  • Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum is located in Cumbria U.K and is home to the Vintage Excavator trust. The Trust is a charity that acquires and restores classic earthmoving equipment which mainly consists of cable operated machinery rather than more modern hydraulic equipment.
    This is part one of an extensive walk around the quarry during the May 2019 working weekend.

      skadill Lots more from this place. This is maybe only a quarter or third of the machinery that’s laying around at it.

    Just think of how excited the operators were when this equipment showed up on the job when it was new.

      There is a old drag line at bear run coal mine in digger Indiana you can see it on Google maps

      @@andrewmaas6620 they operate two functional draglines there too I think. Atleast I know a BE2570w that I don't know the name of. Peabody is shutting down their Somerville mine which Big Kate works at. We're hoping they retire her to the mining museum

    Lots or old iron there, some companies would love one of those sitting in front of their businesses

    Excellent video, thanks for sharing. It brought back some happy memories for me. The NCH at about 4.02 & 5.55 belonged to my Father and I drove it some weekends and school holidays in the early 70’s. No H & S back then😀
    Hope she gets restored one day, would love to see her run again.

    In the US now but used to work for Tarmac in the UK. I am pretty sure the 110RB at the start of the vid was one of two that Castle Cement had in the quarry we shared with them at Bankfield, Clitheroe, Lancs. Think they moved them out in 2003 or 2004

      No music, but a bit of back ground on what we are looking at. Where it is, what went on there, what they were mining for, why the mining ended, how many people were employed. Just some speaking telling us all about it.

    • @CowpoteAdventures
      @CowpoteAdventures Před 5 lety

      My point is the music kind of makes the video that's all I'm saying I'm not complaining there's lots of music on CZcams you can use the background if you walk around it just kind of adds to what you're doing it's a very cool video I'm not complaining you enhance the video by bringing in good music so I'm saying to you have a good work
