Here's a couple of tips if you'd like them:
-In other games shields are useful, but for grounded, a shield is necessary
-Smoothies are capped off for max health but you can drink more to add instant health back
-the red ant armor will make the soldier ants think you're an ant and won't attack you, so you can explore the anthill
-theres a dew collector you can make that will make three dew drops every morning
-The bounce web is actually really useful, you can jump up to your base without using stairs so bugs can't get up
-For lighting, later on you can make a hanging lantern
-if you build half grass floors, you can use them as shelves and put storage on them to save room and add more storage
-Everything except main quest items respawn
-Weapons have a power hit, if you press and hold left click it will build up power
-You can turn off the voice lines in the settings so you don't have to hear Pete every five seconds

I'll add some more:
- If you cut the stem part of the grass, they don't regrow (so if you don't want to completely get rid of a grass blade don't cut the stem, also i believe this does not apply to weed stems)
- Last episode you unlocked the resource surveyor which you can use to search for resources (could have saved a lot of time looking for those thistle needles)
- Dew drops and juice drops do replenish every in game day
- Bandages does not suck, i will fight you (they are passive regen and very cheap to make)
- Press "N" with a full inventory see what happens
- You can throw weapons ("R" to huck) it is especially effective for spears as they do 3x more damage when thrown (but it does lose durability faster)
- There is a repair tool you can build to repair damage structures (can repair the spike strips as well)
- You should definitely have more than one armor set that way you can switch between armors for different uses (eg. use red ant armor when building & acorn armor when fighting / exploring)
- Armor sets (when you have all 3 pieces of same armor) have set bonuses (eg. wearing full red ant armor allows you to blend in with the ants)
- Don't pay too much attention to the stats of weapons and armor as it can be very misleading (basically higher tier stuff is always better even if the stats say otherwise)
- Mutations are very useful but you do have to activate them from the mutation tab, but you can only have a certain number of mutations active at once (you can switch between mutations for different uses just like with armor)
- Clubs, heavy weapons and some tools have a 3 hit combo witch increasing damage (1st hit does 50% damage, 2nd hit 100% damage, 3rd hit 150% damage)
- And lastly BLOCKING IS VERY VERY MUCH ESSENTIAL.
The ants are attracted to the spoil meat dropped next to the door, thats why keep coming to the front door
The Hedge Ascent you discovered is the easiest way to access the hedge lab without building. It is at the other side of the hedge, but there is a pathway over the branches and ziplines that reaches towards it eventually.

the spoiled meat you dropped is what was attracting ants. normally worker ants are passive and in the hill if you have the 3 set of ant armor they will be passive.

