  • The cornerstone of the most dominant offensive line of the early 2000s, Walter Jones paved the way for the elite Seahawks Offense for more than a decade. Perhaps the most athletic Tackle to ever play the game, he devastated opponents with his aggressive downfield blocking and consistent, technically sound pass protection. His most illustrious season was 2005 when he blocked for MVP RB Shaun Alexander and lead Seattle to Super Bowl 40.

    One of the best NFL players of all time IMHO. 180 games, on 5500 pass attempts he allowed.......23 sacks.....unreal.

    He was simply amazing not only did he only give up 23 sacks his entire career he was only penalized 9 times as well which shows how dominant of a player Walter Jones was

    There have been a handful of top-tier LT's in NFL history! Munoz, Slater, Ogden, Shell, etc. Walter Jones to me has no weaknesses! And his footwork is absolutely sick! 9 penalties his whole career! What a player!

    Man, this guy had the most fluid and natural footwork of any LT I've ever seen. His power just complemented everything else. Best left tackle I ever saw play.

    Walter Jones is one of the greatest offensive tackles of all time history of the franchise. He also retired as a Seattle Seahawks!!

      I’ve been a Seahawks fan since day one in ‘76, I love Walter but I’d have to put Jackie Slater at number one. He did this for 20 seasons. TWENTY years.

    He had the biggest head I ever saw in the NFL. Just like boxing gloves looking like mittens on boxer George Foreman's monstrous hands, Walter Jones helmet looked like a swimmers cap. The both had massive bones. Cheers

    Wow, thanks for this! For being arguably the best left tackle (blindside) of all time, very little tributes for Walter. I get it....offensive tackle highlights are boring when they do their job unless they pancake someone. I’d like to see a vid on what made home so dominant. Yes speed strength is obvious but almost a step by step vid of what separates him from others. It would be interesting

    Amazing how he didn't panic if a rusher got deep in the backfield, and he would use their momentum against them and give Hasselbeck total clearance with one good push. Matt probably got used to not having to worry at all about his blind side.

    Matt Hasselbeck basically never had to worry about his blind side for almost his entire career. Dude was a brick wall and also a battering ram for a run blocker.

    I watched the The Atlanta Falcons/ Seattle Seahawks game when the great left tackle Walter Jones owned Atlanta Falcons pass rusher Patrick Kearney. Kearney didn’t return to the field in the 4th quarter.
