Throughs leaves you can actually send a signal this way. There are some cool tutorials on this.

Yeah. You can use leaves as redstone lines. It's pretty cool
When you move a log attached to leaves, it updates the leaves to their distance from the log, an observer can detect that change

Geez, the CODING on that. You can see some frames where the animation flickers with the entity that has been coded in but the timing and presentation was impecable!!
I like the contrast between points where I'm stuck but Jardon gets it unnecessarily fast, and then I see something super quick and just wait forever for him to notice it. That's why I love these videos: Being able to react and see someone else's reaction, but also to try and figure stuff out before he does. It's pretty much an internal battle that Jardon doesn't know about. If he sees this, then step up your game, I'm winning so far.

Leaves have a value set to detect how far away from wood it is, and how many other leaves are adjacent. Moving other logs or leaves, changes the block state.

Elyne van Opzeeland you can use a chain of leaves to send signals, it's especially an easy way to send them vertically. Scicraft youtubers have videos about this.

I don't know how, but he definitely recorded himself pretending that Jardon would be in the spot that he was. Then when the map played, he looks like he is talking to a person standing in the center of the room, who happens to be Jardon this time, which matched up with the written recording. No Idea how to do that though.

He made a command specifically for you by using your minecraft name to trigger it

The campfire can cook 4 items in 30 seconds, the furnace cooks 4 items in 40 seconds
but each item is slower than each item cooked in furnce

@@poocrafter2 i mean that one item smelts in a furnace for 10 seconds where as one item on a campfire takes 30 seconds for one item so unless you are using all 4 slots it is the same or worse

If I had to take a guess, it would be through command blocks to summon a mob into the game with no AI. Input a skin changer on it, then input movement/pathing commands on the mob and have another command block to output chat box information. All of this would be based on a single command block verifying the username of a player upon pressing the start button from the lobby space.
Probably more complex, but I believe that is what was done.

If you place leaves or logs next to a structure of leaves a comparator picks up on it. It’s a REALLY awesome way of sending signals vertically.

I think for the level with the observer hint its talking about leaves and their state of decay. Technically you're not "destroying" the block

the wood thats nearby the leaves gives its one kind of pulse that works a little bit like red stone and if you move the wood the observer noticed that and can give an uitput

Leaves get a tag in their item identity when they are connected to logs. If the logs are removed or broken it takes that tag in the code out which is a block update. It other words observers can detect if a leaf is touching logs or not.

You know what's funny? The one that was campfire and cyan wool was probably the easiest one of the later levels because these types of maps seem to have the requirement of one of those levels.
Leaves give a block update for one game tick if another block is pushed next to it or an adjacent leaf block sends a block update
Using armorstands, spawning armorstands in his position every 2 ticks and giving them a score. Then teleporting a mob to the armorstands in the order of their scores. The mob looks like he's flying and walking. I've done this before pretty cool effect.
Thats how the player was done.
What the creator was talking about with the observer changes and whatnot, he was talking about destruction by players. Leaves decay which isn't a destruction by players and is detected by observers as a change.

An observer can detect when a naturally formed leaf block would start to decay. I.E.observers can see when wood connected to leaves are broken by looking at the leaves.
Mumbo Jumbo has the answer for how leaves affect observer blocks
the torch has particals not animation also leves decaying and/or being put into a log gives changes
I'm fine with him not knowing that leaves are noticed by an observer block, what I''m not okay with though is him not knowing that leaves decay after playing minecraft for many years.
He does know, he thought the leaves were counted bc of decay, then got mad bc it said "No destroy". Also, Skyblock, SkyFactory, etc.
The reason for the leaves was because you can actually place a block on one of the edges of a leave block and it will react with an observer... I think

Once you break the trunk of a tree the leaves slowly start disappearing. You per se are not destroying the block

When they're on trees they can grow observers can see that when they do grow it's how most automatic sugarcane Farms are operated

the way i believe the map creator did what he did at the beginning is like how the wynncraft servers have npcs but theres no mod its really weird i dont understand how it works edit: It uses a but load of command blocks custom models using durability variant items and armor stands

Leaves can decay to set off an observer, hint seems pretty misleading.
Leaves change states when a log is nearby, and observers detect this.
Cool map but a white background would have been better like on the other maps it makes the blocks and other stuff more visible on a lower res/smaller screen 🙏🙏🙏

The key words are “when they’re cooking.” It was not cooking.
This is turning into Jardon's version of the "1000 degree red hot knife vs. things" - it's dumb and boring but for some reason a "fork"load of people keep watching it, so he just keeps making more videos of it.
I find it fun and engaging but ok...

1 - Most of these maps have propositions that can be answered by multiple valid reasons, even if it specifically says there's only one reason.
2 - If he complains about the hint being dumb, it's not the hint that's dumb, it's him that's dumb.
3 - If it ain't broke, don't fix it. People seem to enjoy it, and it's inspiring people to make maps.
The leave is probably because of leaf decay but you are not breaking the block

Probably an mcfunction written with relative teleports, tellraw and schedule. Basically, the next action is scheduled for some number of ticks, it either being movement in a direction or saying something in chat (/tellraw allows you to color messages and so on).
I have seen some command block creations that allow you to record your movement with hidden armor stands and then place another armor stand that teleports through the path of the hidden armor stands. I am more amazed by the animation and skin being applied.
The skin and animation is as easy as replacing the overlay on a stray.
And TheDarren almost got it right... I just don't know how to use schedules or functions
so it all uses repeaters.
