Things have certainly changed over the years. As an am American I was on vacation in Jamaica at a friend's home, on the day of my departure her 8 year old daughter begged me to take her to America, although her parents (my good friends) thought it was an insane idea to go to the US embassy that morning to secure a visitor visa for her. No appointment was needed back then so off we went, I explained that i wanted to have her experience a summer in the US, that 8 year old recited like a memorized poem how she envisioned a vacation filled with excitement, before she finished her dialogue the interviewer stated "Have a great vscation" and the rest is history!!!!

Thank for the update and they are sending interviews later for April if you were DQ in December and January in the IR1 and IR2 category
Unless you expedite they just got to DQ date of May 2021 for that category, and those persons received July appointments. So you would have a long line ahead of you.

Hey. I came through FLL and I had to wait a little over and hour because there was just 1 person dealing with the new immigrants and he was not at his post (he was dealing with someone else). The actual processing was quick though, he just verified the information they had in file and asked what field I was looking to work in. I had to join the regular visitor’s line.

Hi, I have a worry, when filling out my DS260 form I mentioned my spouse information but didn't fill a separate Ds260 for her, but when my interview letter came her name was mentioned is it a problem or can it be corrected at the embassy?
Hey, that’s weird. I would think that NVC would prompt you for the payment for the visa application for everyone applying before you get DQ. I think you should call to find out. Wish I could advice you further.
In F3 category, the petitioner has not been in the USA for a long time, about 10 years. Currently he is in USA. He had no tax file and no income. But the co-sponsor has all the papers.
Now, when filling up DS-260, what documents should Petitioner submit instead of tax return / proof of income?
Or do last year's tax return now even though he was not in USA last year.

You will need the tax papers and affidavit of support from the cosponsor.

My mom was eligible since the year Covid came out. It’s 2023 (Sept), and that’s when I heard a response about interview. To be fair, they had me resubmit documents like updates tax returns all the way up until the same year of the visa interview.
My husband came down for a funeral and he ask me how I end up at the funeral and whose funeral is it but luckily I told him we met at at gathering before the funeral

That’s a tough one hun, they are currently at 2024 where appointments are concerned for visitor’s visa. Unless you have a real emergency or you are renewing, you will have a very long wait.
I get a message in my mail box say my DOS visa is ready and available for pick up but my status say refused I don’t understand
They probably just take a little while to update their system, but if you got that email, your document is ready.
I’m waiting for my interview date 😓 My case was expedited through NVC and was approved so I’m waiting for embassy to give me a date now. But question, did they tell you which documents to take when you received the appointment packet?
Hey hun. There is a link in the appointment email that goes through a checklist. You basically need all the original for the documents that you submitted at NVC. Ensure that you have the latest tax documents (2021 W2). Many persons are being delayed because they did not know.

Maybe you could try calling the courier to check if the passport was sent over to them or try logging into your ceac account to check the status (whether it was issued or still in administrative processing).

Hey, base on how they are moving, it’s likely that between August and December you can expect your IL. DISCLAIMER: This is just based off observations. If they speed things up it could be sooner.

Kingston turned down my daughter at the age of 4 5 and 6. 3 times!!!! Even though I had a b1/b2 visa and her father was living in the states. Smh
So sorry to hear that, they probably thinking if she is in Jamaica you will have a reason to return.
My mom did her interview August 23rd, they took her passport and said they didn’t receive her medical as yet. On the next day (24th) she got an email from US medical saying she is missing one vaccine. She submitted the vaccine via email US medical provided. I have been calling US medical to see if they received it and each time I talk to someone I get a different answer. When I checked her status it still says refused but was last updated on the 29th . Who do you think I should call to ensure they received it and getting the process going ?
Hey hun, so sorry to hear that. So why didn’t they give her the vaccine at the medical? 😩 When I went to mine, they didn’t have the flu shot so I went outside to get it. They had given me an email address yo send it to them, but I did no such thing. I took a scan of it on my phone and I went back there ,physically, and handed it to them. You have to keep calling them, hopefully you will get someone who can give you the right information.
@@plummerlove when she went to the medical they told her she was up to date with everything and then after the fact they send for a missing vaccine. I should’ve made her submit it in person but she doesn’t live in Kingston so it would’ve been another far drive to go back there. I am going to call Monday again and see if they got it and submit it to the doctor for review. Thank you!

Hi hun. Yes, I brought along the I-864 as well as the W2s. They took only the W2s but I brought everything, so if they needed it I would have had it.😅

Hey, sorry for the late response. If the continue to move by 1 month, it might not be until early next year, but if they speed up and move by 2 months you could be looking at November there about. DISCLAIMER: This is just based off observations of the persons who are getting interview letters, this is not coming from the embassy.

