Great discussion - I really appreciated. I've bought a new 2016 Tacoma at the end of 2015. It had all the options suitable for off roading (4X4, etc). I put a Four Wheel Camper on it and took off. I've got about 255,000 miles on it. I'm retired, so I spend at least half time on the road. When I showed my shiny new setup to my friend (a senior mechanical engineer), he really liked it - then he chewed me out for not talking to him first. He gave me 3 pages of instructions as to what to do to make it what he called "safe". Well, before I got around to doing anything I managed to break my rear axial. Your advise about getting a 3/4 ton is very good.

I like that you have recorded these discussions since they often happen while I am at work. Now I don't have to miss out.
