    Quite the age differences on that field from Early Archaic (bifurcate) to woodland (triangle). Too bad about the bit on that celt but still a really nice piece. That beautiful blade sticking straight up from the soil is a killer. Great hunt Tom!

    Great haul , and yes it’s always great when you just know it’s broke then you pull it and it’s not ! Great video, thanks for sharing

    Couple days in some very productive spots. Definitely cool finding another Celt in that same field. Shame about the bit. It’s definitely better than nothing though. What a suspenseful pull too on the huge tip sticking straight up!! That was bittersweet. Still fun! Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

    Great to see you still out making great finds, Tom! Soon the corn will be too tall. Your tombstone point is a dandy..even broken. That's how I found my 1st Clovis was tombstoned. Best of luck out there my friend!

    Great hunt! You definitely found several real heartbreakers! I guess it is part of artifact hunting, but it still sucks when you find a killer piece that is broken. Good luck on your next hunt!

    Action packed vid brother. Some great finds, even the broken ones were nice. And just a side note from one arrowhead hunter to another, I wouldn’t let people know when you will be out of town. Sadly gotta watch that nowadays👍🇺🇸

    Slim pickins for me still. My buddy's people plowed my usual hunting field and disced it before I knew about it and didn't get as much done due to some kind of equipment failure. First time was too dry to see anything; it was all the color of baked dirt! Then we got that much needed rain, and the weeds had exploded. Found an archaic piece of some sort with the base missing and a lone stem last night. Probably it for the year for me, but if I find one solid artifact, I call it a good year.

    Thank you for hunting and posting. Always love your videos. I have been in a couple fields that produced several celts and then of course many fields that haven't produced any. It makes me wonder what was there in those celt fields that created the need or activity for the celts. Were they chopping vegetation to make baskets or rope. Were they chopping saplings to harvest spears or atlatl darts. Were they chopping trees for roundhouses and/or long houses or maybe carving out logs for canoes? Since we are talking about hunters and gathers, then many believe that the celts could have been the tool of the female Native American assuming that they were doing most of the gathering and processing of resources local to the area. It really captures the imagination!

    What do you call the type of flint used on the triangle?

    Hey Tom, could you potentially tell me more about the point your holding at 11:20

    • @commissionertom
      @commissionertom  Před rokem

      It’s probably a reworked point that was damaged and rechipped.

    Had to laugh Im afraid to pull it. Ive done that many times. Always wanted to dig one out dirt and all and put in in a plexiglass glass case .In situ. with a lock on the case . In case someone couldn't resist pulling it Peace

      This one was unusual with the way it stuck up from the dirt. Sigh.

  • @Doc-Cole_Trickle-of-Chainsaws

    Found a nice all black arrowhead shaped like the Star Trek logo recently. Anybody know @ what era or tribe that it's from?

    Are these from the same Indians that work in call centers? Can’t remember the name.
