Hey...I hope somebody already told you, but just in case they didn't or it got deleted...Chernobyl was the non-nuclear explosion of a nuclear power reactor in Ukraine back when it was still part of the USSR in 1986. It was the biggest radiological disaster in history, and there is actually a terrific short series about Chernobyl that was made by HBO a few years ago...you folks should absolutely react to it.✌

Ya know, to make Sentinel's betrayal even more heartbreaking, in the book he has a wholesome moment with Sam. He monologues about how he spent time at a park in alt-mode and witnessed kids and adults from all backgrounds getting along, and came to the conclusion that the solution to world peace between humans is to build more playgrounds.
I never knew this. That's actually super sweet. Pity sentinel had anterior motives.
@@TRlANGLZ TF3 is still my favorite movie in the series, but bay heavily fumbled the ball with it. The novelization got leaked before the films release, so Bay rewrote a lot of things and cut out even more, this being one of them. Barricade was to actually return with a role, but got turned into a rank-and-file goon (Wheeljacks death).

Shockwave. This guy really got done dirty in this film, because he is one of the most important Decepticons in all Transformers lore. He's the head of the Science Division in the Decepticon Empire. And he's usually portrayed as one of the most intellectual, calm, and logical Decepticons under Megatron's command.
I remember the hype that erupted on the internet when they revealed him in the movie back in 2011, sucks that he was kind of a waste but his design was amazing!
He’s also believed to be one of the few Decepticon’s to be more dangerous than Megatron, not just because he’s smarter, but because he’s apparently in some iterations of the character just as physically powerful as well, to the point where Optimus would see him as the biggest threat even if it was between Megatron and Shockwave. So yeah, he was heavily done dirty, but I still enjoyed the parts we got from him, but would’ve loved to see more, like him taking on the entire Autobot cast outside of Optimus, or him and Prime having an epic 1-on-1 fight or something like that. Would’ve been awesome

Wasted? I'd say the guy with his driller bot was probably the most dangerous in this movie. Hell dont forget he took optimus out of the fight for a good 20 mins.
Dark of the Moon was one MASSIVE improvement over Revenge of the Fallen.
Revenge of the Fallen turned out the way it did because it was made during the writers strike in Hollywood. Taking that into account I think they did a pretty good job of salvaging what they could and putting out a decent movie, but yeah it definitely fell short of this one.

Leonard Nimoy, Mr. Spock from the Star Trek series and movies, voiced Sentinel Prime in this movie, and in the animated Transformers movie from 1986, he voiced the villainous Galvatron. RIP, Leonard Nimoy, 1931-2015.
He was Michael Bay's father in law I think.
As much as I love this movie, and as much as I deeply respect Leonard Nimoy, I have an eternal beef with Sentinel Prime for killing Ironhide. Also, how did a falling desk miss Shockwave's head, but a coffee mug hits him?

Nimoy has played two top tier TF villains on film and it's awesome. Galvatron in the 80s and Sentinel Prime in the Bayformers
Keep In Mind, Optimus Prime would have not had any problem with telling Sam the plans, he trusts Sam, And there is a Reason for that Cause Sam wont Lie. Same Said, "You Can tell me, No other ''Human''' Will ever know" Hence why optimus Lied saying there was no plan when there was. Because Optimus Knew that if he told Sam, The Decepticons would find out, Cause no other human would know, But He didnt say No other anything, incinuating someone else non-human would know
There's even simpler explanation. That "watch" on Sam's hand is Decepticon. Which means it has Energon inside of it. Optimus is transformer too. No wonder he could feel Decepticon's Spark on Sam's hand.

I appreciate that comment, haha. It perplexes me how angry and personally slighted many fans get and feel with Bay's movies, especially those of the Transformers fanbase. Bay has always been completely forthright and honest about his work. He's never claimed to be a legendary visionary or a master creative. He just puts together stuff that he thinks people will find cool. He knows it's shallow and surface level, but he's never tried to say it's anything more. People have every right to criticize it and call it all out for what it is, but taking those criticisms as far as most frequently do or getting as angry about it as they frequently do is a bit superfluous to me. It's like getting angry about a Fast & Furious movie being absurd and nonsensical. You knew what movie you were going to watch, and you knew what you were in for. Is it really worth it to get so bent out of shape? I'm not saying the Bay Transformers films- namely, the sequels -are amazing, just that they aren't as horrendous or ignobley created as a lot of people act like they are.
I'm studying filmmaking and at an editing class our teacher showed us some teaser trailers. He put the Transformers (2007) teaser trailer and basically destroyed it. Then saying that the movies were basically pieces of shit and everyone else in the classroom was like: yeah, Michael Bay is a clown.
I was the only one saying from behind the desk that Michael Bay was really good.
I mean, come on. Not many people can orchestrate action sequences like him. The way he moves the camera to convey certain emotions. How every cut flows with a rhythm to the next shot. The intention behind each one.
Surely, that has a lot to do with editing. And he knows how to pick editors. They do their best with the material he shoots.
His movies may not be great because of screenwriting aspects. But visually he is one and only among many other directors. He has a strong vision.
You can tell when a movie was directed by him. Something not many directors have.
He knows how to direct. That's why I consider him an inspiration.
He's not a writer, so give him a well written action movie screenplay and he's going to make a masterpiece.

