On fire, now.
I love the content you are making. However having to sign up for your website and then possibly pay to be able to see the route is stupid. You’re locking out a lot of traffic because of this. Some of your posts for Oregon are missing some essential information as well. Any of the “free” content you have posted still requires me to give my information. I understand you’re trying to make money, but if everyone who visits the website gets turned off by the things I mentioned there’s no potential for them being a customer. At least give us something that would make us want to pay. Spending 45 to 65 for map and poi info of unknown quality is just not happening. I’d have better luck stopping and asking locals for directions and spending the money on gas and food.
Hi @beekydogg, Perhaps you didn't see, but we offer the track-only version of the Lassen BDT for free. We offer this for many other well known tracks that are already in the public domain, such as the Plumas BDT, Pacific Crest Overland Route, and Mojave Road. So while you'll have to subscribe to gain access to our proprietary routes, there are quite a few that don't require any payment info. All you need to do is register with your email. Feel free to join our online community or FB group. Folks will tell you we have the most detailed GPX files in the biz.
OMG!!! I hate seeing Kamala's face asking for money!
As a local i have camped in all his spots, and would never want to be anywhere else. Absolutely beautiful here!!!
TFS That last leg (ending) is definitely not our ideal destination when tooling around. Signed, Central Coast Marauders
I would have loved to travel north america before the European's took over, how stunning the landscape must have been. 🙏
Thanks for sharing.
hi,please check your e-mail!
hi,please check your e-mail.
Really cool seeing you cruise around my old hood. I used to live on Island Mountain, up in Garberville back country. Bell Springs Road is legendary!
cool stuff! Was just up on Dyerville Loop and Alderpoint Road this past weekend. We skipped Bell Springs to get to camp along the south fork of the Eel a few hours earlier. Absolutely beautiful country up that way! Island Mountain, like many of the spots up that way had quite the reputation back in the day ;)
@@OverlandTrailGuides haha, oh yes, I was there in the peak years. Naive to all that when I arrived but quickly learned! Really amazing actually what a different world it is back there and the community of folks that have been there for decades.
Why does everyone bumper lock each other ? Eating other peoples dust doesn’t seem good for the environment churning up dust and vehicle air cleaners.
Wow! I haven't been up there since the fires! 😢 Quite a shock. Once upon a time I did a lot of camping all around up there. Unreal how little snow there is on Lassen and Shasta!
This looks amazing. I'm looking at doing this trip with my daughter with my truck and we'll have my KTM690 along to explore more. What time of year was the video filmed? Also, any pointers for more intense off-road to play with the bike on?
i did half of this pardoes trail ("hungaleti west" onX) starting from lower bear river res entry and stopped at 38.58187, -120.13276 in a 03 trailblazer ext on 31s no sliders and went back the same way... its not as extreme as the site/this video says looks. a few scuff on my rear diff/ sway bar... no biggie and had my wife(whos never been off roading more that through the bear res campground and the fire roads surrounding in sxs) spot me on blown out mud section. youll be slow but you can do(the western half) pardoes on baby tires and 4wd
Do you need permits to overland the lost coast trail?
@@otterthrash please check the route guide on our website, as it has detailed information about everything you need to know.
Mine works well also.
I was waiting for the overland tour of Murder Mountain
Heed the private property signs and you'll be just fine. Less and less of that going on up that way with the cannabis market in free fall.
Be careful letting dogs drink from natural water sources, there are more and more cases of blue green algae outbreaks in natural bodies of water poisoning dogs and you often can’t see it (and it’s not always blue green when you do).
Awesome video thank you
very nice
Hey, love your channel! We live in Ashland and want to head up to Bend for some Overland camping. Do you have any recommendations?
Sounds like you need to visit our website!! We’ve got tons of routes all over the West Coast and a few that run in and around Bend as well. Overlandtrailguides.com
Can you take an off road trailer on this route you think?
Bro, you lost me "rapidly warming planet" read the science.
Stay lost.
It was fun watching your video after doing this trail ourselves last Fall. We really enjoyed our trip and we appreciated having your guide to help navigate!
