I had horrible social anxiety and I had no idea it was anxiety until I realised it was taking over my life. I am no longer suffering from it, and I believe the main reason is that I faked it until I made it, and I pushed myself out of my comfort zone no matter how scary it was. I remember crying in the gym changing room because I was too scared to work out around others, but I pushed myself. I also remember forcing myself to attend my university lectures, make new friends, make phone calls (despite my sweaty palms and extensive planning before the call) etc.

Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Thank you for sharing this point!

Earl Espiridion, Do not delay taking the right medication. To feel relaxed reduce negative thoughts with a simple practice. Your breath is directly related to your mind [brain] causing negative thoughts-anxiety. For a better life sit on a chair, back straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for around 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. Slowly the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Day or night, when taking a walk, when reading, on the phone, before sleep etc sit or lie down and observe your breath. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a good life. Avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes Shyaaam Sir. -Counsellor.

I’ve had anxiety eversince I can remember. I always thought it was shyness because I’m Asian and I usually get shy around people, until it wasn’t. I’ve went through a lot of traumatic events and abuse. Since mental health is taboo in the Philippines, it was never addressed. Until I got here in the US, I was blessed to have a very loving and supportive husband who stood by me through my darkest days. Last year my depression and anxiety got so bad that I was suicidal almost everyday. I started taking medication, it helped but it wasn’t the best for me. Then early this year I started therapy and my life changed tremendously, I started to feel normal again, happy again, I can feel sunshine again. I also started walking every morning, like really early where it’s still dark and so peaceful that it helps me with calming my brain and emotions. I would never want anyone to experience anxiety or depression, it’s like being alive but feeling dead inside…
My advice to anyone suffering is you can get help, you don’t have to suffer alone. Therapy is amazing and getting sun every single morning works wonders🥰♥️

I didn’t start having real, actual anxiety until a couple years ago, when I entered my 30’s. It gets so bad sometimes that I can’t even sit down or lay in bed. Even the thought of going to bed would give me anxiety. I’ve had a couple panic attacks where I legitimately felt like I was dying. Anyways- I saw a video here on CZcams where a doctor suggested taking magnesium. That has actually helped, along with working out. I haven’t been doing it as much lately- though I am trying to find the time to work out more. It helps for me to think I won’t feel like this forever. I know what you mean. I've been through almost every anxiety disorder except for ptsd because I've never been in a very traumatic situation thankfully. But it started with ocd when I was 12, then 13 to 14 my social anxiety and agoraphobia started and became debilitating with constant panic attacks for many years. I constantly feel like everything's crashing down on me and that everything is a big disaster, I'm constantly worried that I'll do nothing with my life and I'll be a bum and a disappointment to my family ( I can't tell if this is ocd or gad but I'm leaning towards the latter). And to top it all of i also developed severe depression and binge eating disorder because of my anxiety. I'm 21 now and I'm so much better than I used to be, my anxiety isn't debilitating anymore and I can function though I now have to pick up the pieces of my life and I'm so so lost. I feel like I've been having a bad nightmare all these years and now I've woken up but I have to make sense of reality. People indeed don't get how devastating anxiety disorders are. To me if they are severe anxiety disorders are very much a disability: you can't sleep, can't concentrate, your entire body hurts from constantly being tense, you can't go out and talk to people, you are constantly fatigued... it's just awful really

To all of you who are also suffering from constant anxiety; be kind to yourself. It doesn't magically make the anxiety disappear, but it makes it slightly better. At least for me it does.
If you on the other hand keep blaming yourself and seeking perfection in everything you do, it makes it harder to live your daily life.
Most importantly, appreciate what you have and the things you've accomplished - even if they seem like tiny things. Studies have shown that people who learn to appreciate the things and people around them suffer less from demotivation, depression and anxiety; something I'm personally still working on, but it seems to be quite effective. 😄

