This was genuinely one of the most rewarding thing I've listened to in a long time.
Jaques Derrida's theory of Hauntology (formed around the mid-late 80s) can help explain how and why a significant part of electronic and pop music is 'haunted and living in the past' - Synthpop, Synthwave, Vaporwave, NuDisco etc are indeed revivalism - and an example of Hauntology. Late Mark Fisher stated with much irony "the future has been cancelled"
PS. Check out Caretaker. Lets go back to 1920 !

Great
I wish you guys talked more about "Rights for gays". You wee getting into something interesting and you switched topic.
Tituru Fighturu Harper talks about that song a lot in his book on Maus published by Precinct
What is the song playing during the intro please?
It's John Maus - Tenebrae
14:50s discussion of Maus's choice of voice for 'Homosexuals', which is almost identical to Ian Curtis', singer of Joy Division, who committed suicide and was a closet homosexual. I feel John is evolving and propelling a feeling, by altering the message, echoing along the passage/ this wave of 'time'. I love his songs!
"Closeted" you mean, and no, his wife at one time suspected him of having a homosexual affair, but other than that there's nothing out there to suggest he was in the closet or even gay, one person said one thing and it was a "might" that's not enough evidence to be so definite in your statement, where did you get this idea from? if i can ask?
Yeah I want to know too?
