VaYigash | Erev Shabbat: And He Drew Near

- Join us for our Erev Shabbat service we will be going through the weekly teachings from Monte Judah.Our portion this week is "Vayigash," meaning "And he approached." Judah approaches Joseph to plead for the release of Benjamin, Jacob's youngest son. When Joseph sees the unity among his brothers, he finally reveals himself to them. At this revelation, the brothers are overcome by shame and remorse, but Joseph tells them that what happened to him was God's plan all along! Instead of vengeance, Joseph treats his brothers with kindness. Jacob's family was then gathered up and brought to Egypt at Joseph's request. Pharoah gives Jacob’s family the fertile county of Goshen to settle, and the children of Israel prosper in their Egyptian exile. The Scriptures enumerate Jacob's descendants as totaling seventy; however, only 69 names are given. This is one of the hidden miracles of the Torah! The remainder of the portion explains the results of the famine.

When I read Acts 3:21 for the first time I knew it was significant and it made me want to be a part of that Restoration. Thank you Monte for breaking what it means down and for your encouragement! Here is what it says but read back to verses 17 to 20 first: Acts 3:21-26 "Heaven must receive Him, until the time of the restoration of all the things that God spoke about long ago through the mouth of His holy prophets. Moses said, ‘YHVH your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. Hear and obey Him in all that He shall say to you. And it shall be that every soul that will not listen to that Prophet shall be completely cut off from the people.” Indeed, all the prophets who have spoken from Samuel on have announced these days. You are the sons of the prophets and also of the COVENANT that God cut with your fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘In your seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.’ God raised up His Servant and sent Him first to you, to bless you all by turning each of you from your wicked ways.” Shabbat Shalom!

😂 I realized a long time ago Joseph was a Shadow picture of Yeshua but not the depth of it past all things being given into his hands but Pharaoh was still Pharaoh. It also dawned on me how Judah is also a shadow picture of Yeshua as the line of the King giving up his life both for his brother and the heart of his father😂 the depths of the Bible are so amazing😊❤

Love it! God’s plan involved brethren bowing to their redeemer. They wouldn’t bow willingly. He sent a natural disaster, indirectly causing them to bow. Does this relate to the natural disasters coming upon us? Judah told his father that Joseph lives…does this have application in prophecy in some way?
His brothers did not sell him. It's said that the Medianites drew him out and sold hi. To the Ish-mee-lites so it was not the brother's that sold him that is why Reuben rent his clothes
If you will read that very carefully, you'll find out. His brothers did not sail him in the slavery. And I know you're not going to believe this. Just read it carefully what it actually says
