We Are Here (Freefall Dance Company)

As we break down barriers to participation, we also need to change perceptions of the art form as we do with Freefall Dance Company.
Freefall Dance Company has been creating and performing daring, ground-breaking and award-winning dance since 2002. By combining the dancers’ exceptional talents and individual styles, Freefall has repeatedly challenged and amazed audiences locally, nationally and internationally proving their artistic potential.
Each year, Freefall showcases its work through performance as well as at international dance-for-screen festivals with ground-breaking performance films.
We’re delighted to share with you We Are Here; one of those ground-breaking films. Recently premiered, with a new soundtrack, at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, We Are Here is Freefall’s latest film and the third made in partnership with filmmakers Sima Gonsai and Chris Keenan.
It was choreographed by Lee Fisher and is inspired by the Lunt Fort Coventry and in creative collaboration with former Birmingham Royal Ballet Principal dancers Jenna Roberts and Iain Mackay. Arranged for orchestra by composer Richard Syner and performed by the Royal Ballet Sinfona, conducted by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s Principal Conductor Paul Murphy.
