Different process for weatherstrip with the little plastic (or original metal) nibs. And with that type you don't start in the middle but rather find the two holes that are closest together (the rest are more or less equidistant), on my car that is the lower driver's side right next to the bumpstop spotwelded onto the inside of the lip. Not trying to be a know-it-all, just thought I would post this to save the next guy the hours I wasted getting to that crucial bit of info. Cheers and thanks for the great vids!

is it possible to do this if the trunk is still attached to the car and my 57 has clips?

Yes you can do it with it attached to the car. The clips help a lot. Good luck with your project 👍

Did you scuff paint some for adhesion? How bout cleaning the seal to remove any oils & such? I did as you did there, same glue & dang seal wont stay now after bout 4 years.

I have never had a problem with fresh paint that hasn’t been waxed, and a new seal. You may have to start over with a new seal

You didn't show if the trunk still closed properly and flush with the body. It's been my experience that not all weatherstripping is created equal. Some are too dense and don't compress making it very difficult to close trunks and doors.

You are correct on that. I didn’t think at the time I was making the video about showing it installed on the car. I don’t remember the brand I used but it was very soft and the trunk did close flush with the body.