What was your experience at the port of entry for the first time with your immigrant visa?
I had a bit of a wait in line (about an hour), but that was due to only one person working at that section. When it was my turn everything went smoothly and I was out of there in less than 10 minutes. They just verified the address I had on file to make sure that my green card and social security would be mailed to the correct place, and searched my suitcase.

How long did it take for you to get your medical results and what will it say?
Hey dear. I did my medical 10 days before my interview and it was sent over in time for the interview. The system has changed, they no longer give you an envelope to take to the interview. They send it electronically to the embassy.
After all of these (interview, moving to the US), how soon did you get your green card and social security number? How long did it take for you to be able to get a job?
So my social security was a mess, check out my video highlighting what happened with that. Green card took 3 months, some persons reported getting theirs in 2 months, others had issues and had to wait more than 3 months, so it depends. As it relates to getting a job, I was studying, so work was not my focus. I literally started working this week) and I started job hunting 3 weeks ago, I guess you could say that depends too. But once you receive your social security card, which normally should take anywhere from 1-2 weeks after entering the US, you can start working.
@@plummerlove I saw that! Your videos have been very helpful, so thank you! We're just preparing and anticipating what will happen when my partner moves to the US. Does the social security card get processed right away upon entering the US and giving the envelope to border protection? Or would they have to go to the social security office and show a document? If so, what would that be? The stamp on their passport?
I am happy you were able to gain insight from my videos. So a lot has changed regarding the way they process new immigrants. Everything is being done electronically so we didn’t get an envelope to travel with, the information was sent before us electronically. While filling out the Ds260 form for the visa, there is a section that asks if you will require a social security number, once you check yes on that form then your social security card willl be mailed to you at the address you provided 1-2 weeks after you enter the US. Be proactive though, if 2 weeks passed and you did not receive the card, reach out to them and find out if you need to redo an application at the office.

How long do you normally stay in the U.S on your tourist Visa
It depends, when I used to travel from Russia I’d spend 1-1.5 months, last year I spent almost 6 months (days less than the 6 months) went back to Ja and spent 2 months then went back to the US, was there for almost 3 months then I got the interview letter.
I actually have my case for a k1 visa under petition right now. Im currently in Jamaica and my fiance and I live out here together. I am going to visit my aunt for the summer in the u.s on a b1/b2 visa. Do you think that would be an issue?

Their earliest appointment is in 2023😢, unless you have a real emergency then you can get an emergency appointment . Renewals can be down without appointments though.

There’s no official system, or none that I know about. NVC is known to go by the DQ date so some people will inbox me and tell me they have gotten their interview letters and others share in social media groups, that way you know which month they are working on.

How long were you given to leave the island
I was given until June of this year. To my understanding, it depends on the amount of time you have remaining on your police record and medical. Medical normally is valid for 6 months, but you know some people have issues or documents outstanding after they go to their interview and as a result they don’t get the visa until even 3 months after. So in that case, the person would have less than 3 months to leave. Same thing with the police record, you have to leave before it expires.

Mine will expire June of this year (its valid for 1 year) i emailed both embassy and nvc to say my documemts will expire x time and i am yet to receive an IL and they say that it doesnt matter as they wont 'expire'. Confused. Deh yah a wonder if a just automated response i got.
@@jetlee7605 if the police record expires before you get an interview date please to go renew it because they will need the old one as well as the most recent one, they will not accept the old record because it has expired

Hey. They are currently issuing interview dates for persons who were DQ September 2020 in your category. I’d say give and take another 3 months tops, you should be getting your interview letter.

Did they ask about being vaccinated?
Not at the embassy, but at the medical you would have carried your vaccination history and they would have given you whatever vaccines you had outstanding.
What is a w2?
It’s an IRS tax form that an employer would give an employee at the beginning of the tax season. It outline the money that you made and whatever tax that was withheld.
Were you guys married at the time
When I went for the visitor’s visa in Russia? If that’s the question you are asking, no, we weren’t married at that time.

Did my interview April 4, they didn’t get my medical cause I needed more vaccines but the medical was the only thing they needed, I took the other vaccines at the medical place April 6 and got my new immunization thing, I checked the only status and it was updated April 10 but it still says refused, you think I should of got back my passport already?

I travelled right throughout my waiting period. I actually travelled from the US 2 weeks before the interview.

It’s free if you are going to pick up. They only do deliveries in Kingston but most people just go to the office on Ardenne road to pick up.

Does the embassy let you know when they receive the i693 from the civil surgeon (medical) ?
The civil surgeon sent out the medical already however bloodwork vaccine and x-ray has to be done still because they are unable to do in the office on this island
