    ABOUT VEDANTA
Vedanta is one of the world’s most ancient religious philosophies and one of its broadest. Based on the Vedas, the sacred scriptures of India, Vedanta affirms the oneness of existence, the divinity of the soul, and the harmony of religions.
    ABOUT US

We are all NPCs in the great video game. Each thinking, feeling and behaving as if we know what our fate is, but the truth is there is a greater awareness that we as yet can't comprehend.

I have been struggling with this question eversince I lost my son 2 years ago... I wonder, what must have been his last thoughts, was he scared, was he at peace, was he upset with me for not being able to do anything to save him, could he sense my helplessness, could he sense his death approach, did he resign to his impending end.... And many more such questions... Today Swamiji has put an intellectual end to my questions... I have to now make peace with the fact that I will never know...
Swamiji, thank you for providing me closure on this front...🙏🙏

I just want to emphasis on the fact that even the so-called "awareness" is yet another "word" in the "language" which is the medium of mind/thinking (without language as a set of symbols thinking is impossible) that is also anthropocentric and a concept "in mind". Advaita quite literally means non-dual, so, at the risk of being overly anthropocentric, as Brahman and its ineffable mystery cannot ever be rationalised, I would say that, from the so-called "point of view" of Brahman (which is not even a "view" limited to an individual mind, hence cannot be even called a "view") there is NO duality happening as we see and experience them.
    .......
In other words, and in response to your question: "is there even the possibility of awareness itself asking the question?"
I would say that first of all, "awareness" IS NOT an individual to begin with, yet the important point here is that when we are saying it's not an individual it does not mean it CANNOT or is not able to manifest or be an individual either. Brahman as in the practice of "Neti Neti" cannot be thought of, rationalised or even imagined. One cannot even point towards Brahman and attribute a quality or quantity to it; so the very act of differentiating between awareness and mind itself is not real, is not true at all.
    .......
Moreover, following the same understanding, the notions such as "possibility" or "impossibility" are also absurd and meaningless here. Again in other words, it can be said that "the ineffable absolute reality" can mysteriously be manifested/appear as individuals (which we are); and yet also stand beyond the limitations of individualities and mental/linguistic concepts. That is the exact same meaning of the "Nature of God" being transcendent from all phenomenons and yet ineffably also immanent in all those very phenomenons. Absolute Reality could very well manifest or appear as totally different universe with totally different sets of rules, forms, qualities and with different unimaginable forms of individuals. Is not it even absurd to think that for the absolute reality that is manifesting all this universes and phenomenons (maya) questioning is an impossibility? IT IS OUR MIND who is trying to always rationalise these philosophical notions to make sense of what it can digest and understand, but it does not mean that the Absolute Reality is also limited to our thoughts of it!
    .......
And finally if we must, it could be said that, the Avatars or the absolute perfect manifestations of the the non-dual ineffable Brahman are the ones who (to our mind) are able to think, act and function with mind (although an absolute perfection of a mind); however, again we should not forget that all of these distinctions and differentiations are nothing but the play of mind simply because mind cannot make sense of THAT which is beyond mind and hence can only rely on speculations and play of words to try in vain explaining THAT which is impossible to explain; expressing THAT which is impossible to being expressed. After all, all of these manifestations are nothing but Brahman itself that is ineffably/mysteriously appearing as many... Hope it helps. ~peace

In our dream, only our mind exists. In reality, only the Universal Mind exists. In the dream, everything is our own mind, although this is false for the dream subject. In reality, everything is the Universal Mind and It alone, although this seems false to us.

@@konnektlive Thank you so much for making the effort to answer to answer this question of this mind :) .. But going on a tangent here to follow up, this Brahman which is inexplicable inexpressable and beyond imagination is ultimately reflected in a pure heart/mind right?? Swamiji's last statement that this feeling 'YOU ARE THAT' in advaitic meditation is just the mind playing tricks.. But then this so called enlightenment or Sahaja stiti is again only a state of the mind right?? where does the Brahman come into question??

The biggest enemy is your knowledge. The more you know It, the more you
do not have it . Knowledge replace the true clarity. All knowledge is trash. All explanations are useless. All understandings are futile. Only true understanding happens when true clarity appears.True clarity comes when all knowledge fades. True understanding comes out of non-knowledge, but petty understanding comes with knowledge. True clarity comes out of non-knowledge but petty clarity comes through knowledge. Petty knowledge and petty understanding is food for mind but heart remain always thirsty. Quench the thirst of heart but not the greed of mind. Mind is greedy for knowledge , it makes its survival , it gives it safety , power, control , dominance ,satisfactions, relaxation, this in turn gives some good feeling and some happiness which is mistaken to true experience. These petty happiness and good feelings always leave pain behind.
Heart is thirsty of experience.Heart is not interested into knowing but having it , heart is not interested in observing of ocean but to dive into it. Heart is not the viewer or watcher but it is mirror where everything reflects. Heart is not interested in gaining or achieving . This is not an emotional heart which is extension of mind. The language of heart is neither win nor loss, neither happiness nor sadness , whatever comes in its way is its way. It does not know what is choosing, it does not know what is fear , it does not know what is knowing. The heart neither stops nor becomes tired . Do not seek experience but be it. So throw away the bags of burden and mountains of knowledge from your shoulders.
You do not have to travel thousands miles tough journey and crossing all oceans and mountains to reach at where you are standing now.
When you are healthy , you do not know your body .You do not know about your head until it gets headache. You do not know about your mind until it does not have thoughts. You only get to know about your ignorance but you will never know about the Truth.
There is nothing known that should to know. So approach the Unknown by being unknown.
