About Sam Ryder
In 2020, as the world went into lockdown, Sam Ryder uploaded the first of his now infamous covers that quickly caught the attention of some famous fans (think Elton John) with compilations appearing on The Ellen Show & BBC's Newsbeat. As the content kept coming, so did the fans, amassing 10 million on socials by the end of the year. Fast forward to 2021 and Sam was crowned as TikTok's most popular UK artist account for the second year in a row.
In 2021, Sam released his 5-song EP 'The Sun's Gonna Rise' including track 'Whirlwind' that describes Sam’s journey - spending much of his adult life writing and performing in bands, living in Hawaii and owning a vegan coffee shop; before he decided to pursue his dream of becoming a solo artist.
Sam's first show in London sold out in under 10 minutes, nearly as quickly as his first full UK tour. Ready to make his first live foray into Europe and beyond, world domination in 2022 might not be a stretch too far for this incredible talent.

Same here! Very emotional episode. Somebody left a whole bunch of chopped onions around my house.
While it certainly could have a sports connection, interesting that they wove it into the story in a scene that was very much not related to sports.

It was nominated for an Emmy. It was written for and appeared in an episode of the streaming series 'Ted Lasso'.
Sadly he just lost out to Ed Sheeran, ironically with another Ted Lasso song.
As another cancer patient, I also find this song bring me to uncontrollable tears and inspires me to be strong. It grabbed me instantly and hasn't let go for days now. I wish it continues to bring inspiration and joy into the lives of all of us who need to find comfort and strength in times of need. Thank you Sam, Brian, and George.

I used to think, this is all in the past. I love queen and their songs for all my lifetime. I had almost a breakdown, when I heard about Freddies death and couldn't believe, that it's... Over. There should have been so many songs more. Now, many years after, I still remember some of the moments and memories they gave me. But when I heard this song, it was all back in a single moment. Thank you so much Sam for giving back all, that I thought that was gone forever. Go on.
Watched ted lasso and my brain was trying to think of who sung the song and all my brain could think of was it sounds as if Sam Ryder and queen did a song together. Tried Googleing it but that didn’t work cus of course the song has only been out 30 mins but glad I finally did find it.

So - I had a press copy of this episode yesterday morning and I was trying to find this song for the last 28 hours - and couldn’t get anywhere. Shazam had no idea - and I couldn’t share it with anyone etc. I was desperate to find out what the song was and thought the same thing. ESP- since the brilliant FREDDIE reference in the episode. There is something wonderful - about seeing how many of us - did the exact same thing when hearing the song in the episode. It’s crazy.

This song is great and I only found out about it from watching Ted Lasso. The chord progression sounds so close to Queen’s, “Who Wants to Live Forever.” Makes sense since there were many Queen references in the 11th episode of season three. Watch it if you haven’t already - so good.
