loved Harwyn, it was never on the same level as Daemon. It didn’t stop her from raising her sons that way though.
@@ellaj.659 Never and nowhere was it said that she loved harwin, only Daemon. And she loved her first borns because they are her children after all
@@hereiam8 she either loved him or REALLY liked him since she had a 10 year affair and three bastard kids with him knowing the risk
@@30251 and she also told daemon in episode 7, that fire took away something they both loved, so of course rhaenyra loves harwin
he was so little and insecure 😢 it's such a shame that we didn't get to see the man that he would have become..

I think it's would had been interesting a character development of Luke
Emma exudes such calm warmth here
I have to say... I'm a grown up but I think the tender gesture of Rhaenyra kissing Lucerys' head and smiling after he called her perfect is such a beautiful moment between mother and son. I think it was beautifully written because it gives us insight in their relationship and shows humanity in a world (and a game) that is anything but human. We know how it ends obviously, so it makes it even more precious, but even without Luke's death it would still be a lovely moment. Rhaenyra basically loves all her children and they respect her and love her as well, unconditionally. Luke is more insecure than Jaceaerys. Rhaenyra knows it and encourages him by sending him to Borros Baratheon. She can't know it'll be the death of him.
I think she connected with Luke more than any of her children, he was the sweetness and gentleness inside of her. I think when he died so did all the warmth inside her.

I know! I'm 33, seen ALOT of movies films in my lifetime and don't think I've ever seen such a beautiful love and admiration those boys have for thier mother. I'm childless myself, so it makes me envy all you ladies with sons for sure! They become your little protectors and help with big boy duties late in life
Lucerys and Rhaenyra had a great and lovey mother and son relationship until it ended
I love the way she say sweet boy and the way she kiss her son
People talk about what a great mother Rhaenyra is but its really Emmas performence that sells it. Her and Olivia Cookes acting is what makes this season a 10/10

It's interesting how Rhaenyra is a better mother than Alicent despite not really wanting to be one initially while Alicent was raised into it and yet she became a bad mom with her boys
I love how she admits to him that she is not perfect she knows she has made mistakes but is trying her best to be mature about everything.
A perfect Queen Mother..
Luc shows vulnerability to his mother and she responds with warm affection and humble counsel. Contrast this with Aegon expressing vulnerability to his mother Alicent and her response of "You imbecile". Great use of show don't tell...
Idk. Hard to love a rapist son.
This is one of my favorite scenes.💕
I mean, Luke is not a r*pist, he did gauge Aemond's eye but it was self defense. But I see it must be easier to nurture and love Luke than Aegon. (Please I'm not fighting, don't curse at me)
@@HelaEnna gouging Aemond's eye was not self defence they atacked him not the other way around.
@@masterplokoon8803 luke was at most 6 years old. he had no idea what the right thing to do was, all he knew is that he had to defend his brother after he saw aemond hit him in the head with a rock.
Honestly that world would be better off if more people thought like Luc. He didn't just consider his own position, he considered his own capability of holding it. Even though Driftmark is the cash cow of the kingdom and a prestigious seat besides, Luc did not want to claim something when he couldn't pay the price.
A kind, gentle and strong boy.
Say it again!
@@trigzzfrl3013 'Twas only a compliment..
was is kind and gentle to tease a person who eye you have cut out?
@@TheMagicAround boys will be boys didn’t deserve to be munched by an ancient dragon bro
@@EP_mcit's ok to tease someone about an old joke but considering how much pain and trauma he inflicted on Aemond he probably should try to make amends about the lost eye before thinking he is in any position to joke about Aemond.
Rhaenyra is very strong and regal; but she is also tender. She is a wonderful character - wonderfully portrayed by Emma D'Arcy. She is a queen I'd be willing to follow.
Best of mother of the year. She treat them all equally in their own special way even her step-daughter/cousin as her own
The way she wanted to be loved and honoured but was not...
When luke said i'm not like you i'm not that perfect and i saw rhaenyra's face my heart died there was such famyli love..... Luke was just embodiment of cuteness and love
GAH whenever I see this I can't stop thinking about what Emma Darcy said, about how they think Rhaenyra found comfort in her children after spending so long fearing motherhood. It's such an interesting bit of writing, how Rhaenyra is a more "natural" mother in contrast to Alicent who was essentially raised into it. And while Alicent loves her children fiercely (I don't think anyone can doubt that), it's so fascinating to me how her children react to her vs how Rhaenyra's kids think she hung the moon, really.
IM NOT DONE. I think it's cool they continued the theme of foils with both Alicent and Rhaenyra's second sons, both of them (imo) cherished by their mothers, but they show that by trying to enact their mothers' will in different ways. Luke promises no violence. Aemond assumes violence will appease his mother. It's just ... the PARALLELS THE THEMES IM... ROTATING THEM ALL HAPPILY IN MY MIND!! 🧠🧠🧠

