the seattle mariners pitching machine will NOT stop
😈
If only we could get a better performance out of our lineup
Just waiting for the hitting machine to finally turn on 💀
@@fortynights1513That's what happens when you have a pitchers' park
@@fortynights1513 To be fair last year everything that could go wrong the lineup seemed to go wrong (Wong, France and Geno), with JP being the exception. Hopefully players will bounce back a bit/perform
Chris Sale being the 4 guy in the starting rotation is going to be huge. Takes a lot of the pressure off of him to be "the man" and he can just be a meaningful contributor to an already juiced rotation that saw 16 different starters last year.
We just need him to start like 20 games, that's it. One of the only flaws with the 2023 Braves is that there just wasn't a fifth starter. When Jared Schuster is starting 11 games despite having a near 6 ERA, you need another body. The idea of that offense being paired with a rotation of
1. Max Fried
2. Spencer Strider
3. Charlie Morton
4. Chris Sale
5. Bryce Elder
I mean good Lord, the ceiling might be higher than the Dodgers.
He’ll maybe pitch 100 innings. Even that would be a Miri or. He’s had like 5 arm surgeries and hasn’t pitched 200 total innings in the last 4 years..
Also, the Braves believe in him. The Braves are the smartest team in the league. If I was to blind trust any team in the league it's them.
@@oljimeagle6779 I'm fine with 100 innings if he can punch out Harper and Schwarber in the playoffs.
If he’s healthy he’s a beast he’ll be such a steal
Ryan Walker mentioned! I just rewatched all his appearances while procrastinating my midterms. He's a freak.
Thanks Bailey I’ve been waiting to have an opinion
Louie Varland mentioned‼️
I love Bryan Woo's intangibles. He has such a great attitude. I've never seen a guy so excited every time he takes the mound.
i love his name 😃 WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I honestly can’t decide who I’m more excited for between him and Miller. Both have such great upside
@@RileyMerlinoM’s fan and both of them looked pretty solid last year. Not sure if we’ve seen all they can do.
@@seanstuchberyshe gonna fxxk with the wooooooo
@@RileyMerlinoMiller’s fastball is from another planet, but we’re pretty spoiled talking about whether our 4 or 5 starters have more potential 😂
Walker's pitch movement is crazy.
as a giants fan i'm so happy to see ryan walker get some love here! he made some really good hitters look dreadful last year. plus he's in a bullpen with a genuine submariner and a guy who throws 100+ mph with a filthy slider. there are lots of questions surrounding the giants right now, but the relief core isn't one of them.
he is pitching ninjas wet dream
As a Giants fan, there’s not many “questions” surrounding our team. We just suck
booooo u@@kevinandrewsphoto
Bryan Woo on the list? Bailey knows ball.
i’m not going to be one of those people saying “like if ur early!!” but i DO appreciate how we all come scurrying of the woodworks 5 minutes after bailey posts like cats getting their breakfast in the morning or perhaps a pack of rats
Im always hungry for some of that sweet boy
on the flip side - who can I watch once the season starts to get my best weekly MLB action recap?
Bailey is the best but I'm looking for something to help me follow along the season from overseas.
cheers!
@@manuroitmanI would check out fuzzy giraffeneckmarc or Jomboy!
@@manuroitman I like watching Pitching Ninja for his recaps (although you don't get much hitter content)
@@manuroitman"talkin baseball" with jomboy is longform like 1-2 hour episodes 3 times a week during the season if that's what your looking for. Anything with jomboy is good. "baseball today" with Chris Rose and Trevor plouffe is daily and closer to 20-30 minutes and also very good (on another jomboy channel). And pitching ninja does daily vids covering all the best pitching performances of the previous day. Hope and of this helps!
Ryan Walker also has a crazy crossover step which helps his deception, hitters see the ball later and have less time
I'm also high on Louie Varland. He said he's been working on a two-seamer and a slider with more depth to give him a more complete arsenal.
i think i saw three different Giants pitchers in the replies to ur tweet announcing this, and none of them were Ryan Walker, BUT as a Giants fan, i think you nailed it. dude came outta nowhere basically and tore it up
Oh wow! I played with Ryan Walker in high school and it's surreal to see him on a Foolish video! Ryan had to slog through the minors, but he was always good at every stop he made. He's always had a great feel for his breaking stuff, and he's really fine tuned his sweeper to compliment his sinker the way you described. Him breaking out as a primary opener and key contributor in that bullpen was so awesome to see.
woo has got such a sweet windup and delivery
I got to see Woo pitch, and the consistent mid to high velo impressed me, if nothing else. His command does need work, but Seattle has a history of getting brilliant command from their arms (just look at Logan Gilbert, and of course, George Kirby). He has a very high ceiling in my book, and could possibly throw upward of 200 innings as soon as 2025 if things go well.
