    My word, who knew I'd like the look of that yak soo much! I really love this video. It would make color mixing so much easier. You can easily see where you might want more of a color. I kind of wish you also had a 1% on the green and yellow, since they are less saturated, although, I think the yellow will still be fairly close since it is so bright.
    These types of videos are truly so helpful in understanding how quickly a color may fall off or fall out (like the blue falling out of the purple).

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 2 lety +1

      The blues falling out of the purple and green were the most surprising to me! Maybe because those pigments are so minor compared to the pink/yellow? I'm not sure!

    Even with the tiny calculation difference, the colors all look great. I actually kind of like the effect it had on the Yak base. They don't look neon, but they are soooo beautiful.

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 2 lety +1

      I think that those gradient sets are STUNNING, too. And I'd happily dye up some of those for sets. Since the theme was painting rainbows, I figured that someone might be sad if they ended up with a single color. ;)

    Awesome video! I've learned so much from watching you work. Rather than putting the minis in the multi-pot steamer, could you put the takeout containers in the catering pan with a few inches of water and heat treat them? I have similar containers that I also put in the steamer basket with no issues, but I'm worried about color bleeding and steam in small batches which takes ages when I'm sampling colors. Cheers from Saint Paul, MN!

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před rokem +1

      Great question! I would be hesistant to have the plastic containers sit on the bottom of a pan that is exposed directly to heat but that's just because I'm not sure what would happen. Maybe on top of some crumpled up tin foil so it wouldn't be totally on the bottom? I'm not sure TBH

    Very cool! I wonder what the deal is with blue at the lowest DOS...not only did the purple get pinker and the green - more yellow, even the Frozen at the low DOS had a greenish case (or so it seemed on my monitor!).

    • @ChemKnitsTutorials
      @ChemKnitsTutorials  Před 2 lety +1

      That could have been the lighting, I think in person it didn't feel greenish to me. But now that I'm thinking about it... Frozen does have a mix of different of pigments but Dharma's website doesn't say what they are. Bummer! I would have loved to know.

    Carribeann Blue is Wash fast and Jacquard turquoise. There is a difference in the...particle size, but it's all the same pure dye. How do I know? I have all three and I'm set for life. I'm also a foodie.
