I have another question. Does Daniel have to wait until 3 years to apply for citizenship?
We got married in 2019 but we didn’t apply until 2021 and we had our interview in December 2023.
Yes, he has to wait 3 years from date of getting his green card and living in U.S. Spouses get the 3 year advantage while everyone else it’s 5 years.

Hi, you’re welcome. The timeframe really depends on the NVC workload, but typically isn’t more than 2 to 3 months to be documentarily qualified. Your longest wait time will be from being DQ (documentarily qualified) to getting your interview date. Especially if your embassy is behind.

We are CR1 and my husband is from Nigeria. We submitted all paperwork to NVC on 23March24 and were DQ on Thursday this week 28March24. Wondering how long will take for interview in Lagos
@@daniellem5081 Hi, the last updates I’ve seen were from 2022 and they were over a year behind scheduling interviews for those DQ in 2021. I’m not sure if it has sped up. I got this info from individuals on visa journey.com.