I miss sale already. I thought the discourse around him the past couple years was unfair. A couple blow up starts hurt his numbers (despite them still being solid), but for the most part, he was good when he pitched. His strikeout stuff protected the sox infield defense from itself. Only second to the netting behind first base protectimg fans from raphy's arm
Yes! Can't wait for the foolish 50 as well!
HOLY CANOLI NEW FOOLISH BAILEY VID DROPPED
Bryan WOO!
Love Woo too! Drafted him 23’ preseason in my fantasy minor league draft. He’s a stud
Main channel upload!!!
I definitely like your optimism on Bryan Woo as well. I think he’s a lock to have a breakout year this year for Seattle
Definitely one of the best baseball youtube pages
it’s not baseball season until Foolish starts up with his lists 🙌🏼
I’m really excited for Yuki Matsui. Not only did he come out speaking Spanish and English in his first press conference, but when he was on the mound in his first spring training game he struck out the side while making the hitters look silly. Let’s go Yuki!
It’s that time of year!
Ryan Walker is a beast but no one knows about relievers so be goes under the radar, glad he got a shout out 😊
Loved the picks you know sale will be a stud for the Braves and I’ve now learned a lot more about guys like Varland and woo
The Bryan Woo hype is real, Mariners have my favorite staff in the league
sick intro transition! you're the best
My 5:
Brady Singer (KC)
Chris Sale (ATL)
Shota Imanaga (CHC)
Kyle Harrison (SF)
Reliever: Abner Uribe (MIL)
Some pretty safe picks but then some out there picks as well, cool vid!
Imanaga's fastball looks like prime Sean Doolittle's if Doolittle had other pitches to throw off of it.
LETS GOOO I hope Christopher Sanchez is mentioned
I like Cole Irvin. I don't think he's going to be the best pitcher in the league, but he seems really nice :)
Shota predicted BANG
Absolutely nailed King Shota. Cubs fans everywhere thank you
5 pitchers i like:
1. George Kirby
2. Logan Gilbert
3. Bryce Miller
4. Bryan Woo
5. Emerson Hancock
And 1 I love:
La Piedra
Love the Ryan Walker pick!
Didn’t expect to see Louie Varland here, love it. 🎉
mariners mentioned 🔱
Could definitely see Chris Sale cooking with the Braves ngl
Ryan walker was a great breakout piece for the giants bullpen last year, ik im a biased giants fan but our bullpen could lead the league in Funk+ with the rogers twins and walker
nice video, keep up the good work kid and you might just make it 👍
As a Twins fan I love to see the Louie Varland mention. He's got good stuff and I just love to see a hometown kid succeed.
About time for Foolish 50
ryan walker heads we are so back
Ryan Walker mentioned!
I’m all over Sale and Imanaga this season. Also on Gavin Williams, Joe Ryan and Chris Sánchez at their ADPs.
YES! It's that time of Year Again!
Baseball Season is upon us, and that means more Picks from Foolish Bailey!
I can't be the only person who LOL'd at Shota Imanaga's Picture.
To be honest, I'd argue he, along with the rest of the Cubs, could be an intriguing Team to Watch. My Question is how do the Cubs handle the transition from David Ross to Craig Counsel?
As much as I felt like Last Year's Collapse wasn't entirely Ross' Fault, someone had to take the fall, and unfortunately, it had to be him. Now we will find out if that was true or not.
You have no idea how ENTHRALLED I am to see Chris Sale on this list.
People seem to be completely negligent to the fact that Sale is basically on the BEST Team on a 'Prove-It Deal': YOUR ATLANTA BRAVES!
Heck, he's NOT supposed to be our #1 Starter: He's our #3 Guy, so a LOT of pressure is off of him, and he can focus on helping the youth improve while mastering his own craft.
My Expectations remain reserved though. I'm going for 10-15 Wins for Sale with an ERA of about.... Let's say around 3.50.
The Twins honestly look poised to build on Last Year's Successful AL Central Division Championship, and I think Varland can add to that.
I just don't know if he is a starter just yet. I'd need to see another full season from him before we fully know what he's best at.
If I were to make any projections, I'd say a Slow April before he settles in would be best-case scenario.
Otherwise, a Demotion to the Minors or a Bullpen Role looks likely for him currently.
I could see Bryan Woo becoming that illustrious 'Innings-Eater' kind of Pitcher for Seattle.
Someone who, while not their #1 Option, could be their 'Go-To' option if they're either short on staff, or need someone to buy some resting time for the bullpen.
The Mariners have a lot of potential yet again, but I question how much of it they will actually utilize.