I feel like I haven’t seen enough comments about more of the basics of the game so imma try to say some of them here
Armor is not really something to pick and choose each piece individually to wear or not wear as they have set bonuses that get added ontop of the added effects from each individual piece as well, like how each red ant armor gives more hauling strength then the full set makes you free to run around soldiers as you become a “hum-ant” being seen as another ant,
Ontop of that, armors also come in categories being light, medium, and heavy armor. With light having little effect on how much stamina gets used from using tools and weapons while heavy makes each swing take a lot more energy. And then the other side of it is that heavy armor provides additional protection, this is the percentage below the base defense bar, and each tier of armor has the same base Defense so the idea is that you don’t have to worry about what armor is giving the best defense, more about what armor gives the best effect for what you do in the game. And down the road there will be required armor pieces or even sets inorder to explore and continue the story, and a small note is that after upgrading armor to a certain point you are given two routes to take where the armor peice can have an additional effect at the cost of adding less defense per each upgrade from that point but that’s a lot further down the line
weapons have a similar system, if not a little more complicated. There are general damage types being stabbing from spears and bows (and also one sword in the game), chopping from axes, busting from hammers, slashing from swords and daggers, and clubs do generic damage which kinda acts as a good all around way to hurt bugs as little to no bugs have resistance to it, but it’s honestly good to just make and try the weapons to get an idea what you like the best. the fresh and spicy stuff seen is something for later in the game and latter in the upgrades for weapons. Finally for the weapons, each type of weapon in the game have a general sort of damage, stun, and speed. With spears being low damage and no stun almost but really high speed and use in the water. Clubs are generally highest in damage and stun and really low speed, swords and daggers are often a small amount of stun and fast speed with good damage (and daggers often are effect based with the commonly used ones having some form poison damage,) and more to add on to that is that generally the faster the weapon the less stamina it uses
Head mounts and the stuffed bugs are used for gaining effects against a specific bug for a specific amount of time. The head mounts make it so you deal more damage to the bug, while the stuffed bugs provide the chance for more items to be dropped once they are killed. I’m pretty sure you can have both effects active at once but you can’t stack the individual effects with other bugs, basically if you have two head mounts only one head mount can be “rubbed for luck”, same for the stuffed bugs, really this is useful inorder to get alot of a bugs drops for certain recipes, repairs, or blueprints.
Mutations: really important and should not be over looked, they are earned from doing things like discovering a certain amount of landmarks or getting kills with certain weapons like axes, hammers, daggers, swords, and the clubs. Really mutations are just effects that are earned from meeting a requirement, and have range of uses from building/harvesting, to fighting or exploring. Grass master is the main harvesting mutation as it allows you to cut grass faster and as it levels up it gives you stamina back for every hit on grass or weeds. Eventually cutting grass basically takes no stamina
Another really big thing to do is RESEARCH EVERYTHING, even if it’s the meat or food, there are so many things in the game to research that it’s really easy to over look one small thing and completely miss out on recipes. Ontop of that you also get raw science that adds up.
And i think my final tip is going to be about building, all buildings are repaired from the repair tool which is really cheap to make. And a lot of the stuff you can make often has a cozy bar which will be a really good investment. The coziness of a building is used as a way to basically level up your base, within a area if there are enough items that provide good cozy points or enough of them, your base will get a level 1 cozy rating that slightly decreases your thirst and hunger drain as well as starts to unlock really unique blueprints for bases to become even more cozy or just look really detailed. The more items added the higher the levels go, and you can’t just spam build a item with high coziness as after the first one is placed, the rest of that exact blueprint provide significantly less coziness.
Most harvestable items in the game regenerate themselves over time wherever they were found originally (the game refers to them as resource nodes). How quickly depends on the item. Notable exceptions include quartzite/marble deposits and any grass blades for which you remove the stump (dandelions and other weeds will regenerate even if the stump is removed). Also obvious stuff like key items or the contents of existing loot chests. Nodes will also not regenerate if doing so would cause them to overlap something you've built there. Some things don't regenerate in place but are still renewable, such as crow feathers and things like juice drops which fall from their spawn location and come to settle wherever they can.
Most resources and bugs respawn in certain amounts of in-game days, only upgrade materials, candy in containers and other small oddities don't.
And removing the stem of the grass or weeds near a base 'usually' prevents it from growing back. So leave the stems if you want grass or weeds to grow again after some time.
i’ve been playing grounded and all of the candies that i’ve collected have respawned it just takes a lot longer than anything else

Just so you know you need to activate mutaions also you can only have two at once unless you upgrade that, also there are something called muation loudouts also known as the letters you see at the top of your screen when your on the mutaions page in your invatory I usually set a loadout for running and attaking

Chopping the grass/weed stem things down gives you extra plant fiber, but causes it to no longer respawn. So when you chop down the little things left behind after chopping down the grass, that blade of grass can no longer respawn.
improvement it will still respawn but just take longer to grow unless if something is blocking it space to grow
Btw the spiders you saw in the hedge aren’t nocturnal. They are orb weavers. The wolf spider In the oak tree are nocturnal. Also, I would recommend to watch a CZcams tutorial about how to get into the hedge lab as it is very difficult to get to without knowing how to.

