    what helped me with calls is the thought that no matter how uncomfortable you may feel cold calling, its nothing compared to how you're going to feel two months later and your broke and can't pay your bills

    My biggest issue right now as a new agent. I think my fear is that I’m new and don’t know enough to answer questions that people may ask me and I just start tripping up on my words and it’s ALL RECORDED 😮

    This call reluctance thing is eating my lunch lately. The ironic thing is that in my day job, I have to be on the phone most of the day taking and making sales calls and I really have no issues with talking to strangers on the phone.
    Thing is, I'm an expert in what I deal with in the phone day to day - I have a lot of confidence that I can handle anything that comes up on the phone, answer any question or deal with any objection. But when it comes to my own business, I don't have that same level of confidence, I'm not so sure I can handle anything and a huge part of my MO is being an expert. My reluctance comes down to not wanting to look like an amateur and end up wasting my time, but logically, I went through a whole lot of that in my first few years at my day job. My ego doesn't want to basically "start over" as a noob, and that's what I'm wrestling with right now.

    The root of fear is not always being afraid of rejection. It can also be fear of being accepted; if you are not confident with your listing presentation. At least this is my case.

    This Video has uncovered so much for me personally.. My Working career started as a LPN. I was always complimented on How Nice and Helpful I was. Then I became a Flight Attendant. Always around Happy People on Vacation and Compliments given daily. Then I come to Realestate thinking Everyone is So Happy when they Buy
    or Sell a House.. What a rude awakening for me.. I’ve quit Realestate many times during my 30+years of being licensed because I’ve taken the ups and downs during a Realestate Transaction Personally.. I totally see how it’s Okay not to be Validated by Buyers and Sellers. In fact, Im Going Start Validating Them!!😅 Am I on the Right Track Mr Brandon ???

    The root of this fear is not being knowledgeable and having the person on the other end ask you questions you can’t answer and the other big thing is people are scared of rejection! Who likes being hung up on or being treated like crap! So I truly understand the fear but I also know we need to get over it by doing it over and over again until we are comfortable!

    I have call reluctance 😭😭
    Anxiety, stress, scared of rejection and get tangled up.
    I know the only way to overcome is to actually do it until I get good. I hate the process.

      You can do it. The thought of it is harder than actually just doing it.
      Be ok with doing it afraid until you become more comfortable with it.

    My call reluctance is around getting 7 different numbers for an expired listing and the fact that 99% of the numbers are on the Do Not Call registry. I have very little issue talking to the right person. Brandon taught me those skills. But I hated my experience with Vulcan 7 due to these issues.

      I've got the same issue with Espresso Agent. I don't know that there is a way around the numbers that are inaccurate. We can only offer an apology for interrupting them and move on I am thinking 🙂

      Yeah. There's no technology currently to perfect this issue, but they can be more clear about that up front before getting you to commit to a 12 month contract. They tell you they're going to get you the numbers, they don't say that it's possible none of those numbers are accurate. They don't tell you 99% are on the DNC.
      That honesty/disclaimer would be appreciated.

    As someone that was an Army Recruiter, it was very scary to pick up the phone. You constantly get cursed at, threatened and it becomes a very daunting task. Recruiting in the military can make or break your career. You have no other choice but to make it work. I was 21 and had to face these fears or fail and get sent to Korea for a year. lol

    My situation is more reluctant to knock doors as opposed to cold calling. I don’t mind making the calls.

    15:35 exactly right. The spotlight is what gets to you. The putting yourself out there with a high rejection rate.
    17:58 everyday they don’t do it, they’re fueling their fear even more
    21:00 how you know you’re on the right track, is when you’re aiming into the uncomfortable

    I was afraid to call Grandma because she was “Mean”. I remember asking my Mom, What do I say to her when I was told to call her. Mom gave me a simple Hello script..but I couldn’t wait to get off the phone.. Grandma has been gone more than 45 years but I still remember that 1st call Reluctance. 😢
