  • This is how I removed the rear end in the ‘67 Firebird and some of the issues I ran into. Hopefully this will give you the confidence knowing that if someone like me with no experience can do it by myself, you can too. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. And thanks for putting your video out on that. I watched it about 5 times to get it right. I appreciate you putting out videos. They help us tremendously 👍

Thanks 👍 I'm pulling the rear out of my '68 Bird. This was a big help.

I appreciate you guys showing us what your doing. I have two 400 Firebirds in my garage that I need to start on. Hopefully I can get to them before I start my dirt nap.

Thank you. Just need to jump in. That’s what we did. You’ll get them done. Just work on them at your own pace. It will be more enjoyable. Thanks for watching 👍

Nice job removing the rear. I really liked the tie-down idea for the front of the car.

Thank you. I had no idea the pivot point on this car was so far back. The bags of rocks and salt were enough to hold it down, but better safe than sorry. Thanks for watching 👍

I have never had great luck in removing the rear spring shackle bolts. Sawzall is definitely your friend during this stage

OMG, they were like welded together with rust. There was no way I was beating them out from the bottom. ✌️

@@JK_Nex_Garage I never thought of the access hole in the trunk floor instead of hanging upside down under the car that is brilliant

@@VinylVillageGarage I don’t know about brilliant, just wasn’t keen about taking full swings with Thor under the car. Thanks.😎

@@JK_Nex_Garage I am with you hanging upside down beating things loose is not fun. Work smarter not harder seeing how the floor is getting removed why not make an access hole

Nice job. I'm going to do mine the same way. Somebody put a trailer hitch on my car. I'm going to have to deal with that and getting the tank, fuel and brake lines out.

My brake lines and fuel tank were so bad, I cut them all out . Replacing both. Made the removal that much easier.

keep your stock rearend for no other reason than to keep the traction bar you can replace / upgrade it if needed. my 400 car is stock works great

just noticed you have a traction bar on the pass side that could be a 400 car something to look into

    • @JK_Nex_Garage
      @JK_Nex_Garage  Před rokem

I’ve looked into that, and found that the 6 cylinder engines had one on the right side as well. My hood has the 6 cylinder emblem on it as well. Thanks for the comment and watching, we appreciate it. 👍

Traction bars were on both sides of 67 400 manuals. 400 Auto cars had it on the right/passenger side only.
I don’t know about the sixes.

You know it. And there was no way I was getting under the car to beat those shackle bolts out. Thanks for watching.👍