Skies, if you put a dandelion pedal in your armor slot, you can use it by clicking shift to use it like a parachute. Love the videos :)
Grounded pets can be tamed by building a special pet house, then using a Grinder to create either mushroom, spoiled meat or plant slurry, depending on if it's an Aphid, Gnat or Weevil. Then you simply feed the pet the correct slurry, and if you have a house to keep it in, you can store it there
we can tamed a gnat!!!!!!!!!
repair tool will let you repair everything like the spikes typically you don't want the spikes as soon as you kill enough of each enemy they will perform raids.
Tips based off your gameplay:
-You have to equip your mutations to use them, it is maxed at 5 equipped but you can unlock all that the game has to offer.
-You can use the smoothie machine to make "Questionable Slop" with three of ANY material which is a good buff but all other smoothies are better.
It's so much fun to watch you explore the game with little to no knowledge of it. I really hope you show more of the story in the future... also the comments from your editor are legit the best.
Hey Skyes I actually found this channel first because I've been addicted to grounded and been loving watching you play for the first time haha just a few things:
1. Fiber bandages are great, it doesn't look like it heals much at first, but it's a heal over time effect so the full amount is a decent amount.
2. Progression is basically you killing insects, and getting better upgrades with research, and then moving to newer locations to kill stronger insects haha so don't be afraid to kill them! Or at least try XD
3. Learning to parry is extremely important in this game (hold right click). Each insect has different attack patterns but once you learn they get easier to parry. At first I recommend a weevil shield to practice, so even if parry timing is off, at least you shield yourself from damage.
4. MUTATIONS NEED TO BE ACTIVATED IN THE TAB (wish they would tell you this)
Other than that I dont want to spoil too much, hope you have a lot of fun playing! So much great stuff to discover in grounded :)
HAHA yay 1st hr after being posted! Love the video, and would like a part 3 if its not to much trouble!!
bunny hopping around dosent tend to help you " dodge" attacks in this game in fact usually melee attacks with most bugs reach Far futher then you think best bet it usually walking as far away from the bugs as you can if your trying to dodge. your best bet is to get into blocking and learning the timing to parry [blocking right before an attack lands]
here’s a couple things,
-make a third video, they’re amazing
-if you block right before a creature attacks you it’ll parry the creature causing them to get very briefly staggered and you won’t take any damage from the attack
-by killing more creatures you will eventually gain more unlocks (such as the tier 2 axe)
-shields have much higher blocking so you’ll take less damage in return and you’ll be able to block much longer without having to worry about your block breaking resulting in yourself getting staggered
-three different types of armor: light armor, medium armor, and heavy armor, the heavier the armor, the more stamina it’ll use on an attack
-you can just use a grass floor to support your stairs instead of scaffolding to save on weed stems
-getting more BURG.L chips will allow you to buy more upgrades and blueprints
-opening your build menu (i think you hit B) will allow you to see the amount of everything you need (it’ll be it’s own thing on the left side, i think it says “chopping list) to finish all of your blueprints
-when you open your inventory, on the bottom right it’ll show you all of your effects, by hovering over them you can get a more detailed explanation of what they do
-by crafting full Red Ant armor then the ants won’t be naturally aggressive towards you

So I'd like to give some advice. The grasses do respawn after a few days. However they won't if they are obstructed. To get level 2 axe you have to kill bombardier beetles and ladybugs. Cheesing them with arrows is a bad idea because they are resistant to arrows but you can do it with the red ant club. Also: BLOCK. You can block with the left click. If you block at the right time you can perfect block. This is very very important. Also craft shield from weevil parts.
The Bandages are super useful they give health regeneration, also the effects of different types of smoothies stack like the max hp and stamina but you basically reset the timer for the bonus when you drink a second of the same smoothie

Another tip make a few drying racks as you can make jerky from the meat and it last alot longer than the cooked stuff and if you but berry chunks on the rack each chunk will turn into berry leather insted of the one leather for three chunks you get with the work bench to make a drying rack you will need to kill a bombardier beetle

You have got to remember to analyse items because that is how you advance in the game
Ok so here are some essential recipes
- their two axe one ladybug head three boiling glands and four silk rope
- bombs
One red ant egg two fungal growth and four dry grass
-and kill lady bug for extremely good lady bug armour (tip use a insect bow crafted from two spider fangs from wolf spiders but IN the oak tree there is a rock that you can stand in and use to cheese wolf spiders all you need is 114 ish arrows and and high durability bow)

yeah make sure to know the different between a resource plant and imposter
lits of tips from a grounded vet
- you have to equip the diffrent mutations from the mutations menu
- if you block befor you get hit you can parry bugs which is the best way to evade damage apart from sheilds
- just explore, your never going to make progress if you dont keep looking around in the not so obvious places
(1) Shields are great for blocking, even the basic Weevil shield. Can't use them with 2 handed weapons like the Ant Club but it's good with the spear.
(2) Early game, you'd be relying on food for healing. Until you cleared out the pond lab, smoothies would be considere resource intensive.
(3) It's quite difficult to get the tier 2 hammer since it needs stink bug parts but maybe if you find the right location, you could cheese them with the bow (just remember to bring a ton of arrows). It's worth it though since it'll allow you to get milk molars to upgrade your health and stamina.
(4) I would suggest putting up at least another support structure for your base since bugs tend to break stuff and you don't want an accident.
to make an Insect Axe, players need 1 ladybug head, 3 bombardier parts, and 4 strands of silk rope and must craft the axe using a workbench. Ladybug head: This material is earnt by killing ladybirds, located throughout the yard but most commonly found near the Oak Tree