@@lukesguywalker it is like you did not see the previous episodes and which child started the violence 🤣
@@TheMagicAround Aemond instigated the fight and further escalated. The reason why his eye got cut. Luke and Jace can't be at fault when they only started to fight to defend Baela and Rhaena.
For Alicent her children are tools to rule, for Rhanyra her children are her legacy. Its that simple.
I just saw that scene and he was just a baby like his dragon, I feel so sad for them and for his mother. Clearly she loved her sons like anything else in the world.
Agree
"Perfect" lmaooo, such a cute, adorable moment between mommy and her babe. sobbs
Rhaenyra is great mother. She truly loves her boys and she knows they're people not only pawns in a game of thrones
& that’s exactly why blood & cheese happened not because they killed her sons but because he was just a boy an envoy & Aemond murdered him in cold blood like a coward! & the pain rhaenyra felt could only be reciprocated in a way that only a mother could know & that’s why they lost Jaehaerys because they needed to feel what it felt like to experience a parents loss ❤️🖤🔥🩸
@@christinahutchinson2884 plus dumb Aegon celebrated Aemond's crime. It also might be reason Daemon's revenge was so cruel
You can clearly tell Luke was her favourite of the 3 Velaryon boys. Well we haven't seen her interact with Joffrey yet but it's clearly Luke she had a soft spot for
Mostly after Aemond incident
She loved all of them with all her heart but in my opinion She always had a soft spot for all 3 strong boys, each of them for different reason.. Luke was the sweet one, Jace the smart one and Joff the impulsive and all 3 of them were brave. Each of them represent a part of her personality.
and all three of them were strong @@blackpearl3969
Lucerys did not deserve his fate. Yes, he sliced out Aemond's eye but it was in defence of his brother whom Aemond seemed seriously poised to fatally harm.
the first seconds of this video...I imagine as if he came from death to revisit that moment and say to his mom "mom I love you, don't be sad, I came to never leave you"
Really interesting to see the contrast between rhaenyra and alicent. They both love their children and they’re trying to protect them but Alicent is too paranoid from her father’s influence she wasn’t able to raise them with the gentle acceptance and love rhaenyra shows her kids. For me, the way a girl’s upbringing affects the way she brings up her own kids is one of the most interesting themes the GoT universe explores.
Oh I just melt when he says that!!! So perfect 🥰

It’s really interesting how Rhaenyra went from fearing pregnancy (because she saw what her mother went through to give Viserys a son) and saying she would rather be knight to having 5 children in 6 pregnancies. I would have loved to see her transition into motherhood and how she came to love it. After Jace, she could have said « I did my duty, I have a son, an heir. That’s it » but she chose to have other kids with the 2 men she loved. And that’s the biggest difference between her and Alicent. Alicent had those pregnancies forced upon her by a man she didn’t love but probably also by her father pressuring her to do her duty, even if he wasn’t there physically anymore. I mean we saw a sex scene with Viserys and she was just there. She loves her kids I’m sure but I understand why she might not be emotionally connected to them the way Rhaenyra is to her kids. Also Rhaenyra’s kids had father figures around them, that actually loved them. Viserys wasn’t exactly a good father.
‘I am not so perfect’ bless him he is still at that age where he thinks his parents can do no wrong! I love though how Rhaenyra assures him by saying ‘I am anything but’. Unlike Alicent who sees herself as a high and mighty moraliser over everyone, Rhaenyra admits her faults and teaches her children to be the best of themselves.
Someone please show Alicent that this is what real parenting looks like.
Rhaenrya as mother nurturing her kids with warmth and emotional love, >>>> Alicent always forcing her kids
She looks so beautiful here
Beautiful scene I wish we could’ve seen a hug before Lucerys fled
They wanted to keep it tragic
Thank you for posting this without any stupid cuts.
*Cries in high Valerian*
They may extinct
I think its clear to see whos in the right for this conflict based off of both mothers' relationships with their children. Alicent expects her children to do what she tells them to because she always did what her father told her to do. Rhaenyra gives the kids some choice in what they want to do but educates them on what they should do.
In what way sweet boy? 😍
Sweetest moment ever is when he called her perfect
If only he could have grown old....poor boy 😞
Such a wonderful scene
She is a good mother. At least she is better in this.
Mother love .....
what episode is this?
Music?
Luke shouldn’t have laughed in front of his uncle with that roasted pig. Apologizing might have help in his favor
apologizing wouldn't have changed a thing.
I think they should have changed his death like they did laenor like at least kill him off after he tries to claim driftmark and grows up a bit more would have loved to see his development. Like make Aemond and vhagar injure him like his dragon dies and he falls in the sea but is recovered by strangers and unconscious so the dance happens and then say in the middle of the dance he awakens and takes up arms probably claims another dragon like one of the three wild ones.
While I hate that he died, a part of me is glad they didn't save him.
Without him gone the dance of the dragon would not start...
Just waiting on the Black Queen next action on his death...
That's too fanficy
He also dies in the book though and it starts the whole war. There is a theory in the book ( a very unlikely one ) that he survived, lost his memory and lived as a poor fisher. He never regained his memory though.
Maybe that gives you some peace😊

Not so perfect, not so… Strong?
Rhaenyra should've given up her claim and Aegon should've done the same.
Aemond would've made a very strong ruler and kept House Targaryen strong.
aemond would've been a second Maegor.

Yeah yeah.. After committing something heinous what that little bastard did to Aemond and his c**t mommy saved his arse.. So yeah definitely she will be perfect for that bastard..

Just as Aemond thinks his is. At least Lucerys has a reason to believe his mother is “perfect” as she’s been nothing but amazing and loving towards him as his brothers. Then we have Alicent who openly favored Aemond was an awful mother to his siblings. Yet Aemond is still mommy’s little pet.