I live near Upper Lake. My older sister once managed the Blue Wing restaurant there a few years ago. If I ever manage to obtain a 4WD vehicle this will definitely be the first trail I hit. Thanks for giving me a preview of what it's like. Happy Overlanding!
How does your friend with the Ranger find it handles with a camper? What camper is it and do you know about what it weighs?
Beautiful video.
Nice work, it did not seem like a difficult trail, very scenic :)
That guy with the flashing rear lights would drive me nuts if I was behind him . I know you must have mentioned it, but what time of year was this?
Ain't nothin like Oregon. I live a couple hours north of here, and have often seen views like these. It's achingly beautiful for this Texas boy.
Consider a Solo Stove instead of fire rings. It uses less wood and easy to cook on. We prefer the Bonfire model because the usual store bought firewood fits nicely inside so the stove takes only a little more room than just hauling the firewood. Better in windy conditions also.
Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing these tips to find sites. Very helpful basic points to get started. Another creator mentioned that they also will pin drop fuel stops and stores along the route if possible. Like you said having as much info as possible is good.
I grew up in this area. Spent many nights as a high schooler at the swinging bridge. This was awesome to watch and brought back so much nostalgia. I hope you enjoyed it, this its my mental image of Southern Oregon. Great video!
Great video. However, you speak of hallucinations on the AI sites. But when you out in your queries, you do not state that you are looking for motor vehicle dispersed camping! Keep in mind that discussed camping is not just "car camping". A lot of the places you looked at do allow dispersed camping, if it is hiking or biking and such. So, you should add the fact that your looking for vehicle camping to be accurate! Other than that, really informative...
I lived in Humboldt Co 36 years,The best memories of my life.Thank you for the video.
I’m from west texas we literally have no trees I went to the redwoods when I was 14 around 2004 it was nice out there the coast right in trinadad was beautiful them redwoods are huge it’s crazy how big they are
Thanks for this great methodology for setting out a planned trip. Much appreciated.
Good thing you went a year ago this year should be hotter
Nature is a place like Eden. A place like no other. A place where Giants dwell.
As a San Benito native, it's surreal to see aerial drone footage of Idria. I'd always wanted to visit, despite the urban legends alleging that its few remaining residents were mercury-poisoned, "The Hills Have Eyes" types who'd shoot at you if you came too close to their property. (Although what _really_ kept me away was learning that there had been traces of hantavirus found in some of the run-down buildings.) As a kid I had always thought people were pulling my leg when they said the water there was orange, but it's a very real result of acidic mine runoff.
Awesome video 👍thanks for sharing 🙏😎
Hey, Boogie, what are yah a medium? A shaman maybe? How are you supposed to spot a ghost town? Ghosting is in‐invisible. Phantoms are scary, and just because you're from California. Well so am I, it's Cowboys and Indians here, The wild West meets crest. The sunsets into the sea, here you see between Hawaii and Japan and the East and the West. I don't jest boo huo Hu huo. That's why they all wanna live here. And wherever you who are Prince and princess, Oprah obsess Ellen DeGeneres.
Grand tour!
I’m trying to download the tracks from the website, can’t seem to find the link to download though?
Check the digital maps and GPX files section under the route overview section
We ran into one of the OWL people out there 30 years ago…never went back😂
This sounds interesting… owl people???
@@OverlandTrailGuides There were stories of these Owl people who lived out there for years. I was there with my boyfriend and this guy came out of nowhere…he looked homeless and said he was part of them. He asked if we wanted to come back with him. We politely declined and LEFT. Super weird😂
Thank you for the video. There is lots of great content. I've got a small shop in eastern Washington and getting into the overland business. Starting out as a repair shop. Been a dealer tech for over 20 years. Thanks great interview
Great video. Homebound so thank you
How can I get your route you took? And would I be able to take a 32ft toy holler on that route.
All info can be found in the description. FYI, only street legal vehicles are permitted in this route. You’ll have trouble with the toy hauler going thru Hoopa Tribal Lands.