Oh and btw to go to the super chip in the hedge you have to go in the hedge then you have to go round to get the chip. There is ziplines to get there.
If you dont want the soldier ants to attack you you need a full set of red ant armour so they recognise you as themselves.
tips:
-Instead of holding E on all ur chests to sort ur stuff just walk up to them and press N it will do the same to all of them
-U should start trying to perfect block right click ur mouse when ur enemy is about to hit u . the perfect block will block all the damage (but not explosions)
+smoothie buff doesn't stack it just resets the one
and u dont need to be full with water or food because it will drain it to the same level all the time so u are just wasting food at this point

A fact about ants: the pheromone they release on death isn't to warn of danger, it's to let the colony know where the body is so they can retrieve and bury it. The reason is because if they leave the corpses out it could attract predators to their scavenging/nest area! So the fact that the ants keep coming given how many of them are dead in the area makes sense ^-^
When youre high enough, its easy to see plants with a purple puff balls on top. Those are Thistle Plants for spikes/thorns.
And the story unfolds by gathering the Super Chips.

As a tip most resources do respawn they have set timers for when they do respawn and there are some bugs that don’t respawn after death
I know in like beginning there was like some sort of granite in the main cave with the power cable going into the ground that you had to knock the nats off that used to give you rocks to repair your tools in that. Then you could also craft a repair tool to repair everything

You can equip the dandelion tuft as a parachute, you just need to press space when in mid-air.
You should keep chests away from walls to prevent ants from stealing.

The sound is a crow that's on top of the laser thingy. It can't interact with the player, but it drops feathers that can be used for crafting better arrows.

Oh also if you get more recipes you can build pillars with clay stone and weed stems and you where right but you have to start at the back of the hedge then you have to climb to get to the rest of the lab.

Afaik - only Marble and Quarzite is finite (equivalent upgrade material can become available later if you uncover their secret hideout) . Some Bugs dont respawn after killing them the first time but in time even the rarest Enemys respawn... Their is no limitation other than ones will and resilience in this miniature World. And some bugs will test your limits without mercy.
Skies, a few more tips for ground is
Don't leave food or spoiled meat on the ground.
Get the insect hammer to get mint mallet.
Grounded is easier to play in multi-player

Btw the best way for storage is putting a half floor on the wall with chests above and below the half floor
There is actually an opening in the wall to get up but you're gonna need to jump/parkour your way up, you might as well build a staircase, you're gonna need to come back eventually.
Some animals/bugs are instantly hostile (spiders, mites, etc), others are neutral until you attack them (ladybugs). Others are friendly (aphid, gnats, weevils). Red Worker ants are neutral, Red Soldier ants are hostile.
The Orb Weavers are not even close to being a nightmare. The Wolf Spider scares the shit out of me. Not to mention other bugs/insects/animals you haven't even met yet. And yes, spiders roam around and can jump. You might want to put a roof over all your base, just saying. Also, more supports in case they break the scaffolding.
If you wanna stay away, there are different kinds of arrows that you can make (when you found the necessary ressource, for example you can make mint arrows with mints, but you need a level 2 hammer to collect them). Yes, arrows do stabbing damage as far as I know. The crow is so annoying, I hate the sounds he makes. He does drop feathers around the place, you can make feather arrows out of them, but I think you need a level 2 axe to collect them.
Most creatures that have an exterior "shell" are tankier, like Ladybugs and larvas. Avoid them if possible until you have better gear. Maybe the ants come to your base because you have threat on your acorn chest piece?
Yes, you don't need scaffolding unless the game tells you you can't build it and needs support. Keep the scaffolding if it says "supporting: number in red".
Taking out the stems of the grass/weed/dandelion makes it so that it doesn't grow back.
Make a dew collector, it will collect water automatically. Crafting crude rope from the inventory and the workbench is a 3:1 ratio, if you make a spinning wheel it is a 1:1 ratio. Same for silk rope made out of web fiber.
You can find needles on plants with a pink/purple flower.
The bounce web is actually useful you can use it to get into your base or to traverse terrain by jumping on it.
You could name your chests and add an icon for a more efficient storage system.
If you have a full red ant armor set the ants should ignore you when you get into the anthill.

