    A new car has no potential because it is complete, whereas an old abandoned wreck car has so much potential and that`s why they are so interesting. Does anyone agree??

    That heavy machinery probably is not abandoned but parked there for long term storage. They have reached "end of life" but if someone wanted they could probably get them for next to nothing, and put time into a renovation. This type of machinery often only require a basic overhaul and they will be good as new. But for a business it is not economical, it will take to much time and money compared to getting new equipment. This is why most entusiasts use there own time to renovate old classic cars otherwise it would not make sense if you think about the economics.

    • @spencersand2754
      @spencersand2754 Před 4 lety

      You’re exactly right when stuff gets to the end of their life it’s just gets parked but miners and construction companies don’t really take care of their equipment so stuff how that stuff kind of how it gets parked and when it breaks down they just buy a new piece of equipment

    I searched in the internet, in USA a full restaurated comet costs up to 30.000$ - really much cause in the USA the cars are not so rare like in europe, and the comet is on first look in a good shape!

    my dad had that exact same car in the 1960's. not sure how you all love your cars but dad named his car. "The Puddle Jumper" wow if no one wants that Komatsu track backhoe then claim it. you could sell it if the engine can be fixed for 434,000 krone's. the industrial tractor would sell for about the same. only saying that. for it looks like some one has been scraping before you got there. once again thank your for another wonderful journey. :)

    Great video , I'm a retired unionized industrial construction worker , for decades I operated heavy equipment , dozers , back hoes , link belts , skytraks etc , I really loved my job & miss working with the men & equipment , just thinking of the tens of thousands of hours an operating engineer Sat at the controls , working the machines to full capacity , knowing heavy equipment like I do I'm left wondering how many hundreds of times the machines went down due to broken hydraulic lines , and back in operation within the hour , now seeing the machines from my era just sitting idle , not working , no operator in the cab ,rusting away , really makes me feel my age & miss the job sites that much more , seems ignorant for the owner to not scrap the machines being there's at least $15,000 US scrap weight sitting there rusting away , be careful what you wish for young guys , retirement is not pleasant for men used to building things .

    a lot of that machinery isn't that old (the Komatsu pc450-lc excavator at 3.10 is late 90s or perhaps even newer) and looks still usable, these are worth something between 30000 and 50000 euros, a lot of money to be wasted away like that. Probably left overs of a bankruptcy that got stuck in never ending legal matters.

    There seems to be lot`s of expensive heavy machinery lying around. If you can, you should try to get these machines running. The loaders, Scissor lift and excavators are worth lots of money. Those machines look like they are in very god shape from the outside.
    We should clean up these heavy equipment graveyards and stop dumping precious tools and vehicles,(lot`s of energy could be saved by resorting them instead of making new machines. A bit of engine and hydraulic work and these giants can get going again.

      I will help you out. You find these places by searching for urban exploring and join forums where people talk about these things. Then you will be able to get help from others if you want to visit places. Think of it as a secret community. This is where you will find the information you need etc. Depends on where you are located but in general terms there are urban explorers in most countrys. You just have to find where they are hanging out on the Internet and get involved. Hope that helps.

      Heather Wells they need to be reused . Recycling will create a much larger foot print than to just use them . It would take ten times the energy to dismantle transport, cut down further , shread , transport , handle materials , melt recyclables , handle , mold , waste 30% due to slag, ship to a factory, have them build something ( new which is ten times junkier than those perfectly made machines from our past that will last far far into the future.
