The Islamic version of the story of Joseph (Yusuf) explains this story better. There are a lot of parts missing. For example, when his master's wife wanted to sleep with him, the other noble women found out and were mocking her, saying how could she be so desperate to sleep with a lowly servant. That's when she decided to invite them over to teach them a lesson. As the women were cutting fruits to eat, she asked Joseph to walk by. When the women saw him, they were astonished by his beauty that they all accidentally cut through the skin of their fingers and exclaimed that he is surely an angel from heaven. There are a lot of parts of this story that's missing and slightly different between the bible version and the Quran. Another example is the part of him being imprisoned, Joseph refused to be released until his name was cleared. His previous masters wife confessed that it was her pursuing him. Only after then did he agree to interpret the Pharaoh's dream. Joseph was a man of honor and wanted to clear his name first before being released from jail.

@@spar10z I would be inclined to take the Hebrew version as more accurate for many reasons, not the least of which being that the Hebrews were very good at preserving text between generations. This practice shows not only an ability to keep texts accurate but also demonstrates that they highly valued the preservation of texts and didn't add or change details on a whim like most cultures throughout history have.
Don’t waste your time trying to figure everything out. There are some things you’re not supposed to understand right now. We can’t see God's plan. We can’t fathom how He does things. We think natural; He’s supernatural. If you’re always trying to figure it out, it’s going to frustrate you. Instead of using that energy trying to understand what’s happening, use it to thank God that He’s working. Thank Him that He’s fighting your battles; thank Him that He’s making crooked places straight; thank Him that you’re surrounded with His favor.

When you consider Joseph life as a foreshadow to Jesus,
The baker makes bread (the body) while the cupbearer who deals with wine (the blood) lives. While Jesus’ body has died, His blood, the source of a creature’s life (Lev. 17:14) lives on, cleansing and making us new.

Beautiful lesson for us to always forgive his story is beautiful a lot of lesson I learnt. the most strike to me in the bible is when his brother thinks that Joseph have hatred to them but Joseph doesn't have hatred to them because he knows he is not God to punish people. He forgave his brothers. He took care of them

The conclusion: prayer doesn’t work). If someone says a ghost makes noises in their house, then that noise is recordable, and the house itself testable: it may be old and creaky, or has pipes which thermally disturb the wood, or has rats in the walls. Creationists say the world is 6000 years old. We know this can be tested, literally thousands of ways. The conclusion: well, you know the conclusion. Let me be clear: if you say there is a cause for an event, then there is a way to test that cause. How GOD uses injustice and tragedy to work out HIS Purpose for the good of HIS people even as we witness on the earth this very day. Would you say that reading about "women cutting their fingers and commenting about Joseph's beauty" or "Joseph insisting on staying in prison until his name is cleared" leaves the reader focusing on GOD power to work through all situations for HIS Glory or focusing on Joseph as a special 'moral' person? In the Bible's account, the reader is reminded that no matter how low or high Joseph went, GOD Almighty was the One only focus WHO was orchestrating everything to bless ISRAEL and to bless and vindicate Joseph. Joseph himself testified and said it before one of the greatest kings of the time when he said 'It is not I who would interpret your dream or do what you ask. GOD will do it...'. He literally corrected pharoah's perspective to shift focus from GOD to mere man. And in that one sentence, it sums up for the reader where our attention should be at all times. Not earthward but Heavenward. This applied in Joseph's time and still applies now. When you finish reading both the Bible and Islamic versions, which makes you feel weak and humble as a mere mortal, totally dependent on GOD? Which would you say explains it 'better'?

The story of Joseph is simply the story of Jesus coming down to the prison that is the earth to deliver his people. Jeremiah says the earth is a prison. It's true.