You can craft a dew collecter for easy access to dew when you wake up
LOL I was arguing so much with Skyes when he tried to find the thistles. Spikes are on thistles, man XDDDDD You find one near the toad swamp XD
Night time isnt that terrible. Wolf spiders patrol. But they are loud and easy to avoid. If you get chased you can sometimes outrun them if you wear stamina based armor.
You regen stamina sooner if you leave 1% of it. Try not to drain stamina to 0% especially when being chased by spiders.
You can cheese wolf spiders with bug trampolines. Build one next to the water. Fiddle with the arrow trajectory so the arrow aims to the water. Attract aggro of a wolf spider and lure it into the trampoline. It will be launched into the water and die from drowning in seconds.
If you have it unlocked, you should definitely make the spinning wheel because it makes it one to one with the crude rope, one plant fiber to one crude rope
the tadpoles are located in the koi pond next to the tree and you can only hold torches and sheilds with either a single handed weapon or no weapon.

I would love a episode 3! I would give you some tips but sadly I haven’t seen many people play this game, so I have no tips to give.
Skyes the first few spiders aren't that hard because the game doesn't expect you to have OP armer yet and most bugs and bosses are weak to satly or spicy weapons also you can use dandelion flowers as a parachute when jumping off of high places.
That ditch you thought a spider was in it actually a larva den so be careful and you need to kill a bombardier beetle and you need bombs aka bratburst to get in the larva den w/field station oh and to get bratburst you need 1 red ant egg, 4 fungal growth (found in the toxic area) and 4 dry grass chunks and thats pretty much it for
(Larva den and bratburst)
I'm good at playing grounded and I technically beat the story line and so far you are kinda going in the right way to get what you need.

Dandilion tufts are parachutes you equip them and then you can FLOAT down instead of fall down.

Fyi, the “labs” that you keep mentioning aren’t actually the labs needed to continue the main quest. They’re called field stations. The labs are different places, and they’re all unique and we’re used by doctor Tully for different experiments.

Wearing a full set of red ant armor will make them not attack you unless you hit them first, on top of being able to carry more grass/stems.

Tip for you Skyes:
If you throw what you are carrying on your shoulder it deals insane damage
To get the next type of ax you have to kill the ladybug and research its head
Here's a tip: when you get a mutation, you need to equip it by clicking the spacebar in the mutations menu
The ladybugs are strong enough to fight (and kill) stink bugs AND wolf spiders (the ones you call tarantulas XD) at the same time and survive without any scratches, so yeah. Technically the ladybugs are the real kings of the garden XDDD

hey skyes this my tip for you since someone else give you tips about the game i will give you something a pro would know since you are a awesome for make this video i like it.
- you need to follow this instruction to get a free stinkbug part if you go at the tape located near the stink bug at the ant big ant nest (i kinda forgot what it called) you need to go through them and make the spider mad and then lead them to the stink bug. they will fight each other until the death and you need to wear a super strong armour like the acorn or the ladybug armour so you do not get one shot by that eight eye monster. you can use the stink bug smelly fart to kill other bug and even slaughter the ant hill base near your base it is just a though if you wanna have fun .
-try use the bandage instead of the food bcz it is way more efficient to stay alive plus it gave more HEALTH overtime and never use the heal basa bcz it is no use to you and it can heal enemy .i have google something and it is funny to hear that it said this item is GARBAGE poor OBSIDIAN
-TRY MAKE A SHIELD OR ANY WEAPON AND START BLOCKING so you do not need to relied on your health and your luck . train it with an ant for more expert experience at blocking and if you are now a good blocker even the lady bug cannot do damage to you .
-START USING THE RIGHT WEAPON TO FIGHT NOT BASE ON THEIR WEAKNESS AND BASE ON THE EFFICIENT WAY . START READING THE SMALL DETAIL about the WEAPON , MUTATION , ARMOUR and you can know everything if you read that is my mistake
-you can also find secret weapon in a place just like a lab but i do not want to tell you bcz it located in somewhere secret that hard to explain for a reason . i know a place but you need a bomb i think to explode the door and it was located near the milk box with a lot stink bettle .it located in the wall so you need to build up to it.
-i kinda like skyes do his thing and being himself so i am giving him a favor to tell him that he was sitting on a wrong type of plant to find thistle needle so the next time he will not say this rock is food just because it is round . everything will respawn back including the water , thistle , mushroom and also some rare item.