Not sure I believe in the Woo like you do, but I do believe he has a spot somewhere on the M's.
Ryan Walker, on the other hand, looks like someone who could be solid 7th or 8th Inning Pitcher, given his unconventional pitch options.
Most Hitters these days expect a Fastball and Breaking Pitch from Pitchers, but Walker has pitches that make it impossible to lock onto what's what.
And I believe he could not only elevate himself to a major Bullpen Role, but potenitally, give the Giants a Go-To Bullpen Piece that they bring in whenever possible.
I just think San Francisco needs more than just Walker right now. A Great Piece, Sure, but the Giants need more than that.
Great Picks, Foolish Bailey!
Looking forward to the 5 Hitters that You Like Next!
I hope Chris can find it and stay healthy and close his career a little better than it’s been lately. He a good dude Boston got nothing but love for the dude. We just wanted him to be healthy and pitch
Main channel getting love as it should
Love the Varland shout out. As a Twins fan, we'll need him to shore up the back of the rotation, especially with Gray departing
Walker is a fantastic pick. Just watching him you can see how insane the movement is
I think the issue with Walker is he’s competing with Rogers for the setup role who has been very solid in that role for the past three years, and now he might have to compete with Hicks for the third reliever role
Watching this video in May:
1. OH
2. OOOOOH
3. .....oh
WOOO!
2:05 You touched on it but an important thing to note is that his flyball rate was the WORST of any SP in NPB and his home run rate was the SECOND WORST of any SP in NPB last year. NPB is currently in one of the most dead of deadball eras the league has ever seen (an average NPB SP had an ERA of 3.3 last year). Coming to a very hitter friendly ballpark with a far less dead ball and a league that emphasizes launch angle and power much more than NPB does philosophically is at the very least *pretty* concerning. At the same time Darvish kind of made the same style of game work with the Cubs so you never know. His contract is so team friendly he really just has to not be completely terrible for it to be worth it.
as a giants fan I LOVE Ryan Walker. So nasty and versatile
Babe wake up it’s a Bryan Woo mention
This was a great list and will probably be better than your showing last year. A pitcher I like is Walter Johnson! You should bless us with a video of the goat. Thank you!
>"Joined 7 years ago"
Damn youve been really committed to the bit lol
hell yeah, main channel upload
For the Mariners I'm personally betting on a breakout from Bryce Miller, who added a splitter this offseason that's looking like a game changing pitch
Bailey I can't wait until Hurston Waldrep gets called up and you get to check out his splitter for the first time. Its one of the nastiest single pitches I've seen from a dude.
We need that foolish 50 ASAP
How long until we begin to praise the Mariners Pitching Lab the same way we do the Catching Labs of certain other teams?
Ryan Walker is such a beast
Baseball is backkkkk
SALE!!!
I propose to do a vote at the end of the year for "Best Bailey Entrance to Start a Video 2024" and that it becomes a yearly thing
Woo Woo! I'm on the Brian Train
>talking about the twins
>Player with bad luck surely can turn it around
Bless you Mr. Foolish
WOOOOOO!!!!!!
Babe wake up, new Foolish Bailey drop
I appreciate the louie V mention that’s the guy
there it is 9:15 thanks for the reminder of "Padres strike zone"
finally a main channel upload
Bailey you’re my inspiration
*face bruised by the previous rakes I’ve stepped on* THIS is the year Ranger Suarez is a Cy Young candidate
4/5 looking great in May (Walker is good just not a true setup man for the Giants)
Oh we are so back
I absolutely LOVE the Louie Varland pick
louie varland respect you love to see it
Walker's spin is great! Does the action reduce injury in the long-run?
I can't believe Louie Varland got a shout out. I was hoping Joe Ryan or Bailey Ober would, but this is exciting. The Twins should easily win the central this year
We are so back
WOO
The Ryan Walker pick is pretty on the money IMO
The Giants are just plain good at getting production from their bullpen. And theyve needed it with how banged up their rotation was last year.
THE WOO TRAIN 🚂 WOO WOO
Happy to hear SOMEONE likes the Twins' pitching past Pablo Lopez
Twins pitching lab slept on
For real. As a Dodger fan, I was surprised to see Brock Stewart still in the league last year with you guys. I was even more surprised when he started throwing upper-90s gas ⛽
I like 👍 your insistence on using a thumbs up every time you say “like” 👍 in these main channel videos
I love main channel uploads
3:01 lol he ate the glove
LOVE Louie Varland!
Bryan Woo mentioned!!!
Can't wait to see what Logan Gilbert will give to the Mariners in 2024; he's my favorite pitcher.
Another Bailey Banger. Feel free to use that one.
WERE SO BACK
