      As often times, there is fantastic music that does well in Europe but goes almost completely unnoticed in the US.

    One of the best hard rock songs ever written - it has everything, great melody, beat and vocals. The guitar solo is second to none complete with a brilliant scale to take the solo to a peak with delay to finish and the mandatory key change to take us into the final chorus. Since the song is centered around a military theme what better way to finish than incorporating 'Johnny Comes Marching Home' with the song ending with an explosion. Not withstanding the work they did together in Thin Lizzy Gary and Phil could have done so much more so it is tragic that both are deceased now - what a loss to the music world. 'Out in the Fields' will remain my all-time favourite hard rock songs.

    • @christophervigil7729
      @christophervigil7729 Před 3 lety +18

      With all due respect, it is protest-themed regarding the civil unrest in their homeland of Ireland at the time. Very much like what is happening here in the United States today. It was addressing religion and the dividing of the nation.
      Eerily and ironically, the song's protest theme is very relevant here in the U.S. of all countries, today in 2020.
      GARY and PHIL would be both appalled and saddened by what is happening here in the United States of America. ☹

    Two incredibly talented guys! Personally this is my all time favorite song. It's just made to perfection, the solo, the scales, the bass, superior... Gary and Phil gave everything to make the rock music better and they did, that's why they will always be remembered! Rest in peace, gentlemen!