Yes, nausea can come with your anxiety disorder. For me, nausea has always been the biggest part of my anxiety disorder and ultimately increases my level of anxiety since I am afraid of vomiting. Ultimately, I don't think you can target the nausea alone. You have to treat the anxiety disorder in order for the nausea to go away. Speak with your therapist, a psychiatrist to give you medication, or deal with the anxiety yourself. I always carry a water bottle with me to drink from when I have anxiety induced nausea. Whenever I'm at a point where I am about to get up and just leave, I grab the water bottle and take a small sip of water. Of course, this doesn't get rid of the anxiety or of the nausea, but for me it's become more of a comfort thing. You can try to find something that makes you comfortable and distracts you when you're feeling nauseous.

I didn't realize this was abnormal until I had a major traumatic event and took lorazepam to help me through it. Immediately I felt more calm than I have had before and that inner monologue was silent. Sure, I could think to myself if I wanted to, but it was on-command, not on constantly. I think a lot of anxiety disorders can be tied to lack of community support. People are so focused on the ‘self’ which I understand, but humans need each other. I myself feel my worst when I’m alone and don’t have anyone to confide in. I can’t afford therapy as a student and it’s difficult to have to always rely on myself to overcome bad days.

I believe that we love and show love to others and in return get love which in turn causes love in ourselves. We live in an era, especially in westrtn culture where we are supposed to be self-reliant. But honestly, this is really bad for our mental health and emotional well-being. Close-knit families where generations of family members live together have far better mental health than those of us in the west.

Patience, showing up and being kind to ourselves when we fall is like retraining the amygdala in the present moment. Being around people gives me anxiety. I was ostracized badly in middle school and high school due to my sexuality which made me become super self-conscious because I thought if I was consciously aware of my behavior at all times, I could control it and act in a way that would reduce people noticing me. But the exact opposite effect resulted and I became more of a target of suspicion and mistrust due to my akward behavior. I am 31 now and nothing has changed. It's really hard when I am working with clients or anyone really and they can tell something is off with me so the typical responses I get from people are angry/malevolent facial expressions, looks of pitied amusement, people mirror me, or people avoid me. It's very difficult to deal with everyday.

It vanished when I let myself think I didn't have to go to school that day (I ended up staying at home). My mom (and what I believe everyone else) thought I was just being lazy. The scary part is, the further I get from the experience, the more I start to believe them. It's hard for me even now to clearly explain what happened that time. I think that was about 2 years ago. I felt the same way, I couldn’t function like a normal human for about two years of my life. I felt so foggy, like an empty shell without any emotion. Ask yourself this question when you feel overwhelmed, “will worrying about this topic solve the problem or help me?” Feel confident in your answer, don’t worry about if the answer is incorrect because you’ll just go back to being anxious about it again. I didn’t have any confidence in myself and my ability to solve my problems because of my anxiety and I even worried about my solution being wrong, but it’s better to try and fail than not try at all. Your anxiety won’t ever completely go away, so as long as you accept it to an certain extent, it will be a lot better. I don’t know if you can relate to any of this at all, but just keep working at it. I know it feels hopeless to keep trying to fix your anxiety, but keep working. It will get better.

She mentions them as important first steps, but not as a silver bullet. For some people, that alone can be enough. Some of the symptoms of poor sleep include increased anxiety. People without anxiety disorders can still struggle to deal with normal anxiety because of other factors like stress, lack of sleep, and overall poor health.
But that's not to say that those three things are definitely a cure. Heck, those three things can often suffer because someone has anxiety that interferes with them in a terrible feedback loop. She goes on to explain several other things that can be done to address more serious anxiety disorders. Don't sell her suggestions short; she certainly didn't imply that a healthy lifestyle will cure all anxiety.

Therapy and medication has been helping these past months, but it seems like it's acting up again idk. Hope everyone out there will get the help they need to fight against anxiety and other mental disorders

I have an anxiety disorder and it’s not fun. Everyday i just worry about everything, even things that have a very high chance of not happening. But, even though my social anxiety have become even worse than before, i still try to fight it as much as possible, to not let it get to me.