All due respect to your teacher, but I find it kind of weird that Michael Bay was the example they used. You're really gonna tell your class "Did you know that Michael Bay's movies are NOT GOOD?" As if explaining such a cold take is even remotely educational? Throw a rock and you'll hit 60 Michael Bay criticizers. They could've found something more interesting to dissect. Buuut I'm talking out my butt here I guess, because that is *not* my field of study.
Anyway, totally agree with everything you said. The first Transformers movie has actually overall positive reviews for a reason, and that's because while everything else may be lackluster, the elements Bay has an expert hand in blew things out of the water. Being so fixated on hating his screenwriting that you're unable to appreciate that is... A tad childish, imo.
Absolutely love this take. At the end of the day, it's just a movie about giant alien robots, in a franchise about giant alien robots.
If you come into a movie like this expecting some Stanely Kubrick levels of artistry and deep and complex themes, might wanna pick something else. Not every movie has to be an avant garde masterpiece. Sometimes it's okay to just turn your brain off and watch cool looking robots smack each other around because that shits cool. Its okay for movies to just be on the nose entertainment. I for one love these movies because I'm a very simple person, super easy to entertain. I just wanna see cool stuff. That's all.

You could literally take the top 10 film-making 'teachers' and try and get them to make a movie and it will be a complete pile of shite, totally derivative, without one ounce of creativity. Chernobyl was a nuclear reactor meltdown in Ukraine, previously the USSR. Russians to this day won’t take responsibility, they blame Ukrainian scientists, of course. Great movie reaction.

I'm real late to this, but Megan Fox wasn't in it cause her and Michael Bay had some kind of beef, unfortunately. I definitely preferred her character over Rosie's. The og trilogy is def my favorite. Shia Labeouf was so good in these movies. Definitely prefer him to Cade in the 2nd trilogy. Also, Patrick Dempsey, the guy that is from Greys Anatomy is also a racecar driver, I found that interesting considering the pics of him in the racecar driver suits and stuff in the beginning.

Megan Fox and Michael Bay had a major falling out during the second Transformers movie. They finished out the contractual obligation but neither was very private about their disdain for the other afterward. Apparently, Bay was rather harsh towards her on the set and seemed very personal in targeting her for abuse. There is a rumored story that he kicked her out of a car (not while moving ofc) and forced her to walk back to the city for several miles. There seems to have been some recent apologies and mending of the relationship between the two but, probably not likely they will work together ever again.

The script written for Sam’s new girlfriend is literally Megan fox’s. there was a writers strike at the time and bay barely changed it. Shes got a big position in a car company and they marry in the end. It’s supposed to be mikaela coming to the end of her arc for the trilogy

Megan speaking ill about Transformer director Michael Bay that allegedly got her fired from the franchise. For the unversed, the controversy began when Megan compared Michael to Hitler in an interview. That irked the cast and crew of the Transformer franchise and made Steven Spielberg really agitated.
A bit of important info on this from a tf nerd. The original script had a burned out megatron be genuine in his truce offer, Optimus reluctantly accepts and the cons leave to go rebuild cybertron. The novel and comic adaptations keep this ending but because it was leaked before the release they changed it in the film. I think the original ending would have been much better. Also transporting cybertron/human slaves, exiling the autobots from earth and megatron sitting on the Lincoln memorial are all things taken right from the original cartoon.
That scrapped ending would've been so much better.
Fact: While Sentinel Prime's face was based on Sir Sean Connery, and they took digitals scans of his face to get his facial expressions right, he was voiced by Leonard Nimoy in one of his final roles.
These movies are so awesome and fun! I also LOVE Linkin Park did the main songs in the first 3 movies.

This is my favorite transformers movie. The action is absolutely insane. The new girl is a way better character than Megan Fox imo. Plus you have the moon landing attached just too much fun.

The reason brains and wheelie were undetected on the decepticon ship is that wheelie and brain were former decepticons that joined the autobots and they think they're still decepticons.

The way I see it, the Decepticons have always had the numbers and the tech, but the Bots are always the best fighters. Sentinel changed that.
