I think the vision pro is a necessary change that VR needs. The controllers are a limitation, extremely good eye and hand tracking to interact with the VR world is the future and would help with VR glove designs too
hand tracking i think would work well for the right hand to shoot a gun with but they need a controller with joystick for the left hand to move the character.... probably best to play an apple vision with ps5 controller

When I ask my self, Would I live in VR. oddly enough I want to say yes. Though I love the real world, People are becoming too mentally unstable for me to enjoy being around or feel safe around. I already spend most of my time in VRC and only leave to use the bathroom and sleep. So yah I would be down for leaving this trash world with trash people for something better.

I think it needs to be less about interfacing with technology, and more about finding a way to instantly induce REM, and wake from REM in a controlled manner. The brain can do an infinite amount of procedural generation. You can build, and experience what you built in real time. Combine that with controlled lucidity and stable dreamscapes, and you get all the benefits of full dive, with no detrimental effects. Assuming the method to manipulate REM doesn't have any side effects on the body.
Yes it seems like you know your stuff however there is no way (at least no safe way) to manipulate REM and dreams at the moment using external divices
There'd have to be programmed parameters for everything your trying to stimulate the sensory perception of which would take considerably longer than the time to design 3D models and assets for a normal game. I think eventually a software or hardware powered by Neuralink would be capable of doing something similar to SAO but if anyone went through with it the risks for potential brain damage if a glitch or error in the system occurred would go up by a lot since whatever happens would be effecting someone's sensory perception.

@@VRelity Full Dive gaming was my dream ever since I started watching anime in 2013, I was 12 at the time and when I watched SAO it quickly became something I want a lot, I have been following the VR community ever since the Oculus Dev Kit 1, and the progress since then was massive, but it still is not exactly what we want. I hope one day we can just put on the headset lay down and enter the world of our dreams, where we can feel alive and free, where we can be who we want.

I just finished the latest season of SAO and I thought that Waking Dreams and/or Lucid Dreams may play a role in it in combination to stimulating your, touch, taste and smell, while Sound can maybe start with your headphones and sight can be from the partial dream state you go in along with closed eye tracking since you can see REM(Rapid eye movement) on someone when they are in that stage of sleep so the tech can track those movements of your eyes. I believe the cornea that pops out of your eyeball that shows as a bump on the eyelids can get tracked.

I mean we probably all want to experience full-dive technology because it will create so many possibilities for us that's insane.
We are not talking about gaming but about learning experience, yeah you will not have muscle memory as some tasks will require it but you will be able to learn skills in virtual environment and then actually translate them into real world that thing only could bring up huge revolution in way how we learn stuff. I think it will not be possible to craft full dive until AI will tell us how to do it precisely for now we would require another 50 years of development in this field or maybe even more but with quantum computers and AI if it will not kill us all we might see it happen even faster since AGI is almost here and in year 2030 we will see some insane stuff related to AI.
I will be happy to see full-dive tech in our future and maybe even after we will see something similar that they had in Star Trek which was holo tech which was called simulator where you could experience everything with your real body.

this is a little misleading, i play Resident Evil 7 in full VR with a PS5 controller. Also Rec Room on Apple Vision can be played using hand tracking. not sure how youll move around though, they should make at least a left hand controller for joystick and let you shoot with hand tracking on your right hand that would be dope

Dreams take a huge part into this because we cant choose to dream right ? It just happens or sometimes doesn't but there is something that pushes the button for the dream so if we find out where that button is we find out how to sent the game into the brain

The vision pro is not a competitor to the Quest series because they target two extremely different markets, Vision pro is literally a smartphone but in vr format, that's really it which target companies and work oriented niches, The quest vr series are standalone but are targeted to the general public with the main thing being games and entertainment at an accessible cost for everyone so they cannot be competitors

they are little better than a smart watch chip in your brain. grate for people who really need it for things like typing and later down the line seeing with a camera who have lost there eyes or born with out them yes its amazing even life changing for those kinds of people but it is no where near the level we need for something like full dive vr to happen. these are the really early starting points like how the first pc was made in 1974 its safe to say its not going to be happening anytime soon and elon tends to over blow things big time so we might not get to the eye thing even by 2050 so its more or less a pipe dream if your 30 or more years old this year you might see it in your life time if you live to be 100 but looking at the statistics for that. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

man long time no sao animation, sao should teach those vr headset how to make those nervegear, sao nervegear is more realistic with plugged headgear so the nervegear no need to be so forced and unrealistic now. Those company aren't using their brain to think they can actually just plugged a lot of plug instead of forcing them on the nervegear.

The SAO world actually has an implant chip in it, Kirito talks about it at the beginning of the Alicization Arc to Asuna. Accel World mentions it, but the characters in it talk about how there were major issues with the chip so it was not only discontinued, but iirc made illegal. I'm interested to see where this will go, and how quickly it advances.

I do know there's a private company in Japan that's already started a full dive VR SYSTEM sadly during testing a few of my close friends had heart failures during testing after seeing it first hand I said F@#% that and travel back to Australia within the week. That was late last year.

@@VRelity AFIAK the Vision pro tracks all of your hands, the whole skeleton of your hands, so it can do gaming like that, it all depends on the gaming companies to implement that. However, the vision pro is on another different level because it has a full M2 chip and the other chip and is 4k in both eyes so I see it more as competition the laptop market than to VR peripherals.
the obstacle for Vision Pro right now is that does not support DirectX natively and the Snapdragon for laptops does. Apple released an emulator to run DX12 games on MacOS copying wine but still they have a to get Game developers to make their games native to Apple Silicon and that requires a lot of money from the developers and probably the Apple market ain't that big, so the sales for the first gen of Vision Pro will be crucial. I was going to buy the Quest but not anymore, I'm getting the Vision Pro.

The whole full dive thing will never go how everyone here thinks it will. SAO, if it were to exist, would not be the fantasy you would like it to be. As cool as it would be, that's just not how things work. Why do you think companies make games? Money. With the way things are going now, if they sold a full dive game or console on the premise of full emersion, how would they continue to make money from players who already own the game or console? That's right, data. Think about it, the full dive would have to read nearly all of your brain's inputs to put them into the game(s) you are playing as well as send inputs for your brain to register. That's data from literally reading your mind! Any ads from related or connected platforms would be tailored to your deepest thoughts some of which you may not know consciously. That data could also be stolen in the case of a malware attack and oh look there goes your bank account information you memorized and into the hands of criminals. However, this isn't just a one way problem. The full dive can input what ever the simulation programmers see fit. This could mean brainwashing the mind to buy more of a company's product when you leave full dive. Malware attackers could overwhelm users's brains and cause them all to become braindead causing the death of thousands. Terrorist attacks may become common place in full dive. That doesn't even account for malfunctions that could kill the brains of users. Now if a corrupt government were to have access to this technology, oh boy. My point is this is a really bad idea! Are you all really ok with how dangerous this would be even in a working and secure scenario?! I for one am not. You lot are crazy if you still want full dive in the world we live in. The Full Dive you want is and always will be nothing but an unachievable fantasy. That's that.