Finding this video is so helpful and the comments 😮 I wouldn't wish social anxiety on anyone but it's good to know I'm not alone. Recently I have felt like everyone has been able to ease back into life after covid and Inwardly I feel like I'm drowning and suffering with anxiety symptoms which are impacting my entire life. Thank you for this video, I urge anyone that is struggling to reach out for support

I know exactly how frustrating that is, but after 7 years of comes and goes i think i'm starting to ge the hang of it... It's been a hard, long-term working process but it's definitely worth it. I've been on a combination of medication and therapy for years.

@@misilva.bordados Oh sweetheart, i applaud you! Fantastic work. I hope it sticks. You're gonna be ok. If you continue to struggle with standard therapy at any point down the line please look into ISTDP. It works quite a bit quicker (weeks not years) and results are permanent. I wrote a bit of a scathing review of this video in a comment, where I gave more details on ISTDP therapy, and what credentials a therapist should have , if you become interested. In the meantime keep up the good work! 🤩

I've had an anxiety disorder and I did 2 and a half years of therapy which really helped me deal with lots of different traumas and situations from the past that I was not aware of or that I was avoiding. I learned that there's a pattern for every one of us, everyone has their own triggers and intrusive thoughts which can be controlled in many ways, depending on your preferences. I've tried many, but I chose 2 main solutions with my therapist: during a panic or an anxiety attack, I had to visualize a specific image in my mind that would give me peace and positive emotions; another really helpful way of dealing with my anxiety was a specific exercise she would made me do during our sessions, in which I would almost be "hypnotised" and she would help me go find the source of all that discomfort I was feeling that led to my anxiety. Now I'm much better, I know my body and the physical signals so it's much better to control my anxiety. I also gained lots of confidence and self love, it has been a difficult yet beautiful journey that will always continue during my life, I'll always have to take care of my mind and my body in order to feel better.

I've had social phobia my entire life and have long been ' social distancing' myself from others before social distancing was a catchphrase of this pandemic period. Knowing others suffer from this helps me out. I don't feel so alone and 'weird'. At my current age of 63, the decades of living with social phobia have worn on me. I'm tired but keep going forward.
I read that an organization called MAPS: Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelics Studies has made some huge breakthroughs in the treatment of PTSD and other mental health issues. I hope someday we can all live a life without fear of our own species.

I live in a country where mental health is nonexistent. I’ve suffered from anxiety symptoms my whole life, I’ve never been diagnosed, but it’s affecting my life so much that it’s so hard not to notice it at this point.
Coupled with the fact that I have stress induced psoriasis, all I can do is cope with it.. because mentioning it would only get me more stress than help.

anxiety has been a part of me for as long as I can remember...since I was 5 I was always shy and my mother and others thought maybe eventually I'll "grow out of it" but it only got worse through out the years and for some odd reason i am petrified to make a squeak to my mother.. I'm scared she'll just tell me to shake it of or yell at me for being weak... it has gotten so bad that something as simple as going to the grocery store or even thinking about getting through my day is a BIG struggle which why I despise school presentations, socializing, answering questions all of those just scare me.

after having cbt, i changed so much for the better. i was able to push myself to do things that a year previously i would’ve never dreamed of. it really helped to understand my anxiety, learn that it’s normal to feel that way, and educate myself on how my brain works, what i can do to push myself (not to my limits, but enough to help make a difference) and slowly but surely, i’ve become more confident in some situations. obviously my anxiety will never totally disappear, but i’ve learned what i can do to work around my anxiety, not to bash it

If you tell yourself something won't go away then you're definitely right lol. But you're wrong bc anxiety in fact can go away. Do more research boss lady and continue to rehabilitate WITHOUT telling yourself "obviously your anxiety will never totally disappear" bc it can.

Even as an adult today I have to fight all the misconceptions I was told and remind myself my experiences are real and they matter.
