4K City Walks: Helsinki Finland Morning Walk - Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video starts off at the train station in the morning and walks back around to the Helsinki Music center and then back over towards the Hietalahti area and then back around to downtown.

Helsinki is the capital and most populous city of Finland. Located on the shore of the Gulf of Finland, it is the seat of the region of Uusimaa in southern Finland, and has a population of 650,058. The city's urban area has a population of 1,268,296, making it by far the most populous urban area in Finland as well as the country's most important center for politics, education, finance, culture, and research. Helsinki is located 80 kilometres (50 mi) north of Tallinn, Estonia, 400 km (250 mi) east of Stockholm, Sweden, and 300 km (190 mi) west of Saint Petersburg, Russia. It has close historical ties with these three cities.
Together with the cities of Espoo, Vantaa, and Kauniainen, and surrounding commuter towns, Helsinki forms the Greater Helsinkimetropolitan area, which has a population of nearly 1.5 million. Often considered to be Finland's only metropolis, it is the world's northernmost metro area with over one million people as well as the northernmost capital of an EU member state. After Stockholm and Oslo, Helsinki is the third largest municipality in the Nordic countries. The city is served by the international Helsinki Airport, located in the neighboring city of Vantaa, with frequent service to many destinations in Europe and Asia.
Helsinki was the World Design Capital for 2012, the venue for the 1952 Summer Olympics, and the host of the 52nd Eurovision Song Contest in 2007.
Helsinki has one of the highest urban standards of living in the world. In 2011, the British magazine Monocle ranked Helsinki the world's most liveable city in its liveable cities index. In the Economist Intelligence Unit's 2016 liveability survey, Helsinki was ranked ninth among 140 cities.

There are many ways to see the great city of Helsinki. You can catch a Hop on Hop off bus for helsinki sightseeing tour. You can take a free walking tour helsinki. You can see many helsinki attractions while helsinki sightseeing on your free walking tour of helsinki. There are many day trips from helsinki as well but if you have just one day in helsinki, as we did, you mind consider seeing helsinki foot, or rather on foot. The helsinki sights are many and varied and many places to visit and things to see in helsinki. Helsinki tourist attractions are often best seen with a helsinki city tour.
Now that is one clean city.

I love Finland and people are calm and respectful. Helsinki is soooo beautiful city and mixing natures. I was there for one month on summer time, so nice experienced and I felt something similar to my country Japan. Cheer!

Beautiful video, nice walk, thank you so much ! 😄 It remembers me my travel in Helsinki in summer. It's so pleasant to see again all these places where I went in this beautiful town thanks to your video. I chose Helsinki for my first travel alone. The first time I walked in the town I was like "This city is too big!". And then, after walking and walking with my map, it was like the city became a part of me. I was surprised to discover how many wonderful places this city has : Hietaniemi beach, Katajanokka and Kaivopuisto park were my favorite ones. And Suomenlinna is soooo nice to take a picnic ! Lucky are the Finns to have a such wonderful capital. Hope I can walk again in all these streets and eat some delicious korvapuusti in a peaceful park. Kiitos ! 😁

@@CityWalks I noticed it right away because of the style. Never seen streetlights hang from wires that way but I like it. Thank you for responding.
@@millvee1005 It's a thing in all the Nordic capitals of Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki downtown areas. All the street lights in the downtown are on wires. Example the old solid copper shades at least used in Helsinki are quite sought after.
Maybe tram wires have something to do with it?
@@tissot233 Its very interesting and different because I was trying to figure out how those lights were supported and I saw that the support wires are mounted off buildings and some poles. I like different styles of lighting and I guess its something that most people don't notice or pay attention to, oh well I guess I'm no ordinary person.
This makes me miss Helsinki even more. I was last there in August 2018. Such a wonderful place.

Been there. Everyone was gorgeous. I was 17 and ate so much food because I just came in from Russia and hadn't eaten in 3 weeks.

Very clean but austere

It's missing some green areas
Helsinki has a lot of space for car traffic and parking. You don't really see the people that much because they're hidden away in metal cages and the parking takes up space from trees, terraces, and bike lanes. Land use is still pretty abysmal in Helsinki.

I don't mind walking if the streets are so comfy and neat like that ❤️. But here in my country, the streets are designed for vehicles only. Almost no space for people to walk. You will need extra concentration to walk in order to not bumped by a car. And also very unorganized. I wish i can move to finland one day

But never ever lived in village while I was growing up in Sri Lanka indeed big city is Colombo 2 nd largest city is Jaffna but I was born & raised in kandy my parents from northern province 20 miles away from Jaffna
